And so, ladies and gentlemen, we are back, by the grace of God, in the Book of Job. I want you to turn in your Bibles to Job chapter 16. I hope you heard some of the music that was played before we got into the service here tonight. As long as I have King Jesus, I don’t need anybody else. That’s how good Jesus is. “There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus; no, not one.”

Job chapter 16. We have some titles that we are using as we move into this chapter—and Job chapter 15 was a powerhouse chapter.

Our first title is “Miserable Comforters and a Witness in Heaven: The Desperate Cry of a Suffering Saint.” Our second title is “From the Ashes to the Throne: When Earthly Friends Fail You, Faith Looks Up to God.” As long as I have King Jesus, I don’t need anybody else. Number three: “The Sufferer’s Anthem: Lament, Loneliness, and the Glimmer of Hope.” Number four: “God as Enemy, God as Advocate: The Paradox of Job’s Faith.” And number five: “My Witness Is in Heaven: The Gospel Glimpse in Job’s Darkest Hour.”

Section One: Job Rebukes His Miserable Comforters (His So-Called Friends, His Pitiless Friends). Verses 1-5.

I thank God for all of the hearts that have been given. I have been notified that over 100 hearts, 100 likes, have gone up into the air. We praise God for that, and we thank God for you, with over 2,300 with us, according to the stats.

Miserable Comforters

Covino, I’m so glad to have you. Charis, Mark, Deacon Loyal, Bricks, Holly, Asif, Debbie, BP, Beezer, Alicia, Loyalty, Connie, Jessica, Butterfly, Tint—pardon me, everybody; I don’t know where that comes from, but I thank God for it. There’s nothing like a good sneeze. Mr. Ruiz, Camilla, A Force of Nature, James, King, Mark, N.C., Willow, Mrs. Cheesecake—I think this is your first time here. Chappie, we thank God for everybody being here today.

Shall we pray?

Holy Father God, we pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to finish that long, painful series of preaching this past week. Holy Father God, we praise You and thank You for Your grace, Your mercy, and Your love. We praise You and thank You for Your Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, Your Holy Spirit, and Your Holy Word.

Lord, I pray that every person on TikTok, every person on Substack, every person on Rumble, every person on Big Olive, and every person on all channels and platforms would believe in You, Lord Jesus Christ. For You said the most loving words ever said, the most important words ever said, and the most powerful words ever said for the salvation of the soul: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, my friends. Do it today. Do it right now. All you have to do is believe in your heart in the Lord Jesus Christ. Put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and pray and ask Him to save you, and He will save you.

Lord, we praise You and thank You for blessing our church with Sister Bliss at the time that You did. We give You the glory, praise, and honor for her being here tonight, as she was with us last night. I know that she will be thrilled to know that we are back to reading through the Old Testament, as she has read through the New Testament with us here at Gospel Lighthouse of Prayer International and Gospel Light Society International.

I do pray that You will bless and anoint the reading of Your Holy Word by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Holy Father God, I pray in the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, tonight, going into the hours of the morning, have mercy and grace upon each and every one of us who are born again and saved, and where we have sinned in word, thought, or deed, for Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive us of our sins, our faults, and our failures, as we from our hearts, by Your grace, forgive those who have sinned against us.

Crush and crucify our wicked, evil, and ungodly flesh and the old man within us. Fill us, Lord, afresh and anew with the fullness and the power, the unction and the anointing, the fruit and the liberty, Lord, of Your Holy Spirit. For You said, “It is not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord.” Give us the strength of Your Holy Spirit, for we are nothing and we cannot do anything without Your help, Your grace, and Your strength.

Help Deacon Loyal, who has been loyal tonight. Help Sister Bliss, who has been faithful for multiple years now. She has never told me exactly at what point she got saved, but I know that she is much younger than I am in the Lord, and I pray that she will stay strong in the Lord in these strange, perilous, and difficult days.

