Daniel Whyte III says he likes the Name of Dr. Tony Evans’ New Podcast, “Unbound,” Which Will Air on January 20, 2026, because it is based on one of his Favorite Verses: “ BUT THE WORD OF GOD IS NOT BOUND.” However, Daniel Whyte III, President of Gospel Light Society International, says because he believes Tony Evans is a truly born-again-saved man, and because Tony Evans followed the Lord’s leadership to show grace and help to Daniel Whyte III, his family, and ministry when Whyte never asked him to and Evans did so for a long period of time, and because he did better than most pastors who find themselves in a sin situation by voluntarily stepping down instead of trying to continue to pastor the church, Whyte would like to see Evans do well, succeed, and “prosper.” However, the “Word of God that is not bound” also says, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”  Whyte says, based on the Word of God, he does not see how this venture will prosper as it should, simply because Evans has not told us the truth about his sin upfront. Whyte has some of the same nuanced concerns as the “Blind Christian Guy” of Not by Sight News.
Daniel Whyte III tells Dr. Tony Evans and the elder board of Oak Cliff Bible Church in Dallas, Texas, to protect Jonathan and the church for the future by disclosing Tony Evans’ sin now, so we will not have another Brian Houston (son) and Frank Houston (father) and Hillsong Church scenario in the future after the death of Dr. Tony Evans. Somebody needs to confess the undisclosed sin of Dr. Tony Evans. Either he must do it, which would be best. Secondarily, the board must do it. Or Jonathan must do it, if he knows what his father did — because the “unbounded” Word of God also says, “Be sure your sin will find you out.” In other words, the explosive nature of all sin causes it to eventually come out. There are some people who already know what the sin is. It is known that it is not a run of the mill “common sin” such as adultery, unless it is something like a wife killing her husband to marry another man, or God forbid, a child rape or child molestation matter involving Tony Evans as was the case with Frank Houston the father of Brian Houston, or God forbid, a homosexual blackmail matter that involved Dr. Tony Evans. In other words, the strategy Tony Evans is following will not work or prosper. The truth has to be told now, not in the future, or it will blow up in everybody’s face in the future, including Jonathan’s, and that’s not fair to him. “Do not err, my beloved brethren.” Tell the truth now and enjoy the rest of your life on earth, and leave a legacy of truth, and then enjoy Heaven to boot.

Not By Sight News

Tony Evans, of course, the founder of

Oakcliffe Bible Fellowship in Texas. We

know that Tony Evans had stepped down

from his position back in June of 2024

after he revealed an undisclosed sin

from his past which he said was not

criminal but lacked righteous judgment.

And because of that, he was going to

hold himself accountable, step away for

a period of time, submit to a

restoration plan from his church elders.

We did not know at that time if and when

Tony Evans would even be back,

but we got our answer.

And that answer came in October of 2025

after Evans had been away from his

church for more than a year. Although

not completely done from preaching

because Evans had preached uh at two

other locations in the summer of 2025

uh before coming back to Oakliff Bible

Fellowship.

But the announcement that was given by

church elders, and I talked about this

at the time because I just thought this

was how they strung along the

congregation.

For anybody that listened to that

sermon, I think it was back on October

5th of 2025. If you listen to that

sermon, and they had it up on their

YouTube channel, you had one of the

church’s elders up there talking about

how excited they were because Tony Evans

had completed his restoration process.

They were happy to announce he submitted

to everything that the elders had told

him to do. He got counseling. He took a

year off from preaching. All of this was

building up in anticipation as the

congregation was expecting that with

that announcement, with saying that Tony

Evans has completed his restoration

process, they were ready for him to say

that and he’s now coming back to the

pulpit. Except that’s not what happened.

I mean, you could almost hear a gasp

coming

from the congregation after this point

when they make this announcement. He’s

re, you know, we happy announced he is

now restored back to ministry as

everybody’s cheering like crazy. And

then they say, but will not be returning

to the lead preaching role or any other

capacity

at Oakcliffe Bible Fellowship. That that

is just like I don’t know uh promising

some I don’t know. I’m just using this

as an example for off the top of my

head. promising somebody, you know,

you’re hungry, you’ve been craving this

for a while, man. You haven’t had pizza

in like a year, and you know, you you’re

you know, you could smell the pizza,

right? It’s it’s in the air. You you’re

like, “Oh, man. I’m going to dig into

some pizza after a year.” And and then

right as you think you’re about to get

served up that pizza, they’re like,

“Psych.”

It’s just that’s how it felt to me.

That’s how it felt.

So from there, they said they they know

they’re wishing Tony Evans all the best.

They know that God’s still got something

for him. Okay. And interestingly enough,

too, this was part of their restoration

Sunday. Just nice little tie in there,

right? Then in December,

two months later, 2025,

the church goes ahead and announces that

Tony Evans son, Jonathan,

will be officially taking over. and was

named installed as the new lead pastor

of Oakliff Bible Fellowship. So handing

the reigns on down to the sun. We talk

about this a lot in these mega churches

how you know usually when things like

this happen you see the sun is the one

who who takes over whether you think

they should be or not. That’s often what

happens.

