RAW TRANSCRIBED SERMON: From the Ashes to the Throne: When Family and Friends Fail You, Faith Looks Up to God. G.L.S.I.—Whyte House Reading of the Old Testament (Job 16:10-16) / G.L.S.I.—Whyte House Early Morning Devotional, with Daniel Whyte III (Please note this is a raw transcription of a spoken sermon. We are not attempting to rewrite the transcript into perfect prose. As you read the transcript of this Bible study, hopefully you can sense the spirit of the sermon because you are reading spoken speech.)
We’re in Job chapter 16, by the grace of God. And look with me at verse 10 to get you back into the groove of things. I was going to say verse 9. We’re not supposed to start at verse 9; we’re supposed to start at verse 10, but to get you back into the groove—yea, into the spirit of the passage—let’s start at 16, verse 8.
“You have shriveled me up, and it is a witness against me; my leanness rises up against me and bears witness to my face.” Dr. Jameson, Fawcett, and Brown note that the Hebrew word can mean to draw together, yielding the double meaning of binding or wrinkling. They explain that Job’s leanness is his wretched physical state. It is construed by his friends as proof of his guilt. The PC observes that Job’s leanness was taken by his friends as evidence of divine judgment. Leanness refers to how people shrivel up because of sickness and disease. How many of you have seen folk in the church who were fat, overweight, or obese, and then they got cancer, and you could not even recognize them?
Verse 9: “He tears me in his wrath, who hates me? He gnashes at me with his teeth; my adversary sharpens his gaze on me.” Again, Drs. Jameson, Fawcett, and Brown note the imagery is from a wild beast. So God is portrayed as tearing Job apart. Dr. Matthew Henry similarly sees God depicted as an enemy who “teareth me in his wrath.” Did Job maintain his integrity, retain his integrity? Yes, but he came very close to saying some negative things about God. God is not our enemy. “He teareth me in his wrath and gnasheth upon me with his teeth.” Job did not know what was going on because God did not tell him. The PC explained that Job uses these fierce metaphors to describe the intensity of his affliction, though he does not actually believe God hates him—otherwise he would have ceased to call upon him.
And before we read verse 10, shall we pray?
Holy Father God, we pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. It was you that brought me through one of the most productive weeks I have had down through the years, and an almost perfect weekend, which is very rare—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—and I give you the glory, and I give you the praise, and I give you the honor, for all of it is due your name. And Holy Father God, I praise you and I thank you for your Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, your Holy Spirit, and your Holy Word. I praise you and thank you for the privilege and the power and the peace of prayer. I praise you and thank you, Lord, for the millions, the many, and the manifold blessings—the multiplied millions of blessings—that you have bestowed upon us, my children and I particularly, down through the years, and I give you the glory, the praise, and the honor.
And Holy Father God, I thank you that I am in touch with them every day. I praise you and thank you, Lord, for Sister Bliss, who is a spiritual daughter, and I praise you and thank you for what she does and has done for a couple of years now. And Holy Father God, I praise you and thank you for Daniela, Danny White, and what she has done down through the years. I thank you, Lord, for all of my children, my quiver full. And Holy Father God, I pray that you will have mercy and grace upon each and every one of us who name the name of Christ. Thank you for Deacon Moamp who showed up and showed out this past weekend, Deacon Atkins.
For Jesus Christ’s sake, where we have sinned in word, thought, or deed, please forgive us, Lord, of our sins, our faults, and our failures, as we from our hearts, by your grace, forgive those who have sinned against us. Deliver my children, deliver me, deliver everybody who is saved and born again here today from temptation, evil, and sin. Grant us, Lord, your grace and your strength and the power of your Holy Spirit to love right, to live right, to think right, to do right, to act right, and to do that which is pleasing in your sight.
And Holy Father God, I thank you for holy matrimony. Even though some would consider that I am in a bad marriage because my wife, Mrs. Marika White, has chosen to be proud and stubborn and rebellious—Lord, I thank you for holy matrimony, and I thank you for this gift that you have given to mankind and to womankind. And Lord, I do pray that, and I’m thankful, Lord, to you for the thousands who have gotten married, even people who are not saved. The institution is strong and mighty, and I pray, Lord, for thousands more to come to know you as Savior as well and to get married. It is that good.