Crush and crucify our wicked, evil, and ungodly sinful nature within each and every one of us. Fill us tonight with the fullness and the power, the unction and the anointing, the fruit and the liberty, Lord, of Your Holy Spirit. Put a guard over our hearts, our minds, our tongues, our attitudes, and our temperaments, that we will not sin against You. Lord, help us to number our days, and in each of those days, help us to love right, live right, think right, and do right. Wash our sins away in the blood of Christ, make us to be whiter than snow on the inside.

Holy Father God, I pray that You will bless and anoint the reading of Your Holy Word in Job chapter 16 tonight. Speak to our hearts as we live in this sin-cursed world. Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, please forgive us and cleanse us of all of our sins. But not only that, Lord, break the band of wickedness, evil, and sin in all of our lives, and help us all to humble ourselves, to pray, to seek Your face, and to turn from our wicked ways.

Now, Lord, I know that most people here tonight are bored to tears during this prayer time, but they don’t know something that I know: without praying to You, Lord, we have no power, and we don’t have really anything to say with unction, anointing, and power. And without Your unction, Your anointing, and the power of Your Holy Spirit, nobody is blessed.

So, Lord, we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that You will help us all to humble ourselves, to pray, to seek Your face, to turn from our wicked ways, to repent of our wicked sins, and to give back to You our first love.

Holy Father God, I pray, Lord, for Mrs. Marika White. I thank You that she has done a little better today in controlling herself, but at the same time, she knows that she is not born again saved. And I pray that You would open her blinded eyes and unstop her deaf ears. In a very real sense, show her the light as You showed me the light, for when the light is turned on by You, then she will get saved if she accepts it. Show her the light, and I pray that she will not hold on to her pride, her stubbornness, and her rebelliousness, but come clean and believe in You and become born again.

We pray, Lord, for the salvation and protection of the Israelites and all Palestinians and all Gentiles—red, yellow, black, and white—for we are all precious in Your sight, and You have proven that because You died on the cross for our sins, were buried, and rose on the third day. Help every person here tonight to believe in You, Lord Jesus, for Your Holy Word makes it clear: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”

Holy Father God, I pray that You would cast the devil and the demons of hell and the satanic, demonic spirit of Judas, Jezebel, Sanballat, and Tobias out of my wife of over 38 years, and I pray that she will come to know Your Savior before it is too late. I pray for the salvation and the devil being cast out of Kenny Baldwin and all other preachers’ and pastors’ wives who are religious but lost, and for people in the church as well.

Lord, I pray that You would drive the herds of devils and demons out of the lives of people in the church and outside of the church in this country and around the globe. Order our steps and direct our ways. I pray tonight for every born-again saved person; help them to know that You do love them and are with them right now. Let them know that Jesus Christ loves each and every one of us who are saved, and He has said with His own mouth that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Deliver each and every one of us tonight from our distresses, our afflictions, our sins, and all of our tribulations, troubles, trials, temptations, tests, and tensions. Deliver us from all of the spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, family, and life problems that we are dealing with. Break the band of wickedness and sin in our lives and give us all sweet victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil.

Thank You, Lord, for allowing things to be as well as they are. Thank You for remembering mercy, love, and grace. Thank You for letting things work out as well as they did today, for it all could have been worse. We deserve worse; we deserve hell itself. So have continued mercy and grace upon us.

For Jesus Christ’s sake, forgive us of our sins, our faults, and our failures. Have all that we do and say tonight be done for Your glory, Your praise, and Your honor. Thank You for the millions, the many, and the manifold blessings You have bestowed upon me, my children, and thousands of other Christian people in this world. Lord, You know who Your people are.