So all of that now leading up to this,

what is Tony Evans doing next? He has

given an interview where he has

announced exactly what that is, but also

he has addressed

the speculation

surrounding his undisclosed sin and

talked as well about his restoration

process. So, we’re going to cover all of

that here uh in just a second. And I

hope you’ll stick with me as we do. But

before we get started, I want to welcome

all of you to Not by Sight News. Yes,

working, by the way, blind Christian guy

going, you know, these days. You know,

we’re just, you know, we’re it’s tough

we’re really trying to become more

that way. We appreciate however you can

support us and I hope that you’re all

having a blessed day. So let’s get into

it. Tony Evans, this is a story that I

covered back in June of 2024 when it

happened. It really shocked a lot of

people who looked up to Tony Evans. you

know, basically, you know, you didn’t

really hear too much negative about this

guy. You know, there really wasn’t many

rumors that were floating around about

him involved in any sort of, you know,

inappropriate things. Just overall, a

lot of people respected him as a as a

pastor, as a Bible teacher. Of course,

he’s got his radio program and all of

that. Many other ventures, of course,

outside of just pastoring at Oakcliffe

Bible Fellowship. But then everything

sort of came to a halt with the

undisclosed sin. And people have been

talking about this now for well over a

year. Again, a year and a half. And I,

to be honest, thought that at some point

before the end of 2024,

it it would have come out, right? What

did we know about it? That he said that

it wasn’t criminal and that it lacked

righteous judgment. We don’t know how

far in the past that it went, but it

happened. And for whatever reason, and

why that was the time to bring it up,

Tony Evans made the decision to take

that year away from the pulpit. And I

say year, he didn’t come back to Oakliff

until October of 2025. But, uh, he

preached at an event in July of 2025 and

then I think another one in September, a

couple of months later. I think it was a

church in Chicago. So, he was, you know,

he was around, just not his own church.

And I said at the time, kind of strange

how his first appearance back preaching

again or speaking wasn’t even at his own

church. And I think there might be

something to that, but I’ll explore that

here in a little bit.

Before I get to Evans addressing the

speculation on his undisclosed sin,

you’re going to want to stick around for

this. I want to talk about his new

venture because I was curious what he

would do next. I mean, we knew he was

going to do something, right? So, in

this interview that he gave with church

leaders and the interview’s out there,

you can listen to it. You can watch it

in full if you would like to. He talked

about what’s next for Tony Evans. And

when I heard this announcement, I said

he’s taken a page out of the TD Jake

playbook because Tony Evans has

announced that he will be hosting a

brand new podcast, right? These uh

preachers turn podcasters. We’re seeing

a lot more of this now. TD Jake just

announced this a couple of months ago,

his brand new podcast, because he’s not

preaching over at the Potter’s House in

Dallas anymore. We know that TD Jake had

given the church reigns over to his

daughter and his son-in-law. So now, you

know, of course, there’s a lot of

shenanigans involving Jake that I’ve

talked about. So, he’s hosting his own

podcast. Now you got Tony Evans

announcing his own podcast which is

going to be called Unbound. That’s what

it’s going to be called.

Uh the Unbound podcast. So

this is going to be kind of very similar

uh in all honesty to the TD Jake

podcast. uh Unbound. It’s going to be a

a faith and cultural type of a podcast

where he’s going to apply scripture to

everyday life and interview people, you

know, various pastors,

Christian artists, influencers. Some of

the guests that have already been lined

up for this include,

and I’m not particularly a fan of some

of these people, Kirk Franklin, Larae,

and Matt Chandler, Pastor Matt Chandler,

also there in Texas, and well, he’s had

his own issues in recent years as well,

which I’ve talked about as has his

church. But uh these are just some of

the individuals again that will be on

Unbound with Tony Evans and the podcast

is set to debut on January 20th. So, I

don’t know what this is with these

pastors now turning to the podcast, you

know, and it’s so interesting that you

have two in both TD Jake and Tony Evans

who both had to and I guess with Tony

Evans, I mean, it he stepped down for a

period, but you know, they didn’t really

call it a resignation. TD Jake resigned

and he said it was for health reasons,

but of course all the other shenanigans

and the the lawsuits involving TD Jake

and other men who alleged that he s

mistreated them and now they’re both

doing podcast. It’s just it’s just very

strange to me that two of the biggest

churches, two of the biggest mega

churches in all of Texas and you know

bigger names, right? TD Jake, Tony Evans

now both doing their own podcast uh

while they have their family members

running their church. I I just think the

similarities are quite interesting.

So what about the speculation on his

undisclosed sin? He was asked the

question and they talked about how

again, you know, you said this was, you

know, you didn’t announce it and all

that, but there was a lot of speculation

on social media as to what it might be.

