I want to address the issue of divorce from God’s standpoint, from Jesus’ standpoint, from the Bible’s standpoint, which is the Word of God. And Kate Evans, thank you for following us here and on TikTok 103 DOT 103. God bless you for being here.
Sometimes, ladies and gentlemen, things happen and come through the news that preach life lessons—negatively and positively. And so right now I have two titles to this. One you will see in print, and one I will preach on at this time. These people are public figures, so do not worry about their feelings. They did it. As public figures, it is public knowledge.
Pat Southall—a beautiful young lady. And I say that on purpose because today people have lost their “woke” minds where you can’t acknowledge that a woman is beautiful anymore. But this is a beautiful woman. Martin Lawrence—one of the greatest comedians and situation comedy champions in American history. I count Martin right up there with Frasier. And I believe they saw each other in one another and tried to work together. But sometimes things don’t work just because you can see something that you think will work, but it doesn’t. For both of these guys—comedic geniuses—the guy who played Frasier and Martin.
Emmitt Smith—arguably the greatest running back in the history of the NFL. He’s my favorite running back. And Tom Brady—arguably the greatest quarterback of all time. Deion Sanders—I believe the greatest football player, period, of all time; the most talented football player. And I remember the days when I was living in the Atlanta area; those were exciting days when Deion Sanders played football and baseball for two major league teams and did great in both. I remember those days. Very exciting times, by the way.
And Why God and Jesus Christ Hate Divorce
By yours truly, Daniel Whyte III.
Pat Southall, Martin Lawrence, Emmitt Smith, Tom Brady, Deion Sanders, and Why God and Jesus Christ Hate Divorce.
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re talking about some of the greatest human beings and greatest sports figures in history, but divorce—including Pat Southall—has marred their lives. Now these are people who can’t quit, won’t quit. These are people who have made comebacks many times in their lives. These people are winners and are gifted by God in what they do.
Pat Southall is so beautiful and has been gifted by God with pure beauty. She snagged two of the greatest men in their respective fields. Martin Lawrence does not have to work that much now because he did so well in his early life with the gift that God gave him. Emmitt Smith—and I don’t know why, I just think about Emmett Till every time I think about Emmitt Smith, and that’s all right—but we thank God that Emmitt Smith is still alive and with us. Emmitt Smith is not only the greatest running back of all time, in my view; Emmitt Smith is just an all-around good guy. Period. And a good guy.
Tom Brady—another all-around good guy. And it’s oftentimes the good guys that get burned by women in their lives because they love so much. They’re not players. They may try to play a little bit like their football buddies, but they can’t. It’s not in them. Emmitt is not a player. I don’t have to talk with him. I know he’s not a player. I can look at him and tell you he’s not a player. Tom Brady is the furthest that he could possibly be from a player. He’s trying to be a player now, and Gisele, whatever her name is, no doubt is just smirking and laughing at Tom trying to be a player. He’s not a player. These are good guys. Okay?
Deion Sanders has been a player in his day, but he got born again saved. And I’m going to say a few things about that. Probably Deion Sanders is more of the real deal as a Christian than his former pastor, T.D. Jakes. I’ve always felt that. I believe he knows that, and I respect him for not saying things that he may know. Maybe he signed an agreement or whatever. I don’t know.
And it’s so good to see Sister Aurora with us in this second service of the day. And we thank God always, Sister Aurora Lane, for being here with us in the church service at Gospel Lighthouse International.
And so Deion, he was a player, you know. Women were crazy about him, and he was crazy about women. But he did get married a couple of times, a few times, I think. And, of course, he divorced. And I’m going to go ahead and say this now regarding Deion. Deion is a born-again saved Christian. He’s not playing. He doesn’t play with God. Look at me real good, okay? I’m not playing with you by telling you that Deion Sanders does not play with Jesus. He does not play with God. And if he detects that you’re playing with God, he will move away from you and leave you be. Okay?
But allow me to say in this context… Deion Sanders is probably the only coach in history who said a painful, obvious point out loud. And he knows why things have not gone smoothly for his son deep down. He said it in regards to other quarterbacks. He knows why Shedeur Sanders did not go high in the draft, did not win the Heisman. He knows why. Because he said to himself that a quarterback needs to come from a solid home background. His mind has got to be right and tight. Now, coaches psychologically have talked about this behind the scenes. Deion Sanders knows this instinctively, and he knows it from the standpoint of psychology. A quarterback—a good quarterback—has got to come from a solid home in most cases.