Thank You for the privilege of prayer, the power of prayer, the peace of prayer, the purpose of prayer, and the priority of prayer. Thank You for Your Holy Word that says men are always to pray and not to faint, and that says, “Ask, and ye shall receive; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Let Your will be done in each and every one of our lives. Speak to our hearts from Your Holy Word. Bless it, functionize it, and anoint it from on high. Help us not just to get excited about it, but to live by it and enjoy the benefits of living by it. Prepare all of us tonight for good days and bad days, for celebrations, tribulations, and tragedies, for weddings and funerals, for life and death. In Jesus Christ’s name I do pray, and for His sake. Amen.

Ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, turn in your Bibles to Job chapter 16. We’re not going to be here long tonight, but I firmly believe in praying a full prayer at night around this time or sooner, and whenever you can get an opportunity to do that with other people, it is even better. That is why I did that.

Miserable Comforters: When Friends Add Pain to Suffering

Do you have a friend that every time God blesses you or does something good for you, it seems like that so-called friend cannot be happy for you without trying to share something good that happened to them? There are many people that way, and I would suggest to you that they are not your friends. The people who are truly your friends are people who are happy for you that God has blessed you and is showing you favor and grace.

I believe that’s going to be the title right now: Miserable Comforters. Think about that phrase. These people are there; they are supposed to be comforting you, and it really turns out that it would have been better if they had not taken that long journey to see Job. Sometimes you feel that way about your friends, your so-called friends—these people who only want to come around when you are down and have lost everything, when you are going through trials and tribulations. They never came when your house was destroyed or your children were killed. These Negroes here, these people, they never come when you are doing good. As long as they can hear from somebody that you are doing good and God has blessed you, they are not going to come. They are not going to call. The only time these miserable comforters come is when you are doing very bad, when you are not doing well at all. They gloat; they have a spirit of gloating.

These are not your friends. I told my family, I told Mrs. White’s family, when we had a death in the family, I said, “Don’t come down here clowning. You never even called her. You never wished her happy birthday. You didn’t go to her graduation. You never offered any money to help your so-called grandchildren, your nieces, and your nephews. You never cared for them. So don’t come down here clowning.”

I am against phony funerals where you have the miserable comforters come who are supposed to be patting you on the back and comforting you, but they are snickering behind their fake smiles and grins. They are glad that you are going through some pain. I call these people the funeral crowd, and I am encouraging people: let’s kill the funeral game. To hell with the funeral game, people.

Now, if you didn’t call and ask how they were doing when they were doing well, when they really needed your help—they were raising a family of nine, and you could have just sent a money order, sent a check for $50 to buy some groceries, to buy some Pampers—but you wanted them to come crawling to you because you wanted them to fail in the first place, because you didn’t want them to marry so-and-so in the first place.

Here is what I’m saying to all of these miserable comforters who want to show up when there is a death in the family, who want to come give you a fake hug when hell has broken loose like in Job’s life. They don’t want to see you doing well. They don’t want to come by and shoot the breeze with you, in the words of my little brother Mark, and kick it with you. The only time they want to come and be miserable comforters is when things are going south.

These people are not your friends, and I wouldn’t let them come. I’m telling all people, I’m changing the funeral game. Everybody does not need to come to a funeral in the family. If you are a Negro, be white or black, and you never picked up a phone, you never emailed, you never texted, you don’t even know the child, you don’t even know the person, we really don’t need for you to come. You never lifted a finger, you never helped, you never informed us of what you are doing, and you never even prayed for the person. Stay home. We don’t need you showing up and showing your behind at a funeral, in some cases trying to get a hook-up and see how much money somebody has and all that foolishness.

Listen to me: I think most funerals need to be downsized. Some funeral homes need to be put out of business. Let us be real. If all you are is a miserable comforter, we don’t need you. That’s what Job called you: Miserable comforters, when friends add pain to suffering.

If you are not going to be like Sister Bliss, who is going to jump in and help, and like my daughter, Daniela Danny Whiting, who is going to jump in and help and try to handle the situation and take care of them, you don’t need to come. If you are not going to help, why are you there? Just to gloat and be secretly happy about somebody else’s pain and misery? I don’t even want to see your face.