Now, I have maintained because there the

the Tony Evans supporters, I mean, they

beat me up anytime I talk about this

guy. I’m sure they’re going to do the

same thing in the comment section here.

They’re going to make fun of me for

being blind. Uh, that’s Christian. I’ll

tell you what, uh, the so-called

Christians who, you know, love these

pastors, anytime that I bring criticism

against their favorite pastor, while

they are very quick to go to personal

insult, one of their favorite things

they they love to do this is to make fun

of my vision. The fact that I can’t see

and they’ll say things like, “Oh, not

only are you blind physically, but

you’re blind spiritually, too. Ha,

you’re blind. Look at your silly

glasses.” Haha. Right? These are these

are believers, okay? These are these are

Christians, so they say. So, I no doubt

they’re going to do it again here in the

comments, but that’s okay. They worship

man more than they do God. And and they

out themselves and you know, every time

they do something like that. Uh, no

problem with having a respect for a

pastor, but when you worship one and you

refuse to believe that they are in any

way capable of doing something sinful,

uh, well, in this case here with Tony

Evans, he admits it, although won’t be

transparent about it and you’re just

you’re you’re fooling yourself. Anyway,

I just had to say that. But

Evans talked about how he saw a lot of

what was going on on social media and

what was being said. He said that so

much of it was nothing more than people

telling lies, people who were uninformed

and people who quite frankly were saying

a lot of damaging things. So, he wasn’t

happy about it. But look, I got the

answer for Tony Evans. If you were not

happy about the speculation, which is

still happening now, a year and a half

later, all you had to do from the very

beginning was be transparent about what

you had done. But because you did not do

that, because you chose to keep it

silent and not be transparent with

people, of course, people are going to

speculate on what it might be. So you

can’t really blame people, especially

for the people who really respected you

from trying to, you know, figure out

what it might be. And let me just say

this, too, because so much was

emphasized on the fact that whatever

this sin was, it wasn’t criminal. Just

because something wasn’t criminal does

not mean that it is not worthy of being

mentioned what it is. Because if it was

something really terrible despite it not

being criminal, at least that’s what

they’re saying. That could give people a

whole different perception of Tony

Evans. It would give people the ability

to discern the situation for themselves,

pray about it, and find out, is this

church the one that I should really be

at at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship? Right?

Is it where I should be? I mean, if it

was an Again, speculation, right?

They’re going to say you’re gossiping.

Don’t do that. But if it was an

infidelity, is it criminal? Well, I

mean, you’re not going to be prosecuted

for it, but

in the eyes of God, it’s a completely

disqualifying act for a ministry, right?

What about something financial? You

know, financial mismanagement.

Well, I mean, I could, you know, it

could be criminal depending on what it

might be.

But something else that I caught while

he was doing this interview is he was

talking I’m going to I’m sort of

skipping around here a little bit but

and he did not reveal the the

undisclosed sin and I and I don’t know

if he ever will. My, you know, my

opinion, and I know, right, far be it

for me to have an opinion on something

on my own platform, but

my opinion here is that if in fact it

had something to do, if with an

infidelity or something along those

lines, if the other person involved or

other persons involved

had gone to Tony Evans and wanted it

revealed or wanted him out of the

ministry, for all we know, there could

be some sort of an NDA that’s attached

here that is preventing this individual

or individuals from speaking out. Maybe

in exchange for the fact that Evans does

not reveal what it was, but he gets out

of the church. I thought it was very

telling how the elders at Oakcliffe said

that he was restored back to ministry

but would not be returning to the church

to preach. Well, why not, right? Wh why

not come back and preach? If you’re

cleared, what’s the big deal? He was

okay to preach in two other locations

over the summer and into the fall, but

why not in his own church?

Just I I don’t know. Now, he did preach

the sermon that, you know, the

installation service for his son

Jonathan taking over in December, but it

just something just didn’t sit right

with me about this whole situation about

not being transparent. And I know people

are going to applaud him. Oh, look, he

did what so many others don’t do. Okay,

he did he did a good thing, right? Sure.

He but but the means in which it came

about

and the fact that now as he was

discussing further about what the

restoration process was like for him and

he talked about how it’s important that

you are restored amongst spiritual

people because they were asking Tony

Evans what is your advice for other

leaders that may eventually end up in a

situation like yourself for example. And

as I was going through this and Evans is

talking about the importance of when you

are restoring, you know, trying to be

restored that you do it in the midst of

spiritual people,

not just anybody,

not social media, but people who are

actually spiritual. Now, you know,

define spiritual, right? Spiritual, that

word gets tossed around a lot.

Are we to assume that the elders of his

church are spiritual because they wore a

title? Oh, so because they’re elders and

they wore a title in the church, well,

we can trust that they were the right

people to handle the restoration

process. No questions asked. You even

think about asking a question, well,

you’re just wrong, right?