And Deion Sanders is probably one of the greatest fathers when you look back at what he did to guide his children along; he’s been one of the best. But he realizes that the home situation was not what it should be. And he believes, I believe, and other people believe that Shedeur has suffered from that.
Deion Sanders says some things that looking back were not wise to say—talking about what team he doesn’t want his son to play for. But he’s a Christian man who is not going to hide his feelings about it because he knows this game and he’s trying to protect his son. And when you combine the bad home situation and some of the videos that Shedeur and his brother have done with Pylon—they are just atrocious, and they need to stop doing that. Bringing up, trying to get the dad and mom together as grown men still doing that. Now, some of it may be tongue-in-cheek, you know, making some money on YouTube or whatever, but you can still sense the hurt and the pain. And quite frankly, unless they’re playing for the money, there’s no love lost between Pilar and Deion Sanders.
And let me just go ahead and add this right now, right off the top. He’s with another beautiful young lady now. He was with another beautiful young lady—Edmonds’ wife—which I believe has caused him to have problems on the gridiron. And I’m just going to go ahead and say this out loud. I don’t think he is doing this because he’s a born-again saved man. Yeah, I believe he learned from that situation with Edmonds’ wife. But if he and this other little young lady are doing the “boom boom,” I predict that this season is going to be doom doom. If you don’t know what “boom boom” is, evidently you have not been to the Philippines. That’s what they call having sex.
Brother Deion—I can truly call him a brother in Christ—and his pastor knows that you can’t do the “boom boom” if you’re not married; otherwise, you’re going to have doom doom, just like he did with Babyface’s wife. And Babyface—”I’ll wash your clothes, I’ll pay your rent” fame. We just messed up so many men and so many women, but I digress.
We thank the Lord for over 4,500 with us at this time, live. And so let me get into it real quick, and then we’ll go home in our second service of the day. This is all about why God and Jesus Christ hate divorce. God and Jesus Christ do not hate divorcees. God and Jesus Christ hate divorce, just like they hate sin because it hurts people.
Now, the young man who went, I think, first in the draft—he came from a solid home: father and mother all the way through. And I do not think he’s any better than Shedeur Sanders. But Deion will not get mad at me for saying this. He understands the value as a quarterback because everything is on the quarterback for the most part, and he’s got to have a solid background. He said that himself.
Alright, Malachi chapter 2, verse 16: “For the Lord, the God of Israel”—and if you don’t know who He is, that’s God Almighty. Okay, that’s your grandmother’s God, your great-grandmother’s God, and that’s your great-grandfather’s God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the Father of Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords. That’s who we’re talking about. Malachi 2:16: “For the Lord, the God of Israel, saith that He hateth putting away”—in other words, God hates divorce. “For one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.”
And then the Son of God, Jesus Christ, edited the great Moses regarding divorce when He said in Matthew chapter 19, verses 3 through 9: “The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?” This has been an issue, ladies and gentlemen, for many years. For every cause or for anything—can you just put away your wife because she farted in the bedroom or she had a bad case of flatulence, to say it nicer? Okay?
And He answered and said unto them, “Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female?” Everybody all right? James Hargrove—I think we go way back. I believe I preached in your church up in Allentown. I don’t know. Let me know. Allentown, Pennsylvania.
“Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife?” Beckham needs to understand that, but more so Beckham’s wife, because the two women are the problem in that case—why there’s no communication, no connection, and all of that foolishness that is going on. Okay, but I’m with Brooklyn, believe it or not. Brooklyn did the right thing and got married to a beautiful young lady, and she happens to be richer than the Beckhams. I think Brooklyn did all right. I applauded his wedding. And little Miss Mama—his mother—is trying to mess up things, and she does not know why. I mean, she does not know what she’s doing. They need to do what the Beatles song says: “Let It Be, Let It Be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.” Y’all go on your way, okay? All that’s over with. Brooklyn is not going to let go of that girl for y’all. So y’all can forget all that—trying to get him to come on the boat and all of this. Leave him alone. He’s doing what the Bible says to do.
All of you young men need to do what Brooklyn did, and you need to do what Kelsey did. Go and find your woman and don’t be hanging around mommy and daddy. Okay? And start doing the “boom boom” with a fine young woman. And you don’t need to be around mom and dad when you’re doing that. They did it, and you’re here. You’re grown now. You need to go do the same. Go and do that likewise.