And Holy Father God, I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray for salvation and spiritual, family and life, financial and material, protection and provision, mental and physical blessings, Lord, upon all of the people here today. Mr. P., Erada, William, Janet, and everybody over 2,700 with us, I do pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you will indeed have mercy and grace upon us. Each and every one of us, and forgive us, Lord, of our sins, faults, and failures. Crush and crucify, Lord, our flesh and the old man within us, and fill all of us who are saved and born again by your grace with the fullness and the power of your Holy Spirit.
And Lord, I do pray for the true and pure salvation of Mrs. Marika White. Help her to realize that life is more than food and drink; it is about you, putting you first and serving you. And Lord, help her to see the light. Cast the devil and the demons of hell and the satanic demonic spirit of Judas, Jezebel, Sanballat, and Tobias out of her heart, her mind, her soul, and spirit. Do the same for her mother, her aunts, and her siblings.
And it’s so good to see Brother Mark with us, Lord. We pray for him as well. We thank you for him. And Lord, we pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you would bless his father and bless his family. And Lord, I do pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you will lead us, guide us, and direct us throughout this morning, early afternoon, throughout this evening, and night. Let your will be done, even, Lord, in the heat dome that so many of us are in.
And Holy Father God, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I pray for the salvation and the protection of the Israelites. I pray, Lord, for the salvation and the protection of all Gentile nations and all people who are at war. And Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you would deliver and protect all Christians from persecution and assassination and martyrdom around the world. Protect us all from ourselves, our flesh, and the devil, and from the demons of hell, and from evil people in the family, evil people in the church, and evil people in the world. And Holy Father God, I do pray that you will deliver us from Satan and all of his messengers and thorns in the flesh people. Just cut that off. Just cut that off.
And Holy Father God, I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you will deliver us, Lord, this morning and throughout this day from all of our distresses and afflictions. Deliver us from all of our tribulations and troubles and trials and temptations and tests and tensions. And Lord, deliver us also, Lord, from all of our spiritual and mental, physical and emotional, family and financial, legal, student loan debt, student progress problems, troubles and difficulties that we are facing in our lives today. And Holy Father God, at the same time, help all of us be thankful to you for allowing things to be as well as they are, for they could be worse and they should be worse because of how evil we are in your sight. And Lord, I don’t even know how you can stand us, but I thank you for your mercy, your love, and your grace.
And Holy Father God, I pray that you would indeed prepare us, Lord, for good days and bad days. Prepare us, Lord, for celebrations and tribulations and tragedies. Prepare us, Lord, for weddings and funerals. Prepare us, Lord, for life and death in every way. Our Lord, help us to take you seriously. Help us to take your word seriously and not to play in your face. And Holy Father God, I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you will have everything we do and say to be done for your glory, your praise, and your honor, for the glory, praise, and honor of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray and forsake. Amen. Crucify our flesh, Lord, and fill us who are saved with your Holy Spirit in every sense of that prayer throughout this day. Thank you again for three back-to-back days where the ministry flourished and I was able to—so much so I was able to get some rest this morning and some relaxation. And I give you the glory, praise, and honor for that. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray and forsake. Amen.
Okay, Job 16, verse 10: “They gape at me with their mouth; they strike me reproachfully on the cheek; they gather together against me.” How many of you servants of the Lord have felt that way? I believe that the lady who sung that song today, “Long as I Got King Jesus, I Don’t Need Nobody Else.” So glad to have you. Monk, Kevin, 106111, everybody. So glad to have you with us today with over 3,200 with us at this time in the middle of the day for prayer and for the reading of your holy word. Praise the Lord, Sister Mia. Repent, change. Looks like the daughter is here as well. And may God bless you. Thank you so much for your gifts to God and to Jesus Christ. And it’s so good to see you.
Matthew Henry connects this to the mocking and reproach Job received. They all see this as describing—thank you so much, may God bless you, Prophetess Mere Repent Change—they see this as describing the attacks of both God and men against Job. Of course, God was not attacking Job. Job may have felt that way because he didn’t know what was going on. Probably the first man who went through something like this, and maybe the last. We all have tribulations and troubles, but not like Job. And the Bible talks about how we ought to recognize the patience of Job.