Not just anybody. And you could tell who

he was aiming that at, right? People who

were speculating about what his sin

might be. I’m sure it wasn’t very

pleasant for him to read what he was

reading on social media about what the

sin might be. But again, he brought it

on himself. He brought it on himself. He

could have came out and said it from the

beginning, but he chose not to. And

look, there’s a reason for that. Also,

he could have disclosed the sin when it

first happened, whenever that was, but

he did not do that. which also makes you

question why.

Was it a sin that was going on for a

period of time? Was it a one-time thing?

We don’t know.

We’re just basically told that it’s not

our business. Keep our mouth shut. Trust

Tony Evans. He’s a pastor. You’re not.

Right.

So then as he’s continuing to go on here

and talking about how it’s all about the

Lord, it’s not about any one man. Well,

yeah. You wish him other people would

actually take that. that I agree with

him on. But he said that as far as his

son Jonathan, there were already talks

Tony said about the eventual transition

leading to Jonathan Evans taking over.

But what he said was that this

disturbance that came up helped to just

accelerate that process. So now, and I

caught that. I was like, “Wait, wait.

What’ you call that? So, the undisclosed

sin from Tony’s past that was not

criminal but lacked righteous judgment

and that caused him to be away from his

church for a year, go through a

restoration, counseling, time of healing

process was a disturbance.

When you hear that word, a disturbance

is what? Like I I look at it like to be

you know you were bothered with

something right? Oh you you this

disturbance came up. Something came in

and interrupted

the process. A disturb disturbance could

be anything right? It could be noise

right it could be an interrupt it it

could be anything. But that word just

the way that he chose that word I

thought was very telling.

the the plan was to eventually always

transition things over to Jonathan to

lead the church.

But this disturbance

accelerated that process and it

presented itself with an opportunity

for us to move in that direction maybe a

little bit quicker than we would have

previously thought.

It was all framed to be a good thing.

It was all framed in a way that just

always just God had his hand on it the

whole time. The disturbance came up. It

was what it was.

It just allowed us to get Jonathan into

the role even a little bit quicker than

we had previously thought.

A disturbance.

The undisclosed sin is a disturbance.

Hm.

And I could tell you

and there’ll be some that of course that

are going to worship Tony Evans.

There will always be speculation about

what this sin is. It it just will.

He’s being protected there. People are

covering for him. And I know that even

when the elders had initially announced

his restoration, they talked about how

we’re we’re not trying to be you know,

you know, lack transparency with you.

No, no. It’s just, you know, we’re we’re

doing things biblical and they can sound

real good. They can make it sound real

nice.

So

now he looks ahead and and and going

into his podcast, right? Unbound.

We’re going to apply scripture everyday

life, faith and culture, you know,

cultural, you know, type of

conversations with Kirk Franklin and

LRae and Matt Chandler and all these

other people that are going to be going

on there with Evans. Wouldn’t even be

surprised if TD Jake pops up on there or

Tony Evans pops up on his podcast.

There has to be accountability. Yes,

absolutely.

He went away for a time. Yes. But why?

People have a right to know that if it

was something really, really bad, again,

even if it wasn’t criminal,

his reputation is still on the line.

They don’t want that to come out because

they know that if it does, it’ll change

the minds of many people when it comes

to Tony Evans. He is still very much

involved. He’s got his hands in many

different things. He may not be leading

the church from the pulpit anymore, but

he still is involved in a lot. The Urban

Alternative, right, his radio program,

we talked about it. He does not want to

lose those supporters

and he don’t like the speculation. Like

I said, people going out. He says, “Oh,

a lot of lies were told. People are

misinformed.

A lot of it was quite frankly damaging.”

But again, the only one who caused all

of it was you. If you would have been

honest from the beginning,

be no need for speculation. You could

have been honest about the sin, still

taken the year away,

and maybe people would have had a little

bit more respect for you.

But that’s not the way they chose to go.

What do you guys think? Tony Evans new

venture going into the podcasting world.

What do you think about his comments on

the speculation

of his undisclosed sin and then calling

it a disturbance that they just used to

accelerate the process and that God had

a hand on and it all came out to be

great and you know and happy and

everyone’s happy at the end of the day,

right? We all live happily ever after.

to make a contribution that way. It all

helps us out. It’s all appreciated and

we can’t do it without you. What I want

to do right now, something I do on all

these videos, let’s end this video on

hope. It’s part of my ministry outreach.

This is an altar call. I’ve been doing

this on my videos since 2016. No matter

what it is, I am discussing in the

church. We always want to give people

the opportunity to receive Christ as

savior. That being said, anybody

watching now, if you are someone who has

not yet received Jesus as Lord and

Savior and you would like to do so, I

want to lead you in a prayer to do that

right now. This is a prayer you could do

in your own words, but I will give you

the steps you need to bring it before

the Lord today. First thing you want to

do right off the top, acknowledge you

are a sinner. That is something that we

all are. The good news is that God gave

his only son, Jesus Christ, to die on

that cross for the sins of all the world

as he died and rose again for you and

me. He paid the cost. What you have to

do is repent of your sin. That means to

turn from sin. Not just to say you’re

sorry and jump back to your old ways,

but to actually turn from sin, which are

those lifestyles, patterns, habits,

behaviors, things in your life that go

against the word of God. If you humbly

go before the Lord though and ask him to

forgive you, he’ll wipe your sin away.

