Footage appears to show former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton involved in a  nasty brawl with a group of men.

Video clips, which have flooded social media, seem to show the 34-year-old fighting off several attackers, with punches being thrown before staff and security intervene.

In the footage, a man – said to be Newton – attempts to fend off a number of men, one of whom swings a punch in the quarterback’s direction.

According to reports, the fracas took place at a 7-on-7 football tournament at the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy in Georgia.

It’s believed Newton, who last played for the Panthers in 2021, was attending an event organized by his foundation – C1N – which hosts 7-on-7 football across the country.

It is not immediately clear what prompted the attack. DailyMail.com has contacted Newton’s representatives for comment.

A former Heisman Trophy winner, the now-34-year-old Newton was selected by Carolina with the first overall pick of the 2011 NFL draft.

He joined the New England Patriots in 2020 before returning to the Panthers the following year.

The quarterback was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player for 2015, a few months after he was involved in a scrap with Panthers teammate Josh Norman during training camp.