Verse 11: “God has delivered me to the ungodly and turned me over to the hands of the wicked.” And sometimes you may feel like that a little bit throughout your life, but not like Job. And make that a phrase in your life: “I’m going through, but I’m not going through like Job.” Let me help you. Job lost 10 children in one day. Have you ever done that? Have you ever experienced that? Ten. I said ten. God allowed it to happen. God allowed Satan to do that to Job. You say, “Preacher, I don’t understand that.” Job didn’t either. But God would allow things to happen in your life, Dwight McKissick. Okay? God will allow things to happen in your life, negative things, and they will turn out always for your good. But that’s not what you’re feeling right now, because see, the prosperity gospel—before God destroyed it—deceived you into thinking that everything is supposed to go wonderful and dandy for you. And God never promised that, and Jesus Christ never promised that.
Okay? Dr. Matthew Henry observes, “God hath delivered me to the ungodly and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.” He felt that way, and he was talking about wicked people, but God did allow the devil, the most wicked being in the universe, basically turned Job over to him in a good way. He has so—God has so much confidence in Job that he would retain his integrity system here, repent, change, that he would not quit, that he would continue to believe in God, and God won. God and Job won. They beat the devil at his game. Glory be to God. Okay? And that’s what it’s all about. We’re in a warfare for a reason.
Okay? The PC notes that Job sees God as the ultimate sovereign behind all his sufferings. So he was getting there, but he was not there—even when wicked men are the instruments, even when Satan is the instrument.
Verse 12: “I was at ease, but he has shattered me.” Job was flourishing. Job was doing great. Ten great children, nice house, rich, the richest man in the area, respected. He was flourishing. He was doing well, but he has shattered me. “He also has taken me by my neck and shaken me to pieces.” Have you ever felt that way before? “He has set me up for his target.” Dr. Matthew Henry said, “I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder; he hath also taken me by my neck and shaken me to pieces and set me up for his mark.” The Expositor’s Bible Commentary describes Job as like a fortress, beleaguered and stormed by some irresistible strong enemy—the devil himself. Dr. David Guzik notes the progression of violence in Job’s language, from being at ease to being shattered completely.
Verse 13: “His archers surround me; he pierces my heart and does not pity; he pours out my gall on the ground.” Dr. Jamison, Fawcett, and Brown explain, “God lets me always recover strength so as to torment me ceaselessly. His archers compass me round about; he cleaveth my reins asunder and doeth not spare; he pours out my gall upon the ground.” Dr. Matthew Henry sees this as a vivid description of intense physical suffering and pain. The stings and sores of his disease are like arrows shot from every side that rankled in his flesh. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s in the news today that in an eastern coast town, an area, a biblical plague similar to this one—boils roll on your skin—and that sort of thing is happening today. They call it a biblical plague.
Verse 14: “He breaks me with wound upon wound; he runs at me like a warrior.” This is what Job was imagining in his mind, but the devil was doing all of this, not God. God allowed it to test Job. God would allow things to happen in your life—bad things to happen in your life—to test you. And God’s tests are real. They’re not like the professors—with over 3,900 with us—you know, some of these professors, they give you the answers and tell you, “Okay, here are the answers. Y’all go and study.” There’s no studying; you just read it. And then, you know, these professors who give open book tests and all this kind of foolishness. God does not play that. God does not do that. The test is real. God is real and the test is real. And the devil, who is the instrument, he doesn’t play either. He’s trying to destroy Job. He’s trying to get Job to curse God and die, just like Job’s wife tried to get him to do. You say, “Well, why did Job’s wife turn against him?” Because the devil is the author of the spirit of Judas. The devil used his beautiful wife. You know Job had a beautiful wife, ten children. And Job didn’t have a bunch of wives either. He was a good man; he eschewed evil. He had only one wife, as far as we know. And she turned around after hell was unleashed against him. That’s right. Satan unleashed hell against Job to try to get Job. Because Job told God to his face—I will make Job curse you to your face. “You get that hedge from around him and all of that protection you got on him, and you stop blessing him with everything, and I guarantee you he will curse you to your face.” God said, “Have you considered my servant Job?” Lord have mercy.