Bible says he doesn’t remember it any

longer. And then you invite Jesus into

your life to be your Lord and Savior.

When you do that, you become born again,

a child of God. You will have eternal

life. Trust me when I tell you there is

no greater decision you will ever make

than the one you do to give your life to

Christ. And I pray you make that

decision today. Again, more info down

below. Thank you all again so much for

watching. I really do appreciate it.

I’ll be back with more. You guys take

care. Please be safe out there. God

bless each and every single one of you.

And I’ll talk with you soon.

Dr. Tony Evans Discusses New Podcast and What He Learned During His Restoration Process

On Jan. 20, Dr. Tony Evans, founder and former senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (OCBF) in Dallas, is launching a new podcast titled “The Unbound Podcast.”

In 2019, after 50 years of marriage, Evans’ wife, Lois, died from gallbladder cancer. In 2023, Evans married Dr. Carla Crummie. In addition to authoring over 150 books, booklets, and Bible studies, Evans is the founder and president of The Urban Alternative.

The new podcast is aimed at demonstrating the relevance of Scripture to every area of life, culture, and current events and will feature conversations with pastors, Christian artists, and cultural influencers. Guests will include Kirk FranklinLecraeMatt Chandler, Ruth Chou Simmons, Gary Thomas, and others.

“The Unbound Podcast” will explore how people encounter the Spirit in everyday life and will offer timeless truths of Scripture in grounded, relatable ways. The podcast aims to help others find the light in their daily struggles, guidance for difficult times, and fresh insight that will expand their worldview.

During the interview with ChurchLeaders, Evans also reflected on his recent return to ministry after he stepped away from his pastoral duties because of an undisclosed sin.

Watch the full interview here.

Dr. Tony Evans Stepped Away From Ministry for a Year Because of an Undisclosed Sin

On June 9, 2024, during the OCBF Sunday morning worship services, Evans announced, “When we fall short of that standard due to sin, we are required to repent and restore our relationship with God. A number of years ago, I fell short of that standard.”

Evans explained, “I am, therefore required to apply the same biblical standard of repentance and restoration to myself that I have applied to others.”

“This difficult decision was made after tremendous prayer and multiple meetings with Dr. Evans and the church elders,” a statement posted on the church’s website read. “Dr. Evans and the elders agree that when any elder or pastor falls short of the high standards of scripture, the elders are responsible for providing accountability and maintaining integrity in the church.”

“I have shared this with my wife, my children, and our church elders, and they have lovingly placed their arms of grace around me,” Evans said. “While I have committed no crime, I did not use righteous judgment in my actions.”

The pastor shared that he would be using his time away from ministry to submit to a “healing and restoration process established by the elders. This will afford me a needed time of spiritual recovery and healing.”

On Oct. 5, 2025, Evans was restored to ministry during an OCBF Sunday morning worship service, but the church shared that Evans would no longer serve as the church’s pastor—a position he held for 48 years.

“We are pleased to report that Dr. Evans has fully submitted to the church’s discipline and restoration process,” Pastor Chris Wheel told the congregation. “This restoration process has included individual counseling with outside non-staff professionals and pastoral mentoring, evidence of genuine repentance and godly sorrow.” Wheel expressed that Evans “demonstrated humility and a renewed desire to honor God, [and] a public stepping away from all formal ministry roles at OCBF.”

“In alignment with biblical principles and unanimous affirmation of the elder board, Dr. Evans has successfully completed this restoration journey,” Wheel said.

Evans told OCBF, “I’m sorry for any inconvenience or hurt that I brought to you in this process, but I’m thankful that you have followed the teaching that the church is not about a man. It’s about Jesus Christ.”

Dr. Tony Evans Reflects on His Time of Restoration

ChurchLeaders asked Evans to share what God had taught him during his time of restoration.

“The church has to be the church, no matter who it applies to, whether pastor or parishioner,” Evans said. “And our church was the church of healing and restoration, going through a tough time in my own life.” When Evans was going through that “tough season,” he said that OCBF “leaders rallied around me.”

“We were already working on the transition of my son into this role—so that was already in place. This disturbance expedited that process,” Evans continued. “I experienced scripturally, Hebrews 12, when God shakes things is because he’s doing something new. It’s to reveal his unshakable kingdom. So I learned how disturbances moves God in accomplishing his plan on his timetable, not the one you planned.”

“So it was experiencing God and then taking that time to go deeper with God and with new scenarios in my life that God was showing me a deeper side of himself,” said Evans.