And said, “For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh.” I love it. I love it. I cheer all men marrying women. I do not cheer men with men, women with women—no sir, no ma’am.
“Wherefore they are no more twain,” Mrs. White, “but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder”—that includes mommy and daddy. Leave them alone, and thank God they are gone and on their own and grown. Let them be.
They say unto Him, “Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?” He saith unto them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts”—Caprin from Russia; Freddie 113; Sister Bliss; Neva too much in the background—”suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.” Go ahead, Jesus, go ahead.
“And I say unto you”—this is where Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and therefore God Almighty, edits Moses—”Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”
There’s that phrase again, the same phrase that God used in Malachi. God hates putting away. Jesus is using the same terminology. He didn’t use the word “divorce” here; He used “putting away.” Putting away your wife—that’s what you’re doing. “Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication”—that is adultery. If she lied about her virginity, that’s under the same thing. She committed fornication before she got married, and she went through the process that’s laid out in the Old Testament to show that she’s lying about her virginity. The Bible talks about how she will have rottenness in her thighs—the lies will be exposed. Or committing adultery while married. The word “fornication” includes both.
“And shall marry another”—same thing for a man who commits adultery—”committeth adultery.” They’re living in adultery. One thing to commit an act of adultery is another thing to live in adultery. My God, my God. I’m just saying that like the old preachers and the old saints used to say.
And by the way, I do believe that men who commit adultery on their wives ought to tell their wives and tell the truth. I also believe that a wife who committed fornication or adultery—and a man who committed fornication or adultery—I don’t want you to get it twisted. I believe that if you committed fornication before you got married, you ought to cough that up before you get married, and you ought not to try to hide that and lie about it. Everybody say, “Preacher, you’re preaching real good.” Because, see, if you don’t have trust, you have nothing in the marriage, and it’s not going to work, my beloved. Okay?
“Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”
You know why Emmitt Smith—they’ll never tell you—you know why Emmitt Smith did not remarry? It’s not necessarily because he was so madly in love with Pat. And the same for Pat—it’s not so much she was madly in love with Emmitt; obviously not—she initiated the divorce. But because these people are born again saved and they fear God.
You know why Deion Sanders is not married again? He was almost there, but see, God will hold you back because he fears God and he does not want to sin against God because he has found out down through the years the same thing I have found out down through the years and all born-again Christians find out down through the years: God will get you if you do something contrary to His will.
Deion Sanders—he doesn’t fear God because his mother fears God; he fears God for himself. Now, whereas when he was “Prime Time” in Atlanta, he didn’t fear anybody—just like I didn’t fear anybody. Okay?
Emmitt Smith respects God and fears God and has seen what God will do to even a preacher like Bishop T.D. Jakes. God will take the shine off you if you do evil and commit fornication, and commit homosexuality, and commit jackass-ainity—okay, foolishness. You say, “Preacher, where did you get that word from?” I just made it up. Foolishness, okay? And it doesn’t matter how important you think you are or who you think you are. Brother Mark, God will take you down. And all of these folks have lived long enough to know that. Okay?
So that’s the foundation of this message this afternoon. We’ve already had our main service, and I was not going to come back and preach today. God gave me some unusual energy and laid upon my heart to do this. I was not going to do this. But for some reason, God wants me to deal with this. And I’m all teed up—they teed me up. If you want to blame somebody, you blame the beautiful Pat Smith. It used to be Pat Martin Lawrence—Lawrence, okay?
She wrote an article recently saying after I don’t know how many years of being divorced—they were married for 20 years. Now let me tell you something: if you make it to 20, you might as well just go on. I didn’t even realize they hadn’t been married that long. That’s a real marriage right now, and they should have worked it out. Like I said, Emmitt Smith is not a perfect man, but he’s a good guy. He’s a good man.
You say, “What do you mean, preacher? Is he more good than you?” Yes, he is. So is Tom Brady. They came from a great background—not perfect. Somebody raised them right, and they have a different attitude, a different spirit than what I had when I was younger. And I don’t know Emmitt Smith personally, but what I have picked up: he is a gentleman. Tom—maybe not so much—but more gentle than me and more gentle than most guys.
But she wrote an article recently because this is what happens: women change their minds and they finally admit that they were at fault. And in this rare case—this is rare for any woman or any man—she did something that I don’t think anybody else has ever done: she apologized to both of her exes. That’s in her mind. It’s not in God’s mind. As far as God is concerned, she still married somebody in God’s sight.