Okay? Let’s see. That’s what this was about. Dr. Matthew Henry observes, “He breaketh me with breach upon breach; he runneth upon me like a giant.” Dr. Kyle and Dr. Delish note the cumulative nature of Job’s suffering—blow after blow. This is what Satan was doing to Job, ladies and gentlemen. Blow after blow, blow after blow. Like Muhammad Ali fighting Frazier—blow after blow, punishing, punishing blows.
Verse 15: “I have sewn sackcloth over my skin and laid my head in the dust.” Dr. Matthew Henry said, “I have—based upon the word—sewed sackcloth upon my skin and defiled my horn in the dust.” Dr. Jameson, Fawcett, and Brown explained that “in the dust” notes Job’s humiliation from former greatness. To throw oneself in the dust was a sign of mourning and humbling yourself. Okay? Eliphaz had represented Job as unhumbled under his affliction. Like some today, some commentators are saying that the false prophet—and I agree with them—Karn, false prophet Karn, it seems like all of his prophecies are false and everything he says is a lie. I forget his first name—Brian Carn. And I’ll tell you, when the video came out about him visiting his father, I’ll tell you what, Valentino, that video seemed to me, knowing black men in the South, I believe the father didn’t say anything because he was ashamed of his son and what his son had done. And his son, Brian Carn, they’re talking about “Your name is Brian Carn Sr. and I’m Brian Carn Jr. You’re local. I made the name national.” And then the commentator said, “Yeah, you made it national by going to federal prison.” And they’re saying that he is unhumbled because he almost swore to his church that he would never spend a day in prison. And now he’s in prison for nine months. And I think he’s going to get more. You know why? Because all of these people are watching him—the government, they’re watching him. Law enforcement, they’re watching him. And they may feel like, “We’re going to add on three more months to your sentence because you said all of this stuff that you’re never going to be put in prison and all of this foolishness. You’re not showing repentance for your sins, your crimes.” And so that’s what some of the commentators are saying, that he’s not humble. He’s arrogant. He should be humble—very humble—with his head in the dust and his body full of ashes because of the wicked crimes and the false prophecies and the lies and the whoremongering that he has done. The commentators acted like the whoremongering is documented. I have not seen any documentation. But I’ll tell you what, that lady who got caught on video talking about—talking about, “I don’t want, I want my prophet, and I hope an earthquake hits to stop my prophet from going to prison.” Well, he’s in prison and the earthquake has not come. But all of us, all of us ought to be humble at all times. Job—they consider Job as unhumble under his affliction. And Job was humble. “No,” says Job, “I know better things. The dust is now the fittest place for me.”
And our final verse for today, ladies and gentlemen, verse 16: “My face is flushed from weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death.” Dr. Matthew Henry connects this to Christ. In this, he reminds us of Jesus Christ, who was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, and pronounced those blessed that mourn, for they shall be comforted. In a commentary, Dr. Robert Alden emphasizes that Job’s weeping was not just emotional, but a physical manifestation of his deep anguish. He had soul pain.
Shall we pray? Holy Father God, I pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. And I praise you and thank you, Lord, for your holy word, your holy spirit. And thank you for ministering to our hearts today, speaking to our hearts from your Holy Word and reminding us of what Job went through as our example, reminding us of the patience of Job and how he retained his integrity even though he went down real low. And none of us have gone through what Job has gone through. So Lord, help us to remain faithful to you in these last and evil days. And Lord, I pray for the salvation of the lost, the revival of the saved, the healing of the sick, the comfort of the grieving and the mourning. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray and for his sake. Amen.
Now, beloved, if you’re with us and you have never made that commitment to Jesus Christ, you have never truly believed in him—your commitment is made to your flesh, your sins, and the devil. You need to switch. You need to repent. You need to change. You need to make up your mind that you’re going to believe in Jesus Christ, which means you’re going to repent and change and not continue in the devil’s ways. The devil is the father of lies, the father of murder, the father of stealing, and everything else. And if you’re doing any of these things, you’re doing the devil’s work. You’re not doing God’s work. You are doing the work of the devil. Okay? If you are committing fornication, you’re committing adultery, you’re committing homosexuality—you’re doing the work of the devil. The devil is the author of sin and you’re following him. And you need to shake the devil off by believing in Jesus Christ.
The Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” The Bible says—Paul, what Jesus Christ said so wonderfully and so powerfully, the most important words in the history of the world when he said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” It’s a simple transaction. There’s nothing hard about it. Just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
Follow me in the sinner’s prayer, understanding that you need to get saved because you are a wicked, evil sinner. That’s right. I’m accusing you of being a wicked, evil sinner and I have no fear of successful contradictions. And the reason why I don’t have any fear of that is because God said you are a wicked evil sinner. I don’t care how pretty you are. I don’t care how handsome you think you are. God made all of us beautiful. Even though that beauty is still in the eye of the beholder, in God’s sight, we’re all beautiful—amazingly so. Okay, but you are ugly on the inside because of your sins. I don’t care who you are, male or female. The Holy Bible says we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Okay, you’re wicked as you can be. And because of that, you are on your way to death and hell. The Bible says the wages of sin—the payment of sin—is death. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. The man who sinneth, he shall die. The woman who sinneth shall die. We’re all going to die. People are dying left and right today. A young lady died today. Some of you saw her in movies and on TV. Pretty young lady. Only 36 years old, dropped dead. She’s in the news today. I can’t pronounce her last name, but you know who I’m talking about. 36 years old, on a beautiful Monday, dead. And one day is going to be a beautiful whatever day when you die. And the same thing that’s happening with her death is going to happen with you. This world is going to keep on turning. People are going to keep on going on. They may notice the article in the newspaper and they’ll shake their head and they’ll keep on getting up, drinking their coffee, doing what they want to do. Okay? This world is going to keep on turning long after you’re gone until God tells it to stop. And then, my dear friends, understand that you’re on your way to a devil’s hell, to the lake of fire. The Bible says all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire. And if all liars are going to have their part in the lake of fire, the Bible also talks about in that same passage, all whoremongers, all whores, all drug addicts, all pornography watchers, everybody will have their part of the lake of fire that they must go to. So that’s bad news, isn’t it? But I have some—he’s talking about being hot. It’s hot right now. And I have to cut the air conditioning off where I’m at so that you can hear me. Well, you could hear me with the air conditioning on, but it’s not perfect. I want complete silence. By the way, notice how quiet it is right now. That is because I insist on my wife of 39 years, Mrs. White, to be quiet. And I live in a very quiet neighborhood. Thanks to Deacon Mark and Deacon Robert. Glory be to God. Quiet—the most quiet neighborhood in America. Do you hear anything? I don’t. And I love it like that. So that’s why we don’t have the air conditioner so that you can hear 100% perfectly what I’m saying.
So believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. That is the solution. And believing in the Lord Jesus Christ means not only believing that he suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose on the third day, but it means you’re obeying him, following him, submitting to him as your master, as your lord, and as your king. You say, “Well, I don’t have no master, you know, slavery’s over.” Well, you got a master in Jesus. He is the master. He is the master, the lord, the savior, the king of kings, and lord of lords, okay? You need to bow down to Him and submit to Him and obey Him and do what He tells you. But Jesus Christ said that if you love me, keep my commandments. Since He is the Son of God, therefore God, all of the commandments in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. Okay?
If you want to get saved, pray the sinner’s prayer with me while you believe in your heart in Jesus Christ.
Holy Father God, have mercy and grace upon my soul and my spirit. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of all of my sins. As I now believe in you, Lord Jesus, high and lifted up, I believe that you suffered, you bled, and you died for my sins, was buried, and rose on the third day. Lord Jesus Christ, please come into my heart and into my spirit and save my soul from the burning hell and the lake of fire. Fill me with your Holy Spirit today. Help me to turn away from my evil ways. Help me to repent of my sins. And help me to change from doing evil to doing good, following you in the newness of life. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray and for his sake. Amen.
Glory be to God, ladies and gentlemen. May God bless you and may God keep you. Serve God throughout this day. I’ll see you soon. Glory be to God, everybody.

Daniel Whyte III is the president of the over-40-year-old Gospel Light Evangelistic Society International and the over-37-year-old Gospel Light House of Prayer International. He is known worldwide as the prophet who predicted the Coronavirus Plague over 10 years before it hit in recorded preaching and writing. God also led him to guide thousands through the Coronavirus Plague that killed over 20 million people because of the sins in the Judas-Laodicean church.
