Daniel Whyte III, President of Gospel Light Society International, says the devil is a lie! The question is, How did a man who does women’s hair for a living become a pastor of an Independent Baptist Church? Some jobs are not compatible with the ordained ministry. Can you imagine the Apostle Paul styling women’s hair when he wrote, “Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman,” and we ought to “Abstain from all appearance of evil”? Thankfully, “Pastor” Caleb Cowan has resigned from the business, and now he needs to resign from the church. Daniel Whyte III says further that sometimes we as Independent Baptists think we are superior to “Evangelicals,” “Southern Baptists,” “National Baptists,” and “Church of God in Christ–Charismatics” just because “we came out from among them” at some point, but that is not the case. There is much innate evil in the Independent Baptist movement such as divorce and remarriage, fornication, adultery, and sad to say, even the abomination of homosexuality. Now, we Independent Baptists did not need any help to sin, but without even knowing it, thousands of Independent Baptists have been influenced by the Evangelical-Charismatic machine because we all have met up for decades at the same watering hole–the so-called “Christian bookstore” which is dominated by the Pharisees and Sadducees of the “Evangelical–Charismatic” movement. The Old KJV Holy Bible, Dr. John R. Rice, Dr. Curtis Hudson, and the Sword of the Lord publishers were not good enough for us.
Caleb Cowan is the Associate Pastor at Bethel Independent Baptist Church and the co-founder and Creative Director of Cowan & Co. Salon, an upscale hair salon in Bowling Green, KY. When he’s not preaching, he’s cutting hair for $75+ and blow drying it for $50.
He was also recently seemingly exposed on social media as being a pervert and predator after several of his current and former clients revealed a series of inappropriate and creepy messages he allegedly sent them, including one to a 17-year-old girl telling her, “BTW you’re so hot,” wishing he “wasn’t so old,” going through her Instagram “liking” pictures of her in bathing suits and scantily clad outfits (not shown below), and making veiled inquiries gauging her interest in boudoir pictures.
Pastor Cowan’s online predation is unsurprisingly icky, with an Instagram dedicated to him showing his cringy and pathetic attempts to become someone’s “sugar daddy.”
As a result of his actions, Amanda Cowan, Caleb’s wife and co-founder of Cowan & Co., announced that her husband had resigned as Vice President of the company, with others sharing that he would no longer be employed there in any capacity.