She put at the top of the—I don’t know if she wrote this, but I do know she said these things in her podcast—”I want love again.” Or who doesn’t? But it’s going to be hard to get that again because you messed up the first two times, and now you’re taking the blame for it. See?
And in this day and time, you know, people are having their little minds—you can’t say anything negative about a woman. I don’t know where you got that from, and I could care less. God had a whole lot to say about womenfolk, and much of it negative, if not most of it. Okay? Because, see, women do this foolishness. She’s the one who filed for divorce. I told you Emmitt Smith is a good guy. Now, was he perfect in the marriage? No. But when you’re winning three and four and five Super Bowls back to back, you got to bring in multi-million dollars so that you don’t have to work. I think you need to leave that man alone because he’s got a whole lot on. And I give him credit—with all of that divorce talk and divorce foolishness, he carried the Cowboys on to Super Bowls. Anyhow.
Okay. I mean, Emmitt was present going through all of that mess and foolishness. No reason for that. You got everything you want. You got a big fine house on Porkchop Hill. Evidently, you’re getting sex. You got several children. You had already done it with another man. Got all the money you want. And you have a gentleman as a husband. So what is the problem, see? And then you’re doing the typical eventual thing that most women do after they lose a good man in a good thing: after a few months, after a few years, crying from their eyes, and quite frankly, wet elsewhere for that man. I know you don’t like it. I’m going to say it anyhow because I know what I’m talking about.
And then, you know, you want to say, “I want love again,” or “I miss my husband,” or “I should not have divorced him.” And then want to take the blame ten years later, six years later—however long—okay? And admit, “Well, you know, I did wrong myself. I had a nasty attitude. I finally admit it.” But see, the problem is, sweetheart, it’s too late. See, follow that: it’s too late.
See, this is why men need to lead families and households. Now, wait a minute. Before you get it twisted, I’m a firm believer that a woman ought to do what she wants to do. I’m a firm believer in that. However, once you get married, you’re limited in all of that, okay? You need to submit to your husband. See, if you had submitted to Emmitt Smith—no doubt he was guiding you—”We really don’t need to do all that. We live in a 30-room mansion. Maybe we can live in this house together. Come together for the ‘boom boom’ once or twice a week to keep our commitments to God and Jesus Christ. And I don’t have to see you, and you don’t have to see me for the rest of those days. And we don’t have to take this out into the street. This is your second time doing it—it’s going to make you look bad. It’s not going to make me look bad. I got women running after me now because I’m a good guy. And because I’m a Christian and a good guy, I don’t follow up on it. Okay?”
If you had listened to him and submitted to him—I don’t have to be there to know this—you’re not hearing me. This could have worked out better for the children most of all. What? What? What? Where are you going? What are you talking about? You can’t tell me that Deacon Emmitt Smith was abusive. It’s not even in him. He might abuse some of those football players by running over them, but he never abused you. I double dog dare you to tell that lie. You probably, no doubt, tried to provoke him. Okay? But he’s not that kind of guy. But it is too late, Sister Gail.
Emmitt Smith’s ex-wife—which really, in truth, was not his wife; she was Martin’s wife—now offers a belated mea culpa. It’s too late, baby. God still loves you, but it’s too late. And I hope that Deacon Emmitt Smith will make sure and keep his eyes open. She offers a belated mea culpa, yet the bitter fruits of a godless divorce still remain.
Blue Eyes, good to see you. Mark, good to see you. Okay, we ain’t mad at nobody. But I’m encouraging Deacon Emmitt Smith to not get taken by this apology “to my exes.” And see, I see this stuff all the time. I’ve seen it down through the years. Men get duped by these beautiful, fine women. And I understand it. But you can’t do that. You’ve got to listen to God. You’ve got to listen to God, and you’ve got to listen to what you know to be true. Listen to your own voice.
Most men have been trained to listen to the female’s voice. And that’s what’s wrong with America, and that’s what’s wrong with the world. Men still falling into the trap of Eve and Jezebel. And some women are mad at me because I bring it up. I’m trying to protect these men to go on with their lives and not be caught up in that trap—great men, talented men, rich men.
And I’m getting ready to mention Tom. I say, “Why you put Tom up there? What’s Tom Brady got to do with it?” Did you see the picture—the forlorn picture of Tom Brady, the sad picture? Tom Brady who went to Taylor Swift and Kelsey’s wedding in the car. You saw it in the newspaper. I don’t want any, I don’t want another man to be looking like that.
