DALLAS, TX (May 12, 2026) – In the wake of Daystar Television Network co-founder Joni Lamb’s sudden death at age 65, longtime Christian broadcaster and President of Gospel Light Society International, Daniel Whyte III, is publicly reiterating his warnings that Ms. Lamb’s 2023 marriage to Dr. Doug Weiss violated biblical law and would lead to disastrous consequences.
Ms. Lamb, who built Daystar into a global ministry with her late husband Marcus Lamb, died Thursday, May 7, following a decline in health compounded by a recent back injury. Her unexpected passing comes after a tumultuous period for the network, including multiple controversies and a very public, painful rift with her eldest son, Jonathan Lamb, and his wife, Suzy.
A Fulfilled Prophetic Warning
More than three years before Ms. Lamb’s death and 3 months before her marriage to Doug Weiss, Whyte published a series of three articles imploring her not to marry Doug Weiss, whom he called “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” Citing the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:32 “But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery” and Matthew 19:9 “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery,” Whyte argued that because Weiss had reportedly divorced his wife of 30 years in 2022 without biblical grounds (such as infidelity), any subsequent marriage would constitute adultery.
In his articles, dated March 14, March 16, and March 22, 2023, Whyte prophetically warned that the marriage would be a “disaster” and that Weiss was seeking to replace Marcus Lamb as the head of Daystar, a move Whyte strongly advised against. In the wake of Ms. Lamb’s death, Whyte now believes her passing may have come “early” as a direct consequence of ignoring these biblical precepts.
“He is a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”
The controversy over the marriage was not isolated to Whyte’s commentary. In the months before and after Ms. Lamb’s June 10, 2023, wedding to Weiss, numerous other voices raised concerns. A longtime friend of Ms. Lamb, Denise Boggs, wrote an impassioned letter to the family, warning that Lamb was “under a spirit of deception” due to Weiss’ influence and echoing Whyte’s language that Weiss “is a wolf in sheep’s clothing” incapable of holding such a high platform.
Most significantly, Ms. Lamb’s own children reportedly harbored deep spiritual checks about the union. According to reporting from The Roys Report, none of Ms. Lamb’s children or their spouses agreed with the marriage, believing that Weiss lacked biblical grounds for his divorce. The tension came to a head when Jonathan and his wife, Suzy, refused to read an on-air comment congratulating Ms. Lamb and Weiss on their wedding, a refusal they felt was necessary to avoid giving tacit approval to an adulterous union. As noted in a recent report on Ms. Lamb’s final days, Jonathan Lamb himself was not called to his dying mother’s bedside, highlighting the immense and tragic division within the family.
A Family Divided, A Nation Watching
The family feud escalated into public scandal when Jonathan and Suzy Lamb accused Ms. Lamb of covering up the sexual abuse of their young daughter by a family member—allegations Joni Lamb vehemently denied. After a lengthy investigation, Texas police closed the case in 2025 without filing any charges, citing insufficient evidence. Nonetheless, the allegations, combined with the marriage controversy, prompted several high-profile Christian broadcasters to pull their programming from Daystar.
In his statements following Ms. Lamb’s death, Whyte has used her tumultuous final years and sudden passing as a stark warning to the Christian community. He contends that one cannot violate God’s laws and ignore prophetic warnings without facing the consequences. “You cannot violate God’s Word and think you can get away with it,” Whyte is quoted as saying.
As Daystar now moves forward under an unspecified executive leadership team, the network released a statement, saying, “We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.” The network acknowledges that it has been a tumultuous three years and that its future direction is under a cloud of uncertainty.