Following Evans’ public confession, people on social media speculated as to what the OCBF senior pastor’s undisclosed sin was. ChurchLeaders asked Evans what he learned through that experience that might help other church leaders who might deal with similar circumstances in the future.

“First of all, social media can take anything anywhere it wants it to go, and I saw that. There were all kind of lies being told and people uninformed,” said Evans. “Just damaging things. A lot of it had nothing to do with anything.”

Evans advised leaders “to be wise.” He said, “I think if you have a solid church with solid elders and who love God and love you, that’s where you have to start. The Bible says restoration should happen from spiritual people, not from everybody—and everybody’s not spiritual.”

“So you have be able to discern what’s spiritual and what’s not. What’s just garbage or talk,” Evans encouraged. “So when you handle it spiritually then it can be determined where it should go and where it shouldn’t go because you’re in a spiritual environment. You’re not just in social media.”

Dr. Tony Evans’ Son, Jonathan, Named Lead Pastor of OCBF

On Dec. 7, 2025, Jonathan, Evans’ son, was installed as the lead pastor of OCBF.

While preaching that morning on the biblical account of Moses passing his mantle of leadership to Joshua, the elder Evans told the congregation that he believes God has still “got something for Tony Evans down the line that I ain’t seeing yet, ‘cause he still has a purpose for my life and gifts as long as he has me here.”

After his installation, Jonathan told his dad, “You’re a good father and I’m grateful that that’s one title that will never change or shift.”

His mottoes are “Crying in the Wilderness,” “Exiled on the Isle of Patmos,” and “Preaching the Gospel by any means necessary,” all for the glory of God and Jesus Christ.

Daniel Whyte III is the president of the over-40-year-old Gospel Light Evangelistic Society International and the over-37-year-old Gospel Light House of Prayer International. He is known worldwide as the prophet who predicted the Coronavirus Plague over 10 years before it hit in recorded preaching and writing. God also led him to guide thousands through the Coronavirus Plague that killed over 20 million people because of the sins in the Judas-Laodicean church.

Daniel Whyte III’s greatest blessing in this life is his “quiver full” of 10 children—Daniella (Danni), Daniel IV, Danita Evangeline, Danae Mary-Louise, Daniqua Grace, Danyel Ezekiel, Danyelle Elizabeth Breedlove, Danielle Tekeela, Duran-Daniel, and the first Daniel IV (deceased and in heaven with the Lord)—along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Daniel Whyte III has been unblissfully but sexually satisfyingly married to his first and only wife, Meriqua Whyte of Christiana, Jamaica, for over 37 years since December 19, 1987. Jesus Christ said: “And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.” Even though many evangelicals, charismatics, and Protestants try to act as if these words of Jesus Christ are not a reality in our modern Christianity—primarily because of the Satanic-driven prosperity gospel and an over-positive philosophy, which is a lie not based in reality or biblical truth—the words of Jesus Christ are true for every person who preaches the Gospel. The outcomes of the Gospel are a changed life and opposition from family, lukewarm Christians, Laodicean-Judas pastors and churches, the world, and the devil. This is a reality in our present evil world.

While Daniel Whyte III thoroughly enjoys his married life because he did not allow his wife to have her way at any point and was and is solidly and biblically the head of his household throughout the marriage—often quoting Joshua, “As for me and my house, we’re going to serve the Lord” “up in here!”—and because his wife never failed in the very important area of sex, which he got married for in the first place to avoid sinning against God, he has especially enjoyed the privilege and joy of raising his children in the Lord virtually by himself. He served the Lord with them every day of their lives, from the time they were born until they graduated from college, became adults, and moved on.

However, his wife, Meriqua Whyte—motivated by Satan, with a Pharaoh-style pride mixed with the well-known female Jamaican-style pride, stubbornness, rebelliousness, and witchcraft—has been his greatest Judas enemy in the world and has been what Paul spoke of: a “messenger of Satan” and a “thorn in the flesh.” Amazingly, and by the grace of God, that Satanic evil opposition has spurred Daniel Whyte III on to preach the Gospel probably more times than any man on record. God has honored him because he did not “hearken to the voice of his wife.” Whyte tells other Christian men to only hearken to the voice of God and Jesus Christ—not to their wives, as so many thousands of church men have been taught by pastors and other older men throughout the years. Remember, we are in this worldwide, multi-generational mess because Adam hearkened to the voice of his wife and not to the voice of God.

Before they were married, Daniel Whyte III told his wife Meriqua Whyte that they would not do family life as her parents did, because their married life was hellacious and ended in divorce, as did some of her other family members, including the aunt she was living with. He also told his wife they would not do family life as his parents did, because it was also hellacious and out of order since his mother was the head of the household, not his father. But thanks be to God, they never got a divorce. Whyte told his wife before they got married that they were going to do it God’s way according to Ephesians chapters 5 and 6, or no way at all. And then he asked his wife, “Are you willing to do marriage God’s way according to Ephesians chapters 5 and 6?” And she said yes. Whyte told her before they got married that if she did not live up to her end of the deal, all bets were off.