His beautiful former wife out there doing the “boom boom” with some jiu-jitsu player, worker or whatever, trainer. Y’all don’t hear me. He trying to be a player, dating all these different women. Ain’t nothing happening with that. These women don’t even want Tom Brady because he looks weak—some jiu-jitsu trainer.
See, first of all, Tom Brady, you don’t know how to handle a woman. Number one, you do not let no wife of yours learn any kind of martial arts with some other man who is grabbing her and throwing her upside down. Some women, they like that. They like that roughness. You’re probably soft and gentle with her. You won’t slam her down and go ahead and do what you got to do. And so that whatever martial arts specialist, he was walking your wife down while you was out there throwing touchdowns. You can’t let that happen.
None of you men, just stop trying to be all, you know, what is it? Trying to be, you know, magnanimous or letting her do whatever she wants to do and trying to be that kind of a guy—or you’re just that kind of a guy. No, first of all, she needs to be with you and your children that you all have together. Number two, you cannot let a big dog stay in your house so that you can take care of him while you throw football touchdowns. You let a big dog in your house who knows how to get to women and knows how women get to him. You can’t do that, Tom.
You have to protect your wife from such dogs. Because it’s not just the dog that is the problem. Listen to me, men. And listen to me well, okay? See, my mentality is: if a man tries to shoot his shot at my wife—which I never give her a situation for that to happen—however, men are going to find women attractive, period, whoever they are. And in this day and time, most men don’t care if that’s your wife or anything. Okay. So my mentality is the wife needs to be the gatekeeper. Okay. So I’m not worried about the man. If something ever happened, it’s going to be—she’s going to be mostly responsible, not the man. So therefore you can’t put a dog man in your house and let him stay there with your wife. Because it’s not always just the man going after your woman. It’s the woman going after that man and sending those demonic signals. Okay? And you need to deal with it that way.
You can keep the man on your football team, but he has enough money to take care of his own. All y’all got enough money to pay for a thousand-dollar hotel room until you get your house squared away. In two instances, you did not protect your wife, sir. And now you’re sitting forlorn in a car, and don’t tell me you’re happy because you’re not happy. And I don’t want to see another great man get taken down. And in Gisele’s case, she didn’t even try to do it. She didn’t try to take you down or embarrass you. That’s not even how she operates. She would have stayed with you, Tom, if you had just put your foot down and said, “No, you can’t go spend two hours with the jiu-jitsu man who’s grabbing you by the door, between your legs, and flipping you, and y’all are getting sweaty together.” Oh, no. No. No, sir.
I don’t give a flip what she has to say about it. She can’t do that. But you trying to be, you know, the kind of guy who’s acting like he’s not jealous, which is dumb. God is jealous. God is jealous for us—all of His creation, all of His children. And there’s nothing wrong with you being jealous. And to be quite frank, I don’t believe it was anything intentional. He does not even look like the kind of guy—dog guy—who is just going to go after somebody’s wife and not even care. And bless your heart, she’s really not that kind. But when you open the door for the devil, the devil is going to come in and step in. And you open the door for the dog, and then zip, bam, boom, one thing leads to another, Tom, and there you have it. Your wife is underneath another man. They were just wrestling one day and maybe two weeks and three weeks. And your house guest was just going to get a sandwich, and then it was done. It was over with. And it’s not just the man—you need to check your wife. That’s right.
All of you men, I’m telling you, stop trying. “He’s just a friend, and we work out at the gym together.” Let me talk to you down the street for a minute. The hell you do, woman. What? You said, “Preacher, that’s not nice.” I don’t care if it’s nice. I’m telling you. Uh-uh. “Oh, that’s my friend. That’s just my friend, Jamal. That’s just my friend, Jay.” Jay, I’m talking to you. Okay. Jay is a family member. I’m trying to keep out of the church because he’s a devil. Okay, I just couldn’t think of another name. All right, forget that. Man, to hell with that. Y’all not going to work out where? No, you work out with me. I’m the greatest quarterback in history. You’re going to work out with me, baby. Let’s work out together. We got a gym at the house. We don’t need to go to a gym. And you don’t let any man—any big dog, a little dog—stay in your house. A grown man stay in your house. If you can afford it, you put him in a hotel and keep him away from your wife and keep him away from your grown daughters and your young daughters in this day and time. I don’t know what you’re talking about.