DANIEL WHYTE III SAYS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE DAYSTAR TRAGEDY IS THE FACT THAT JONI LAMB IS LIVING IN ADULTERY WITH A “WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING” — DOUG WEISS, WHICH WHYTE WARNED JONI LAMB ABOUT IN 3 ARTICLES 3 MONTHS BEFORE SHE GOT MARRIED WITHOUT ANY KNOWLEDGE WHATSOEVER OF WHAT JULIE ROYS HAS UNCOVERED IN HER ARTICLE ABOVE. THE ARTICLES THAT DANIEL WHYTE III WROTE ARE DATED MARCH 14TH, 2023, MARCH 16TH, 2023, AND MARCH 22ND, 2023. ALL 3 ARTICLES ARE BELOW IN REVERSE ORDER. (WHYTE EVEN MENTIONED IN HIS 2ND UPDATED ARTICLE THAT JONATHAN LAMB WOULD HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS MAN LIVING IN HIS FATHER’S HOUSE. IT IS UNDERLINED IN WHYTE’S ARTICLE BELOW.) THIS IS SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE IN THE JULIE ROYS ARTICLE ABOVE, SOME TRUTH CAME OUT THAT DANIEL WHYTE III WAS NOT AWARE OF AND THAT IS, JONI LAMB’S SON, JONATHAN, AND HER DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, SUZY, ALONG WITH ALL OF JONATHAN’S SIBLINGS AND THEIR SPOUSES, HAD A CHECK IN THEIR SPIRIT ABOUT THIS MARRIAGE BETWEEN JONI LAMB AND DOUG WEISS SO DEEP THEY REFUSED TO READ A COMMENT FROM SOMEONE CONGRATULATING JONI LAMB AND DOUG WEISS ON THEIR WEDDING, WHICH GREATLY HURT JONI. HERE IS THE STATEMENT FROM THE JULIE ROYS ARTICLE THAT CORROBORATES AND BACKS UP THE PREDICTIONS AND WARNINGS OF DANIEL WHYTE III TO JONI LAMB:
On June 10, 2023, Joni married Doug Weiss, a sex therapist and repeat guest on Daystar TV, who’s no relation to JW Weiss. Doug Weiss had filed for divorce from his wife of 30 years on January 27, 2022, just two months after Marcus died.
And according to Jonathan and Suzy, the meeting with Evans in July 2023 was an attempt to bully the couple into publicly supporting Joni’s second marriage.
A family divided
According to Jonathan and Suzy, none of Joni’s kids or their spouses agreed with Joni’s marriage to Weiss. They all believed Weiss lacked biblical grounds for divorcing his wife, and that by marrying him, Joni was committing adultery.
Just two months before the wedding, a longtime friend of Daystar, Denise Boggs of Living Waters Ministry, wrote an impassioned letter to Joni’s family, urging them to intervene. Boggs not only knew Joni well but had also counseled Doug Weiss and Lisa Weiss just prior to their divorce.
Boggs wrote that she had voiced concerns about Weiss to Joni “but she refused to hear me.” Now, Boggs said Joni was “under a spirit of deception” due to Weiss’ influence.
“He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” Boggs wrote. “(H)e is of no caliber for such a high platform.”
She added, “Joni didn’t endorse divorce until she came under his deception. Using the Daystar platform, the enemy has successfully mocked the marriage covenant using one of the strongest Christian TV (n)etwork’s (sic) in the nation.”
Jonathan told TRR that he gathered his family to confront Joni two days after receiving the letter. But Joni allowed “each person no more than 60 seconds to share their heart . . . says all she sees from us is fear and rushes out the door to go fly off to New York with Doug,” Jonathan said.
After Joni and Doug Weiss were married, Jonathan and Suzy remained uneasy about the marriage. But on July 5, 2023, they were asked to read a viewer comment on air, praising Joni’s recent marriage to Weiss. The couple refused to do so because they felt it would give tacit approval to the marriage. Their refusal apparently deeply offended Joni.
This prompted the meeting with Evans, in which Evans and Joni equated Joni’s wishes with God’s, and Jonathan and Suzy’s opposition with Satan.