For what? You are going to come after 20-something years? You never called the child, your own grandchild? You never wanted to wish her happy birthday or find out about her birthday? Because you are full of hell and the devil? You are supposed to be a grandmother? Because you can’t have your way with somebody else’s child? You stay home. The last thing on earth we need are some miserable comforters.

Verse number one: “Then Job answered and said, ‘I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.’” Job called them miserable comforters. Job picked up on what these guys were about. They were not there to help. They really didn’t know what they were talking about. They were there to be miserable comforters. No good comforters are you all.

Dr. Matthew Henry said that Eliphaz had represented Job’s discourses as unprofitable, and Job here gives his friends the same treatment, the same character. Those who pass censures—and the prosperity of the gospel didn’t help, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you, Sister Bliss. I would get rid of these friends, Sister Bliss. These miserable comforters, the only time they want to come around is when you are doing bad, when you are miserable. They don’t want to help. They don’t want to make things better. They just want to go back with the fake comfort of knowing they did their part.

“Well, I went to her funeral.” Why didn’t you come to her graduation? Why didn’t you come to her birthday party when she was alive? Why didn’t you even ask for their birthdays? The devil is a lie. Do you know there are many people who have come to the end of their lives having neglected people whom they call family and didn’t do what they should have done? Now you can’t go back.

Those who pass censures must expect to have—Dr. Matthew Henry notes that what Job says of his friends is true of all creatures in comparison with God. That’s why I played that song before some of you got here, but we heard it: “All I need is King Jesus, and I don’t need anybody else.” Because Jesus is going to be there. God is going to be there when the end comes, when the head-on collision comes, when cancer comes. God will be there. That’s right, Sister Bliss, Jesus Christ will be there.

I’m telling everybody now: because Jesus Christ said the love of many will wax cold, and that has happened. They don’t care about you anymore as they used to. The love of many has waxed cold. For many people, they are going to go to the old folks’ home, the nursing home. They will be there by themselves until they die. And then, after the person dies, here come the fake family members trying to see what’s in the will for them.

The love of many has waxed cold, my friends. I’m here to tell you, God is going to be the only one—Jesus Christ is going to be the only one genuinely there in the nursing home with you until the day you die. Sad to say, I know of a man who is telling everybody, the last place you want to go and die is in a nursing home. He is a nurse and a natural health food kind of person. He is telling people on TikTok, “Do not go. I have worked in nursing homes. That is not where you want to go and die. You’re going to lose everything. You don’t know who you may get to help you, and most nursing home people are overworked.” He said he had a job one time where he worked the shift pretty much by himself, maybe with one other person, and he was responsible for 72 people. Nobody can do that. Those numbers don’t match.

I’m telling all of you over 60, you need to take care of yourselves. You don’t want to go to the nursing home. It is going to be bad. Drink some hibiscus tea to lower your blood pressure naturally. Get some ginger and turmeric. Take a teaspoon of that every day with some pepper. By all means, you need to stay out of the nursing home. It is almost like a prison.

But just know, make sure you trust Christ as your Savior and have Jesus with you, because He is going to be the only one there. Your children are not going to come like you would like for them to come. You may have one who might come by and visit before you die, but the rest will see you when you die, when they think they can get the house, the car, and the money from you.

This is why you need to know Jesus, so none of those things move me, because I have the best friend in the world. As long as I have King Jesus, I don’t need nobody else. Jesus is the greatest friend of all time. He is going to be there—that is guaranteed. That is a wonderful thing to know.

What I’m trying to tell you is that some of you are going to die alone in the hospital, in the hospice, or in the nursing home, humanly speaking. The only Someone who will be there to look after you is God and Jesus Christ. That’s how humble and loving God and Jesus Christ are. They will carry you home if you are saved and born again. Compared to God and Jesus Christ, all people are treacherous—they don’t love you as they should.