So I don’t want to see another—they finally hit him, I believe, at that wedding that he messed up. Okay? So that’s Tom. I still think you’re one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Starrback is still my favorite. Clutch—Mr. Clutch. And you were clutch too, Tom. You were not clutch in that marriage, man. You messed up. You have a white lady who I think is, as far as being a comedian, she’s right up there with Martin—in a real sense. I forget her name. She’s beautiful, too. She just took you to the mat, man. In that little roast. I forget her name. She’s a good-looking woman, and she’s smart. A white woman. She’s a comedian. And I would venture to say she’s if not right up there with Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence—she might be even better. I mean, she is smarter than we are.
Buddy, I saw a portion of that, Tom. There were things said on that roast regarding you. They were not nice. They were not friendly. She wore you out. And that ought not to be for the greatest quarterback possibly in NFL history. Deacon Lowell, Ayuka, and all of Mrs. Marica White’s family members who are here plotting and planning against me—Blackheart.
And so let’s move on to what I really want to say to you, everybody. Pat Smith makes a belated mea culpa, yet the bitter fruits of a godless divorce remain. And I’m saying to you that God Almighty and Jesus Christ—they both use the same words in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. They hate putting away. In other words, they hate divorce.
And you say, “Well, why, preacher? Why do they hate divorce? I want to be happy. I don’t want to be tied to this woman or this man. I want to be happy.” Here’s my question to you, Mr. Happy and Mrs. Happy: Are the children happy? Did you have children? Well then, for that reason alone, you stay your behind put, and you both grow up and stop acting like juveniles. Because what’s going to break your heart the most is when your child gets married and they divorce—it’s going to break your heart because your heart is still broken. Somebody needs to tell you people something: you can’t do whatever you want to do in this thing called life because God is watching and God is in control. Okay?
I could have done the same thing. And the reason why I preach it like this is because I could have done the same stupid thing you did and got a divorce a long time ago. And you know what? My wife and I will both be just as miserable as you are. Here you are—you got a 30-bedroom house and got four, five, six houses. What is the problem? Food in the refrigerator everywhere.
I have a white friend and his rich millionaire family, okay? And I thank God for them. They’ve helped me in the ministry. They have houses all over the place. They have houses in the boondocks. And God worked a miracle where we were able to visit the house in the boondocks. Let me tell you something: they probably go there once every two years. I mean, it’s off the beaten path. You’ve got to know where this house is. You hear me? Otherwise, you will never make it. Never. Never. And we went there, and buddy, they had food galore in a house they hardly visit—maybe twice, once every two years, three years, or maybe one or whatever. Stocked, stocked to the hilt. Okay? That’s how the rich people lived. They didn’t have to go shopping. When we got there, the food was already there, the coffee was there, everything was there. Deacon Karamba.
And Martin Lawrence got it like that. Emmitt Smith has it like that. Tom Brady has it like that. Deion Sanders has it like that. Deion Sanders is the one who said, “I have 8,000 pairs of shoes and no place to go. I have 30-something cars and nowhere to drive them to. I got a big fine mansion on Porkchop Hill and nobody to visit me.” Okay. They have it all. And yet you can’t stay together in a big fine house on Porkchop Hill. Go over there. Go to the furthest room and close the door. We have internet. We have cable, whatever. We have satellite. We got it all. You just sit your behind down over there and be by yourself a while. And then when you get horny, then we can meet together midway in the house. So what is the problem? And we can eat together sometimes if you want to. You can eat what you want to eat, and I can eat what I want to eat. We have the money. We got people who will cook the food for us at the house. And we can always do DoorDash. You bring in what you want to bring in. I bring in what I want to bring in. What is the problem? Why can’t we be happy? Why can’t we be friends? Lord have mercy.
Marine Corps veteran, Semper Fi, my brother. God bless you. We’re glad to have you. Okay.
Former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith is rightly celebrated as an NFL legend and a good guy. He’s one of those good guys. I had a fellow classmate in high school. He was not a doggish man like I was. He was a good guy. He was known to be a good guy. His name is Craig Trice. We used to call him Daddy Black. You say, “Preacher, why did y’all call him Daddy Black?” Because he was so black. He was the daddy of all black people. But a good guy, man, and a great athlete, okay? That’s how I see Emmitt Smith. He was not really a ladies’ man, but, you know, because he was a good guy, he was a good man to marry—unlike me at the time, okay? That’s how I see Emmitt Smith—a good guy, steady.