Daniel Whyte III’s greatest blessing in this life is his “quiver full” of 10 children—Daniella (Danni), Daniel IV, Danita Evangeline, Danae Mary-Louise, Daniqua Grace, Danyel Ezekiel, Danyelle Elizabeth Breedlove, Danielle Tekeela, Duran-Daniel, and the first Daniel IV (deceased and in heaven with the Lord)—along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Daniel Whyte III has been unblissfully but sexually satisfyingly married to his first and only wife, Meriqua Whyte of Christiana, Jamaica, for over 37 years since December 19, 1987. Jesus Christ said: “And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.” Even though many evangelicals, charismatics, and Protestants try to act as if these words of Jesus Christ are not a reality in our modern Christianity—primarily because of the Satanic-driven prosperity gospel and an over-positive philosophy, which is a lie not based in reality or biblical truth—the words of Jesus Christ are true for every person who preaches the Gospel. The outcomes of the Gospel are a changed life and opposition from family, lukewarm Christians, Laodicean-Judas pastors and churches, the world, and the devil. This is a reality in our present evil world.
While Daniel Whyte III thoroughly enjoys his married life because he did not allow his wife to have her way at any point and was and is solidly and biblically the head of his household throughout the marriage—often quoting Joshua, “As for me and my house, we’re going to serve the Lord” “up in here!”—and because his wife never failed in the very important area of sex, which he got married for in the first place to avoid sinning against God, he has especially enjoyed the privilege and joy of raising his children in the Lord virtually by himself. He served the Lord with them every day of their lives, from the time they were born until they graduated from college, became adults, and moved on.
However, his wife, Meriqua Whyte—motivated by Satan, with a Pharaoh-style pride mixed with the well-known female Jamaican-style pride, stubbornness, rebelliousness, and witchcraft—has been his greatest Judas enemy in the world and has been what Paul spoke of: a “messenger of Satan” and a “thorn in the flesh.” Amazingly, and by the grace of God, that Satanic evil opposition has spurred Daniel Whyte III on to preach the Gospel probably more times than any man on record. God has honored him because he did not “hearken to the voice of his wife.” Whyte tells other Christian men to only hearken to the voice of God and Jesus Christ—not to their wives, as so many thousands of church men have been taught by pastors and other older men throughout the years. Remember, we are in this worldwide, multi-generational mess because Adam hearkened to the voice of his wife and not to the voice of God.
Before they were married, Daniel Whyte III told his wife Meriqua Whyte that they would not do family life as her parents did, because their married life was hellacious and ended in divorce, as did some of her other family members, including the aunt she was living with. He also told his wife they would not do family life as his parents did, because it was also hellacious and out of order since his mother was the head of the household, not his father. But thanks be to God, they never got a divorce. Whyte told his wife before they got married that they were going to do it God’s way according to Ephesians chapters 5 and 6, or no way at all. And then he asked his wife, “Are you willing to do marriage God’s way according to Ephesians chapters 5 and 6?” And she said yes. Whyte told her before they got married that if she did not live up to her end of the deal, all bets were off.
Because Daniel Whyte III’s wife, Meriqua Whyte, was so proud, unsubmissive, stubborn, and rebellious after they got married, God led him to read Ephesians chapters 5 and 6 every day in their family devotions throughout their marriage. In the first year of their marriage, Daniel Whyte III also gave his wife a list of verses for women from the Word of God for her to read, which she still reads to this day. He also bought her many books to read to help her be the wife God wanted her to be.
Whyte realized early in the marriage that his wife was not a born-again, saved person even though she lied and said she was before they got married. After over 37 years of marriage, she is still not saved, never bearing any fruit of a saved person, to the point of not even wanting to tell her children, “I love you” and not wanting to hug them when they were little children, even after her husband told her to do so. She also hated the daily family devotions that her husband led and tried to hinder them. She also demonically hated and tried to hinder every Gospel preaching service to this very day.
However, only by the grace of God, they are still married, and despite the devil constantly working through his wife to try to hinder him from preaching the Word of God, he is still preaching the Gospel and the Word of God live and on-demand. His ministry reaches over 148,800 people per month with over 21,000 unique views per month, reaching 149 countries, preaching the Gospel and the Word of God in 2 to 3 services a day, 7 days a week. Glory be to God!