One time or another, we shall be made to see and own that miserable comforters are they all. If you want a human being beside you as you go through life—which I think you should work out through God’s holy matrimony program—if I were you, I would pray for a mate because that journey is going to be a little bit easier if you have somebody with you. They may not be all that, but a little help is better than no help.

He adds that when under convictions of sin or the arrests of death, only the blessed Spirit can comfort effectively and effectually. All others without Him do it miserably. If they don’t do it in God, if they don’t do it in Jesus, it’s going to be a bunch of miserable comforters. If you’re not bringing God, if you’re not bringing prayer, if you’re not bringing Jesus, if you’re not bringing the Holy Spirit, if you’re not bringing a hymn to sing, then it’s just going to be a miserable, comfortless experience.

Shall we pray?

Holy Father God, I pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I praise and thank You, Lord, for Your Holy Word that causes us to look at hard things, hard situations, and truth. I pray for the salvation of the lost, the revival of the saved, the healing of the sick, and the comfort of the grieving and the mourning. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray and for His sake. Amen.

Dear friend of mine, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Jesus Christ said it first and said it best—the most important words in the history of the world: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Pray and ask Him to save you.

There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus. That word “lowly” is connected to Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ is humble and meek—so lowly that He will reach down low and walk with you and have His angels carry you to heaven. He will oversee your death. That’s a friend for you. He is going to oversee it. Your family may not come. Your children may not oversee it, but Jesus is going to be there because the Bible says precious in His sight is the death of His saints.

There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus. No, not one. That’s why Aretha Franklin sang that song: “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Believe in Him. That’s the starting point. If you’re not married, pray to Him about it. If you want a mate of the opposite sex and you want to participate in holy matrimony, that’s a good thing. That will get you to where you need to go, having somebody with you. The Bible says two is better than one. If you have Jesus and a spouse and children, you have your own family. If other family members don’t want to try to help, that’s fine. You don’t need any miserable comforters around you anyway, bringing up old mess and old foolishness.

As long as you have Jesus, King Jesus, you don’t need anybody else. In fact, some of us are too codependent and so dependent upon family folk. That’s not good. It’s not all about family; it’s all about God. God is the one who created the family. So God bless you, dear friends, tonight. Lord willing, I’ll see you in a few hours. There’s so much going on, so many threats and attacks of the devil, and so forth. Pray for me as I pray for thee.

For those of you who are not saved, let’s pray the sinner’s prayer, believing in your heart in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for your sins, was buried, and rose on the third day. Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins. He paid your sin debt. All you have to do is believe in Him.

Shall we pray?

Holy Father God, have mercy and grace upon my dark soul. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. Wash all of my sins away in the holy blood of Christ, and make me, Lord, to be whiter than snow on the inside. I believe in You, Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that You suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, were buried, and rose on the third day. Lord Jesus Christ, please come into my heart and into my spirit and save my soul today. Help me to repent of my sins. Help me to hate my sins, such as lying, stealing, dishonoring my parents, and dishonoring You, God, by taking Your name in vain. Help me to permanently change from the inside out. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray and for His sake. Amen.

The more you understand of the Word of God, the better your life will be, because the Bible is like a roadmap to life.

For those of you who prayed the sinner’s prayer and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, your next steps are:

1. Get baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. You go under the water (no sprinkling) and come back up.
2. Find a good, reputable, Bible-believing church where you live. Go there and let them know you have been instructed, given the gospel, and got saved. Tell them you have been instructed to find a church to get baptized in. The best way you can find a church is to go to the racetrack gas station, one of those big gas stations that leads out of town to where most people go to work. Pull in there around 4, 5, 6, or 7 at the latest—don’t mess with these people if it gets into the 8 o’clock hour because they are going to work. Get there when the early bird people, the salt of the earth people, are there. They will get a big cup, fill it with coffee or soda, grab a donut or a sausage biscuit, and shoot the breeze a little bit. Catch them in the store if you can. If they have to pump gas, you have to walk and talk. Just ask them, “What is a truly good church in town that’s not playing?” They will tell you and tell you how to get there. That is where you call and go. They will set you up to get baptized.
3. Pray every day. Pray the Lord’s Prayer found in Matthew chapter 6. Pray like King David three times a day. Pray like Daniel three times a day. Prayer is going to be and should be a big part of your life going forward. Pray without ceasing, the Bible says.
4. Read the Bible. There has been a debate going on for many years: Should you pray first and then read the Bible, or read the Bible first and then pray? It really does not make that much of a difference. I pray first and then I read the Bible because prayer gives you the power from God to understand the Bible. Read the Bible every day. It is your necessary food. You are going to get weak and tired if you don’t read the Bible and pray every day. I would encourage you to start in the Gospel of John.
5. Obey the Bible. That is the most important thing. Nothing is really going to happen in your life positively if you don’t obey the Bible.
6. Tell other people about Jesus Christ. Be a witness for the Lord.

However, his wife, Meriqua Whyte—motivated by Satan, with a Pharaoh-style pride mixed with the well-known female Jamaican-style pride, stubbornness, rebelliousness, and witchcraft—has been his greatest Judas enemy in the world and has been what Paul spoke of: a “messenger of Satan” and a “thorn in the flesh.” Amazingly, and by the grace of God, that Satanic evil opposition has spurred Daniel Whyte III on to preach the Gospel probably more times than any man on record. Before they were married, Daniel Whyte III told his wife Meriqua Whyte that they would not do family life as her parents did, because their married life was hellacious and ended in divorce, as did some of her other family members, including the aunt she was living with. He also told his wife they would not do family life as his parents did, because it was also hellacious and out of order since his mother was the head of the household, not his father. But thanks be to God, they never got a divorce. Whyte told his wife before they got married that they were going to do it God’s way according to Ephesians chapters 5 and 6, or no way at all. And then he asked his wife, “Are you willing to do marriage God’s way according to Ephesians chapters 5 and 6?” And she said yes. Whyte told her before they got married that if she did not live up to her end of the deal, all bets were off.

Because Daniel Whyte III’s wife, Meriqua Whyte, was so proud, unsubmissive, stubborn, and rebellious after they got married, God led him to read Ephesians chapters 5 and 6 every day in their family devotions throughout their marriage. In the first year of their marriage, Daniel Whyte III also gave his wife a list of verses for women from the Word of God for her to read, which she still reads to this day. He also bought her many books to read to help her be the wife God wanted her to be.

Whyte realized early in the marriage that his wife was not a born-again, saved person even though she lied and said she was before they got married. After over 37 years of marriage, she is still not saved, never bearing any fruit of a saved person, to the point of not even wanting to tell her children, “I love you” and not wanting to hug them when they were little children, even after her husband told her to do so. She also hated the daily family devotions that her husband led and tried to hinder them. She also demonically hated and tried to hinder every Gospel preaching service to this very day.

However, only by the grace of God, they are still married, and despite the devil constantly working through his wife to try to hinder him from preaching the Word of God, he is still preaching the Gospel and the Word of God live and on-demand. Mrs. Meriqua Whyte’s Apology to her Husband and Their 7 Children for not Being a Biblical Wife or Mother

Mrs. Meriqua Whyte, the Wife of Daniel Whyte III, Gave him the Best Father’s Day Gift Ever About 10 Years Ago When She Unexpectedly and Voluntarily Apologized for the First Time to Him and Their 7 Children for Not Being the Wife, Mother, and Christian Example of the Woman She Should Have Been Over the Past 37 Years of Marriage

Here is what Mrs. Meriqua Whyte wrote ten years ago after verbally apologizing to the entire family on Father’s Day, right before church service:

Over thirty years of marriage. Over thirty years of ups and downs. Over thirty years of trying to make our problems a personal thing between my husband and me. Thankfully, he did not allow me to do that and kept telling me it was between God and me—over thirty years of acting on my feelings and not on what the Bible says. Over thirty years of refusing to obey God’s simple command to a wife—to be obedient to your husband in all things. Over thirty years of disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, and dishonesty, all rooted in pride. Over thirty years of simply not choosing to mature as a Christian.