IN THE ABOVE ARTICLE, JONATHAN AND HIS WIFE SUZY REFUSED TO READ A CONGRATULATIONS COMMENT ABOUT JONI LAMB AND DOUG WEISS’ WEDDING BECAUSE THEY KNEW HE DID NOT HAVE BIBLICAL GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE FROM HIS WIFE. FOR SOME STRANGE REASON, GOD LED DANIEL WHYTE III TO WRITE 3 ARTICLES REGARDING THIS CONVOLUTED SITUATION, AT THE TIME, THE ENGAGEMENT AND POSSIBLE MARRIAGE OF JONI LAMB AND DOUG WEISS, WHO DIVORCED HIS WIFE OF 30 YEARS AND LATER MARRIED JONI LAMB. BELOW ARE THE ARTICLES IN REVERSE ORDER:
(UPDATE 2, WRITTEN MARCH 22, 2023 — 3RD ARTICLE)
UPDATE #2: IT IS WIDELY REPORTED THAT MARCUS LAMB’S WIDOW, JONI LAMB, IS DATING AND ENGAGED TO FAMILY COUNSELOR AND THERAPIST DOUGLAS WEISS, WHO IS MARRIED TO LISA WEISS. NOW, AFTER 30 YEARS OF MARRIAGE, IT IS REPORTED THAT THEY ARE DIVORCED. Joni Lamb has two biblical grounds to remarry: (1) before Marcus Lamb died, he was known as an adulterer, and (2) now that he is dead, she has biblical grounds to marry again. Doug Weiss, a popular family counselor and therapist, knows he has no biblical grounds to marry Joni Lamb or any other woman. He needs to try to work it out with his wife, Lisa, or remain unmarried. If Weiss marries Joni Lamb, it will be a disaster.
Whyte says, Doug, you are well aware of what Jesus Christ said, and here it is: “He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.” Doug, based upon this passage, as you well know, seeing that you are a well-known family counselor and therapist, you are going to cause Joni Lamb to live in adultery, and if you truly love her, you will not put her in that position. And please do not try to tell us that your wife, Lisa, committed adultery because no one will believe that unless she tells us herself verbally or in writing. We’re talking about physical, gross, repeated adultery. Anything less than that, you, too, can forgive and go on in the marriage as you have counseled some of your clients.
Daniel Whyte III, President of Gospel Light Society International, warns Joni Lamb that this man is not sincere, and since this is not going to last long, get a prenup in your favor, keep your money one hundred percent separate from his, let him know up-front that he is not replacing Marcus Lamb as head of DayStar, tell him “you got this” and make sure he understands that he is still just a guest, and ask him to keep and maintain his own house just in case. Joni, tell him that he must pay the mortgage and all the bills for the marriage house he will build for you with his money. You keep your house, but do not let him move into the house that you had with Marcus. You keep that as a memento, and for when you need to escape to a quiet place and to meet with your children and grandchildren, FOR YOUR SON MAY NOT WANT TO MEET YOU AT THE NEW HOUSE WHERE YOU ARE WITH ANOTHER MAN BESIDES HIS FATHER. By the way, he should pay all the bills for the newly built house you will share.
Whyte says to Weiss in closing, as he well knows, we are living in an age when so-called Christians, particularly Charismatic-evangelicals, see what they want, divorce their spouses of many years, and go get what they want, no matter what God says. Then, of course, they suffer the consequences, and then, their latter end is worse than their beginning. Doug Weiss, you, of all people, have seen this many times. Don’t mess up Joni Lamb’s life with sinful foolishness that you know will not work. Go back to your wife and be content for the glory of God. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:1-2, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. FOR MEN SHALL BE LOVERS OF THEIR OWN SELVES. . .”

Are Doug Weiss and Joni Lamb Engaged?
A recent Instagram post by Joni Lamb hinted that she was engaged to Dr. Douglas Weiss. The host is well-known for her role as executive producer at Daystar Television Network and as host of the Christian discussion shows c.
Outside of her professional job in the media, however, she has garnered considerable interest after teasing several significant life developments on social media. Doug Weiss, Joni’s partner and his professional and social media credentials are introduced.
Both Joni and Doug deserve our sincere congratulations. The host hinted in an Instagram post published on Friday (March 10, 2023) that she and her boyfriend were getting engaged. The official announcement will be made on her show later.
The Christian host and producer proudly showed Doug a photo of her sparkling engagement ring. Joni said in the post’s caption: “Be sure to watch Table Talk tonight at 8:30 pm ET as I share a special announcement under the leadership of @PsJimmyEvans”.

At this writing, we at BCNN1.COM are not sure if the Weiss family related to the Lambs through marriage is related to Doug Weiss. We believe this has caused some confusion.
