WADE BURLESON CALLS JAMES ROBISON AND THE LIFE OUTREACH INTERNATIONAL’S STATEMENT REGARDING CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULTER ROBERT MORRIS AN “OUTRIGHT LIE”
DANIEL WHYTE III, PRESIDENT OF GOSPEL LIGHT SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL, SAYS SOMEBODY IS LYING, AND SOMEBODY NEEDS TO START TELLING THE TRUTH BEFORE THE FEDS GET INVOLVED BECAUSE SOME MORE EVANGELICAL HEADS ARE GOING TO ROLL BESIDES ROBERT MORRIS’ AS THIS TRAGEDY SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED.
Author and podcaster Wade Burleson shared on social media that he called Robison in an attempt to receive clarification regarding his organization’s statement.
“I called James Robison myself,” Burleson said. “I spoke to his assistant (Carol). I asked for a phone call from James to explain the public statement issued. As of yet, I’ve not heard from him. I’ve known Mr. Robison for 40 years. I explained to Carol that friendship takes a back seat to truth.”
Evangelist Justin Peters replied to Burleson’s post with old newspaper clippings that contradict Life Outreach International’s statement that “Morris’ duties did not include public speaking.”
“This letter cannot possibly be true. This letter is an outright lie,” Peters said. “October 24, 1988 was a Monday. This is from 1988 and states, ‘Robert Morris, a member of Evangelist James Robison Ministries, will hold a three-day revival at the Chapel Hill Fellowship.’”
Burleson replied, “Spot…on.”