However, his legacy was marred in 2020, Mrs. White, not by a loss on the gridiron, but by a spiritual and familial tragedy out of nowhere. Sister Pat—she’s a Christian. Sister Pat Smith, who used to be Mrs. Pat Lawrence. And when they first got married, Deacon Karamba, I wrote an article. It’s still on BCNN1. It may be on BCNN1 too. We have multiple BCNN1s to keep the ball going for years to come. And I said then what I tell men now: if you already great yourself, please do not marry a woman who has been married, first of all, period. And I said also: if you’re going to marry, do not marry a woman, and if you’re going to marry a divorced woman, do not marry a woman who has been under a big dog guy. Now, when I say “big dog,” I’m not talking about sexual prowess or anything like that. I’m talking about a big dog who has a big personality, a big gift, big talent, therefore is well known, just as well known as you. Because see, I believe some men have a sick mentality that they think they’re getting something valuable because she has been with so-and-so. And where they get that from, I do not know. It’s quite nasty, to be quite honest with you. And no man ought to think of himself so small that he has to come after another big dog. You leave the big dogs—big dog women—on the shelf, man. You don’t go for them. You don’t go for somebody else’s wife—another man who is a big dog. And quite frankly, some are nasty big dogs.
See, see, see, you need to understand big dogs: they’re going to do everything they can do with that woman. Don’t bow your head yet. It’s not time to pray. They’re going to do everything for multiple reasons. First of all, they’re going to let him do it. See, a big dog has big money. A big dog has a big house. A big dog has a big career. A big dog has a big car, and she’s going to give in to whatever he wants. Whatever he wants to do, whatever freaky things he wants to do, he’s going to do that. You don’t want no woman who’s been run through by a big dog. I know I’m preaching real good, but I’m making some folks mad.
Because Emmitt Smith was just getting saved—a young Christian—and because he is a good guy, he wouldn’t know that. That’s why I told him. I wish he had never married her. I wish he had married a nice virgin young lady from his hometown or from the church he was going to who had not been involved with another big dog. I say that not only to Emmitt Smith, but to white people, white men, black men, red men, young—don’t marry anybody who already been with a great somebody. Why do you want to follow a big dog who’s already done everything with this woman? You can’t even surprise her with anything because the other big dog has already surprised her with it. Now, she may lie and say he didn’t take her to the zoo yet, but they’ve already done everything together, man.
And one of the reasons why you don’t need to be marrying another man’s wife, especially a big dog’s wife, is because that is going to be a doggone problem later on in the marriage, and we’ll probably feed the unnecessary divorce—second divorce—20 years later, like in this case. Okay, because the big dog wife will—listen to me, I’m trying to help all—I’m not just trying; it’s too late for Emmitt Smith.
Deacon Deion has already accepted that he was not ready for marriage, and he’s already accepted what he did wrong. Shaq has already accepted what he did wrong and all of that. Pilar has not admitted to doing wrong, but she did wrong. We all know it. And in some ways, we can’t even blame Deion on that one—maybe not the first one, but Pilar was a firecracker. Okay. Okay. So they have owned up to what they have done wrong—these men. And that’s good. So it’s too late now for them on that. They’ve learned the hard way.
And I’m here to say to these men who now are hearing from people like Sister Pat Smith—Pat Lawrence Smith—see, that’s the thing about marrying somebody else’s wife. You really can’t—how should I say this? You really can’t take, if you will, allow me to say it—ownership as your wife because this is somebody else’s wife. And God knows it, and Jesus knows it, and they don’t like it. It’s just a mess. That’s my point in mentioning God hating divorce and Jesus Christ hating divorce—the Son of God—because it turns out to be a mess like this.
And here we have six years later with muddy water, muddy water under the bridge. And we don’t know what you have done, mommy. And we really don’t know what daddy has done. It’s just a mess. And we don’t know what the first husband has done. Total mess. And the children—we don’t know what’s going on with them in this mess. And then all of a sudden, mommy wants to come out with a podcast talking about she apologized. I’ve never seen anything like this. That’s why I am sharing this with you. I’ve never seen a woman be so bold and so bad and so brash to say, “You know, I want to apologize to both of my exes.” Lord have mercy.