God has been dealing with me for over thirty years now about changing my attitude and behavior as a wife, which has manifested itself in disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, dishonesty, having an ungodly attitude and spirit, and simply not being the wife, mother, or example of a Christian woman that I should have been throughout the years. (By the way, for those of you who may be thinking that my disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, and dishonesty have resulted in adultery, I will say here that I have never committed any adultery or had sex with another man besides my husband, Daniel Whyte III, since I was born.)

God kept telling me I needed to stop my rebellious and stubborn behavior, apologize to my husband and children, and get my heart right with him, my husband, and my children. He sent others my way to tell me how to behave:

• My husband, but I didn’t want to hear it from him
• Other Christian women speakers
• Other preachers
• Books and other materials, but I would not take heed

I knew what to do, but I chose not to do it. The devil had me thinking and believing—as he is having a lot of wives and mothers think and believe—that your relationship with your husband and how you respond to him, whether positive or negative, will not affect your relationship with your children or your relationship with God. I say without hesitation that this is one of the devil’s lies, and sad to say, many wives and mothers are falling for this lie.

Another lie of the devil that Christian wives are falling for is that you can still have a strong relationship with God without being submissive to your husband. Lie! Lie! Lie! There is no truth to this. I know because I have experienced this and am still experiencing this as I am going through this breaking process, which is not happening overnight.

Even throughout my years of rebelliousness, stubbornness, and pride, I still kept praying the prayer I used to pray daily before I got married: “Lord, make me be exactly what You want me to be. Lord, break, make, and mold me into what you want me to be.” Well, God took that prayer seriously, and once you accept Him, He will begin the breaking process. It’s up to us how long that breaking process will take. For me, sad to say, it has taken over 30 years, and the breaking is not complete. In what way is God breaking me down right now? Well, our children have grown up. The three oldest have gone through and are still going through college, have gotten their degrees, and some are working on their second, third, and fourth degrees, launching their careers and moving out. God slapped me into reality and truly intensified the breaking process. My husband told me before our first child was born and repeatedly while the children were young that my job was to love our children and make positive memories with them and that if I did that, I would have a wonderful relationship with them as adults in the time to come. Well, I disobeyed God and my husband, who did not let up on his duties. And he has a wonderful relationship with our children, even the girls, and I don’t. However, God led me to finally break the day before Father’s Day, and while I was helping my husband get dressed to preach, I asked him if I could apologize to him and the entire family. That’s the first time I ever did that on my own. Throughout the years, he has always told me that I needed to get my heart right with God, him, and my children; otherwise, I would never have the joy and peace of the Lord in my life. However, I kept on lying and denying that I was the problem.

Here is what I said to my husband and children on Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2017, the day before Father’s Day. My husband told the entire family that this was the best Father’s Day gift I have ever given to him:

“Daddy, children, I apologize for not being the wife, mother, and example of a Christian woman I should have been throughout the years. I have shown nothing but pride, disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, and a bad attitude and spirit toward God and my husband in front of you. My disobedience and rebelliousness have caused much unnecessary unrest and upheaval in the family. As my husband told me, things could have gone much better if I had obeyed God’s word from the beginning. Please accept my apology, and I am asking you to forgive me.”

The diminishing of peace and joy in my life throughout the years I brought on myself. Not having a proper relationship with God, my husband, and my children, I brought on myself—all because I chose the disobedient route. My number one desire is to live a life of peace—peace with God, my husband, and my children. I have learned that peace will not come as long as I live in disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, and pride.