Mrs. Meriqua Whyte’s Apology to her Husband and Their 7 Children for not Being a Biblical Wife or Mother
Mrs. Meriqua Whyte, the Wife of Daniel Whyte III, Gave him the Best Father’s Day Gift Ever About 10 Years Ago When She Unexpectedly and Voluntarily Apologized for the First Time to Him and Their 7 Children for Not Being the Wife, Mother, and Christian Example of the Woman She Should Have Been Over the Past 37 Years of Marriage
Here is what Mrs. Meriqua Whyte wrote ten years ago after verbally apologizing to the entire family on Father’s Day, right before church service:
Over thirty years of marriage. Over thirty years of ups and downs. Over thirty years of trying to make our problems a personal thing between my husband and me. Thankfully, he did not allow me to do that and kept telling me it was between God and me—over thirty years of acting on my feelings and not on what the Bible says. Over thirty years of refusing to obey God’s simple command to a wife—to be obedient to your husband in all things. Over thirty years of disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, and dishonesty, all rooted in pride. Over thirty years of simply not choosing to mature as a Christian.
God has been dealing with me for over thirty years now about changing my attitude and behavior as a wife, which has manifested itself in disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, dishonesty, having an ungodly attitude and spirit, and simply not being the wife, mother, or example of a Christian woman that I should have been throughout the years. (By the way, for those of you who may be thinking that my disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, and dishonesty have resulted in adultery, I will say here that I have never committed any adultery or had sex with another man besides my husband, Daniel Whyte III, since I was born.)
God kept telling me I needed to stop my rebellious and stubborn behavior, apologize to my husband and children, and get my heart right with him, my husband, and my children. He sent others my way to tell me how to behave:
- My husband, but I didn’t want to hear it from him
- Other Christian women speakers
- Other preachers
- Books and other materials, but I would not take heed
I knew what to do, but I chose not to do it. The devil had me thinking and believing—as he is having a lot of wives and mothers think and believe—that your relationship with your husband and how you respond to him, whether positive or negative, will not affect your relationship with your children or your relationship with God. I say without hesitation that this is one of the devil’s lies, and sad to say, many wives and mothers are falling for this lie.
Another lie of the devil that Christian wives are falling for is that you can still have a strong relationship with God without being submissive to your husband. Lie! Lie! Lie! There is no truth to this. I know because I have experienced this and am still experiencing this as I am going through this breaking process, which is not happening overnight.
Even throughout my years of rebelliousness, stubbornness, and pride, I still kept praying the prayer I used to pray daily before I got married: “Lord, make me be exactly what You want me to be. Lord, break, make, and mold me into what you want me to be.” Well, God took that prayer seriously, and once you accept Him, He will begin the breaking process. It’s up to us how long that breaking process will take. For me, sad to say, it has taken over 30 years, and the breaking is not complete. In what way is God breaking me down right now? Well, our children have grown up. The three oldest have gone through and are still going through college, have gotten their degrees, and some are working on their second, third, and fourth degrees, launching their careers and moving out. God slapped me into reality and truly intensified the breaking process. My husband told me before our first child was born and repeatedly while the children were young that my job was to love our children and make positive memories with them and that if I did that, I would have a wonderful relationship with them as adults in the time to come. Well, I disobeyed God and my husband, who did not let up on his duties. And he has a wonderful relationship with our children, even the girls, and I don’t. However, God led me to finally break the day before Father’s Day, and while I was helping my husband get dressed to preach, I asked him if I could apologize to him and the entire family. That’s the first time I ever did that on my own. Throughout the years, he has always told me that I needed to get my heart right with God, him, and my children; otherwise, I would never have the joy and peace of the Lord in my life. However, I kept on lying and denying that I was the problem.
Here is what I said to my husband and children on Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2017, the day before Father’s Day. My husband told the entire family that this was the best Father’s Day gift I have ever given to him:
“Daddy, children, I apologize for not being the wife, mother, and example of a Christian woman I should have been throughout the years. I have shown nothing but pride, disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, and a bad attitude and spirit toward God and my husband in front of you. My disobedience and rebelliousness have caused much unnecessary unrest and upheaval in the family. As my husband told me, things could have gone much better if I had obeyed God’s word from the beginning. Please accept my apology, and I am asking you to forgive me.”