Because Daniel Whyte III’s wife, Meriqua Whyte, was so proud, unsubmissive, stubborn, and rebellious after they got married, God led him to read Ephesians chapters 5 and 6 every day in their family devotions throughout their marriage. In the first year of their marriage, Daniel Whyte III also gave his wife a list of verses for women from the Word of God for her to read, which she still reads to this day. He also bought her many books to read to help her be the wife God wanted her to be.

Whyte realized early in the marriage that his wife was not a born-again, saved person even though she lied and said she was before they got married. After over 37 years of marriage, she is still not saved, never bearing any fruit of a saved person, to the point of not even wanting to tell her children, “I love you” and not wanting to hug them when they were little children, even after her husband told her to do so. She also hated the daily family devotions that her husband led and tried to hinder them. She also demonically hated and tried to hinder every Gospel preaching service to this very day.

However, only by the grace of God, they are still married, and despite the devil constantly working through his wife to try to hinder him from preaching the Word of God, he is still preaching the Gospel and the Word of God live and on-demand. His ministry reaches over 148,800 people per month with over 21,000 unique views per month, reaching 149 countries, preaching the Gospel and the Word of God in 2 to 3 services a day, 7 days a week. Glory be to God!

Mrs. Meriqua Whyte’s Apology to her Husband and Their 7 Children for not Being a Biblical Wife or Mother

Mrs. Meriqua Whyte, the Wife of Daniel Whyte III, Gave him the Best Father’s Day Gift Ever About 10 Years Ago When She Unexpectedly and Voluntarily Apologized for the First Time to Him and Their 7 Children for Not Being the Wife, Mother, and Christian Example of the Woman She Should Have Been Over the Past 37 Years of Marriage

Here is what Mrs. Meriqua Whyte wrote ten years ago after verbally apologizing to the entire family on Father’s Day, right before church service:

Over thirty years of marriage. Over thirty years of ups and downs. Over thirty years of trying to make our problems a personal thing between my husband and me. Thankfully, he did not allow me to do that and kept telling me it was between God and me—over thirty years of acting on my feelings and not on what the Bible says. Over thirty years of refusing to obey God’s simple command to a wife—to be obedient to your husband in all things. Over thirty years of disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, and dishonesty, all rooted in pride. Over thirty years of simply not choosing to mature as a Christian.

God has been dealing with me for over thirty years now about changing my attitude and behavior as a wife, which has manifested itself in disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, dishonesty, having an ungodly attitude and spirit, and simply not being the wife, mother, or example of a Christian woman that I should have been throughout the years. (By the way, for those of you who may be thinking that my disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, and dishonesty have resulted in adultery, I will say here that I have never committed any adultery or had sex with another man besides my husband, Daniel Whyte III, since I was born.)

God kept telling me I needed to stop my rebellious and stubborn behavior, apologize to my husband and children, and get my heart right with him, my husband, and my children. He sent others my way to tell me how to behave:

  • My husband, but I didn’t want to hear it from him
  • Other Christian women speakers
  • Other preachers
  • Books and other materials, but I would not take heed

I knew what to do, but I chose not to do it. The devil had me thinking and believing—as he is having a lot of wives and mothers think and believe—that your relationship with your husband and how you respond to him, whether positive or negative, will not affect your relationship with your children or your relationship with God. I say without hesitation that this is one of the devil’s lies, and sad to say, many wives and mothers are falling for this lie.

Another lie of the devil that Christian wives are falling for is that you can still have a strong relationship with God without being submissive to your husband. Lie! Lie! Lie! There is no truth to this. I know because I have experienced this and am still experiencing this as I am going through this breaking process, which is not happening overnight.

Even throughout my years of rebelliousness, stubbornness, and pride, I still kept praying the prayer I used to pray daily before I got married: “Lord, make me be exactly what You want me to be. Lord, break, make, and mold me into what you want me to be.” Well, God took that prayer seriously, and once you accept Him, He will begin the breaking process. It’s up to us how long that breaking process will take. For me, sad to say, it has taken over 30 years, and the breaking is not complete. In what way is God breaking me down right now? Well, our children have grown up. The three oldest have gone through and are still going through college, have gotten their degrees, and some are working on their second, third, and fourth degrees, launching their careers and moving out. God slapped me into reality and truly intensified the breaking process. My husband told me before our first child was born and repeatedly while the children were young that my job was to love our children and make positive memories with them and that if I did that, I would have a wonderful relationship with them as adults in the time to come. Well, I disobeyed God and my husband, who did not let up on his duties. And he has a wonderful relationship with our children, even the girls, and I don’t. However, God led me to finally break the day before Father’s Day, and while I was helping my husband get dressed to preach, I asked him if I could apologize to him and the entire family. That’s the first time I ever did that on my own. Throughout the years, he has always told me that I needed to get my heart right with God, him, and my children; otherwise, I would never have the joy and peace of the Lord in my life. However, I kept on lying and denying that I was the problem.