I will end this with two notes: (1) Happy Father’s Day to my husband: you have been a great husband and father. (2) Happy Children’s Day to my children: You all have been great children. I have no complaints whatsoever against my husband and, of course, children; you have never been at fault. My bad behavior is all on me, and I’m sorry I put you through this. May God bless your lives, and I love you.

Below is the passage in the Bible that Daniel Whyte III read in their family devotions every day for decades. It covers the biblical duties of the husband, the wife, and the children, and includes how to fight against the devil who is seeking to destroy the family.

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

The Gospel in a Nutshell

If you were to die today, where would you go: Heaven or Hell? If you’re not sure, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”

Jesus Christ said the most important words ever spoken in the history of the world when He said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

The Most Important Question in the World: Have You Been Twice Born?

This is the “Chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #447, titled, “The Big Question.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says: that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

“Have You Been Born Again?”

The question is not, “Have you joined a church?” or “Are you trying to do your best?” or “Do you have religion?” but, “Are you twice-born?” Jesus Christ said in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

We enter the physical world by birth. Spiritual life, likewise, is entered with a birth. We become members of a human family by birth; we become members of the family of God by birth, by being “born again.” There is no other way to get into the human family except by birth, and there is no other way to get into God’s family except by the new birth. Neither education, nor cultivation, nor reformation, nor “turning over a new leaf,” will accomplish this. What is needed is not a new “leaf” but a new “life”! “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).

A New Nature Needed

By physical birth, we become partakers of human nature; by being born again, we become “partakers of the divine nature.” A Christian is the product of a divine “begetting.” The second birth is not an improvement of the old nature; it is the imparting of an entirely new nature. The old nature is hopelessly corrupt and incapable of ever being made fit for His presence. The new birth requires a creative act of the Holy Spirit. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”

Not “Trying” But “Trusting”

“Trying to follow Christ” is not Christianity. Christianity is not imitation of Christ; it is the indwelling of Christ. Christianity is not trying to do anything. It is trusting Christ, who has done it all! He has “finished the work,” and there is nothing left to do but simply to receive and trust Him. He shed His precious blood on the cross, and the work is all done once and forever! Cease trying and begin trusting! Believers will progressively become more and more like Christ, but by His power, not their own.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Simply “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible says in 1 John 5:1, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.” The Bible states in John 1:12-13, “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

You are born again, you become a Christian by trusting a Person—receiving a Person. The very moment you do this, the Lord Jesus Christ comes in and life begins!

What Is Meant By “Believe”?

To “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” means more than simply believing the historic facts concerning Him. Intellectual belief about Christ is not sufficient. The belief that brings salvation must be “with the heart,” that is, with the whole being. This belief also includes repentance: “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible states in Acts 17:30, “God… now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.”

The faith which saves, then, includes the necessity to repent and to receive Christ as Savior and Lord, to rest upon Him alone for salvation. It means to trust Him so utterly and completely that, if He should fail, there would be no hope at all!

May I Know That I Am Born Again?

This is an important question. We know that we are born again by the testimony of God’s Word. God says in John 5:24, “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Have you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as explained by God’s Word? If so, then you are saved, you are “born again,” you have “passed from death unto life.” God says so! Take God at His Word, and go on your way rejoicing!

One Final Word

You may “belong to a church,” you may be “trying to do the best you can,” you may be “striving to live right.” Your outward life may be the model of moral correctness, and you may be looked up to, honored, revered, and respected. Yet, if you have not been “born again,” you are just as lost as if you had never heard of Christ. Yes, you may teach in the Sunday school, read the Bible, sing, shout, “feel happy,” and all the rest—but if you have never been “born again,” you are still in your sins and a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you want to be saved from the wrath to come and from an eternity in Hell, and if you believe that Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead, and you are willing to trust Jesus Christ with all of your heart so you can go to Heaven, please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer:

Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