The diminishing of peace and joy in my life throughout the years I brought on myself. Not having a proper relationship with God, my husband, and my children, I brought on myself—all because I chose the disobedient route. My number one desire is to live a life of peace—peace with God, my husband, and my children. I have learned that peace will not come as long as I live in disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, and pride.
I will end this with two notes: (1) Happy Father’s Day to my husband: you have been a great husband and father. (2) Happy Children’s Day to my children: You all have been great children. I have no complaints whatsoever against my husband and, of course, children; you have never been at fault. My bad behavior is all on me, and I’m sorry I put you through this. May God bless your lives, and I love you.
Ephesians 5:22 – 6:20 (KJV)
Below is the passage in the Bible that Daniel Whyte III read in their family devotions every day for decades. It covers the biblical duties of the husband, the wife, and the children, and includes how to fight against the devil who is seeking to destroy the family.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
The Gospel in a Nutshell
If you were to die today, where would you go: Heaven or Hell? If you’re not sure, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
Jesus Christ said the most important words ever spoken in the history of the world when He said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

The Most Important Question in the World: Have You Been Twice Born?
This is the “Chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #447, titled, “The Big Question.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says: that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.
“Have You Been Born Again?”
The question is not, “Have you joined a church?” or “Are you trying to do your best?” or “Do you have religion?” but, “Are you twice-born?” Jesus Christ said in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
We enter the physical world by birth. Spiritual life, likewise, is entered with a birth. We become members of a human family by birth; we become members of the family of God by birth, by being “born again.” There is no other way to get into the human family except by birth, and there is no other way to get into God’s family except by the new birth. Neither education, nor cultivation, nor reformation, nor “turning over a new leaf,” will accomplish this. What is needed is not a new “leaf” but a new “life”! “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).
A New Nature Needed
By physical birth, we become partakers of human nature; by being born again, we become “partakers of the divine nature.” A Christian is the product of a divine “begetting.” The second birth is not an improvement of the old nature; it is the imparting of an entirely new nature. The old nature is hopelessly corrupt and incapable of ever being made fit for His presence. The new birth requires a creative act of the Holy Spirit. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”
Not “Trying” But “Trusting”
“Trying to follow Christ” is not Christianity. Christianity is not imitation of Christ; it is the indwelling of Christ. Christianity is not trying to do anything. It is trusting Christ, who has done it all! He has “finished the work,” and there is nothing left to do but simply to receive and trust Him. He shed His precious blood on the cross, and the work is all done once and forever! Cease trying and begin trusting! Believers will progressively become more and more like Christ, but by His power, not their own.
What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Simply “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible says in 1 John 5:1, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.” The Bible states in John 1:12-13, “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
You are born again, you become a Christian by trusting a Person—receiving a Person. The very moment you do this, the Lord Jesus Christ comes in and life begins!
What Is Meant By “Believe”?
To “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” means more than simply believing the historic facts concerning Him. Intellectual belief about Christ is not sufficient. The belief that brings salvation must be “with the heart,” that is, with the whole being. This belief also includes repentance: “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible states in Acts 17:30, “God… now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.”
The faith which saves, then, includes the necessity to repent and to receive Christ as Savior and Lord, to rest upon Him alone for salvation. It means to trust Him so utterly and completely that, if He should fail, there would be no hope at all!
May I Know That I Am Born Again?
This is an important question. We know that we are born again by the testimony of God’s Word. God says in John 5:24, “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Have you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as explained by God’s Word? If so, then you are saved, you are “born again,” you have “passed from death unto life.” God says so! Take God at His Word, and go on your way rejoicing!
One Final Word
You may “belong to a church,” you may be “trying to do the best you can,” you may be “striving to live right.” Your outward life may be the model of moral correctness, and you may be looked up to, honored, revered, and respected. Yet, if you have not been “born again,” you are just as lost as if you had never heard of Christ. Yes, you may teach in the Sunday school, read the Bible, sing, shout, “feel happy,” and all the rest—but if you have never been “born again,” you are still in your sins and a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you want to be saved from the wrath to come and from an eternity in Hell, and if you believe that Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead, and you are willing to trust Jesus Christ with all of your heart so you can go to Heaven, please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer:
Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