Here is what I said to my husband and children on Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2017, the day before Father’s Day. My husband told the entire family that this was the best Father’s Day gift I have ever given to him:

“Daddy, children, I apologize for not being the wife, mother, and example of a Christian woman I should have been throughout the years. I have shown nothing but pride, disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, and a bad attitude and spirit toward God and my husband in front of you. My disobedience and rebelliousness have caused much unnecessary unrest and upheaval in the family. As my husband told me, things could have gone much better if I had obeyed God’s word from the beginning. Please accept my apology, and I am asking you to forgive me.”

The diminishing of peace and joy in my life throughout the years I brought on myself. Not having a proper relationship with God, my husband, and my children, I brought on myself—all because I chose the disobedient route. My number one desire is to live a life of peace—peace with God, my husband, and my children. I have learned that peace will not come as long as I live in disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, and pride.

I will end this with two notes: (1) Happy Father’s Day to my husband: you have been a great husband and father. (2) Happy Children’s Day to my children: You all have been great children. I have no complaints whatsoever against my husband and, of course, children; you have never been at fault. My bad behavior is all on me, and I’m sorry I put you through this. May God bless your lives, and I love you.

Ephesians 5:22 – 6:20 (KJV)

Below is the passage in the Bible that Daniel Whyte III read in their family devotions every day for decades. It covers the biblical duties of the husband, the wife, and the children, and includes how to fight against the devil who is seeking to destroy the family.

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

The Gospel in a Nutshell

If you were to die today, where would you go: Heaven or Hell? If you’re not sure, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”

Jesus Christ said the most important words ever spoken in the history of the world when He said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

The Most Important Question in the World: Have You Been Twice Born?

This is the “Chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #447, titled, “The Big Question.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says: that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

“Have You Been Born Again?”

The question is not, “Have you joined a church?” or “Are you trying to do your best?” or “Do you have religion?” but, “Are you twice-born?” Jesus Christ said in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

We enter the physical world by birth. Spiritual life, likewise, is entered with a birth. We become members of a human family by birth; we become members of the family of God by birth, by being “born again.” There is no other way to get into the human family except by birth, and there is no other way to get into God’s family except by the new birth. Neither education, nor cultivation, nor reformation, nor “turning over a new leaf,” will accomplish this. What is needed is not a new “leaf” but a new “life”! “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).

A New Nature Needed

By physical birth, we become partakers of human nature; by being born again, we become “partakers of the divine nature.” A Christian is the product of a divine “begetting.” The second birth is not an improvement of the old nature; it is the imparting of an entirely new nature. The old nature is hopelessly corrupt and incapable of ever being made fit for His presence. The new birth requires a creative act of the Holy Spirit. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”

Not “Trying” But “Trusting”

“Trying to follow Christ” is not Christianity. Christianity is not imitation of Christ; it is the indwelling of Christ. Christianity is not trying to do anything. It is trusting Christ, who has done it all! He has “finished the work,” and there is nothing left to do but simply to receive and trust Him. He shed His precious blood on the cross, and the work is all done once and forever! Cease trying and begin trusting! Believers will progressively become more and more like Christ, but by His power, not their own.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Simply “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible says in 1 John 5:1, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.” The Bible states in John 1:12-13, “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

You are born again, you become a Christian by trusting a Person—receiving a Person. The very moment you do this, the Lord Jesus Christ comes in and life begins!

What Is Meant By “Believe”?

To “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” means more than simply believing the historic facts concerning Him. Intellectual belief about Christ is not sufficient. The belief that brings salvation must be “with the heart,” that is, with the whole being. This belief also includes repentance: “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible states in Acts 17:30, “God… now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.”

The faith which saves, then, includes the necessity to repent and to receive Christ as Savior and Lord, to rest upon Him alone for salvation. It means to trust Him so utterly and completely that, if He should fail, there would be no hope at all!

May I Know That I Am Born Again?

This is an important question. We know that we are born again by the testimony of God’s Word. God says in John 5:24, “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Have you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as explained by God’s Word? If so, then you are saved, you are “born again,” you have “passed from death unto life.” God says so! Take God at His Word, and go on your way rejoicing!

One Final Word

You may “belong to a church,” you may be “trying to do the best you can,” you may be “striving to live right.” Your outward life may be the model of moral correctness, and you may be looked up to, honored, revered, and respected. Yet, if you have not been “born again,” you are just as lost as if you had never heard of Christ. Yes, you may teach in the Sunday school, read the Bible, sing, shout, “feel happy,” and all the rest—but if you have never been “born again,” you are still in your sins and a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you want to be saved from the wrath to come and from an eternity in Hell, and if you believe that Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead, and you are willing to trust Jesus Christ with all of your heart so you can go to Heaven, please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer:

Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