And I would tell both of these men: run away from that. Run. Don’t walk. Run. Don’t even get involved with that. Don’t respond to it. Don’t even call up. “I heard that you’re looking for love. I’m here.” No, don’t do that. Please. She’s not serious about that. We don’t know what she’s talking about. She’s “ready for love.” Okay. See, because your pastors and many other pastors have not taught the Bible as they should. Have taught men to be weak and to accept anything a woman can do. “Just don’t say anything to her, brother. You just say, yes, ma’am, and let her have her way. Give her the credit card and let her have her way if you want to get some ‘boom boom’ tonight. It’s okay.” No, man, you got to be kidding. Big dogs don’t operate like that. Bo Peep. I’m intentionally not giving you a dime, and you’re still going to give me the “boom boom.” It can’t be based upon that, honey child. Not with me. You can do that with these nice guys, but not me, because I don’t see you that way. Okay? It’s not going to be like that at all. Period. Period.
Not by a loss on the gridiron—talking now back, talking again about Emmitt Smith—but by a spiritual and family tragedy, the dissolution of his marriage to Patricia Southall. What should have been a lifelong covenant joined by God was torn asunder, leaving a painful aftermath that continues to affect the hearts of their children. Oh, yes, it does. I know what you heard, Pat and Emmitt. Let me see if I can get it out. I know what you heard. This is what all people who are going through a divorce hear from the lying councils: “You know, children are very resilient.” No, they’re not. In fact, they suffer for the rest of their lives. And not really because they blame themselves. They know better than that. It’s y’all’s dumb fault. It’s y’all’s foolishness. They know that. And the older they get, they’re going to know that. And the older they get, they’re going to blame you—whoever they believe is the person who caused it. And they’ll never be right.
And divorce is a bitter pill, my friends. You’ve heard people say that divorce is like a death. It keeps on killing you. But the person keeps on popping up. And they do little things to provoke you. And so it’s death all over again. You have four children. You may have four children—one is playing soccer, one is playing football. You come from an athletic background. You got the generational ability. One plays golf, and one plays soccer or whatever, basketball. Well, if you’re a good father—and these guys are good fathers—they’re going to want to be there. And then if you’re a good mother, you’re going to want to be there. And so you’re both going to see each other again, even though you’re divorced. It’s like a death all over again, especially one of you brings a friend, Deacon Alexander. And so especially the former husband is going to be preoccupied with this man standing by your wife and standing over your daughter, standing over your son, and God forbid if they’re holding hands—that is with the child—God forbid. It’s just a death all over again. Then there’s high school graduation, junior high school graduation, elementary school. You go for that. You go to that. If you’re a good parent, you’re going to want to go to that. And then after that, you got college and trying to get your child off to college. And you want to try to be there for that, don’t you? It’s a death all over again, over and over—a painful death. And it’s a painful death for your children as well, over and over again. And it’s foolishness in God’s sight and in Jesus’ sight. They hate it because, and for them, they hate how you hurt the children.
So here’s how God looks at this: Now, I blessed you to have sex together. You enjoyed the pleasure of sex. And then out pops these children that I blessed you with. Oh, now, because you’re going to be selfish and act like juveniles, you want to get a divorce? As I have blessed you with a family and blessed you with these beautiful children. And I’ve told you all in the past—God does not mind. You want to mess over these children? God does not mind taking a child home. I’m not talking about an adult child. I’m talking about a little child. Because evidently in God’s sight, you don’t want them. I’m not going to sit here and let you break their hearts every time y’all go through this junk, this foolishness of back and forth. “I got the children this week and he has the children next week so I can whore around this week and he can whoremonger around next week because I have the children”—and got this mess going on and messing over the children. And every time the children have to leave the father’s house, it’s crying and boo-hooing—”I don’t want to go back to my mean mother”—and all this garbage. And then they become teenagers and they didn’t want to stay with the mother because the mother let them do whatever in the world they want to do, whereas you the father—that’s just a mess. And God hates mess. God does not like ugly. I believe that God—when that phrase came out, I believe people were talking about ugly in marriage and in the family. Lord have mercy.
And this is one of these messages that I have to finish. I can’t make a part one and a part two out of this. I don’t want to. I don’t want to revisit this again. Giovanna, Gladys, may God bless you. Daniela, Daniel, Danita, Danae, Daniqua, Daniel, Ezekiel, Daniel, Elizabeth, Duran Daniel, Daniel Tequila, Quazia, everybody.
And so recently, Patricia Southall—a gorgeous woman—appeared on her podcast, “The Pursue You Podcast.” All wrong, all wrong—later for that. I just get so tickled at these little podcasts and little books that women come out with. Again, I say strongly: I believe that a woman ought to do whatever she wants to do. But if she’s married, she needs to do what God told her to do in regards to her husband. But they come out, see, with this foolishness nowadays. And it’s all about “pursue you.” It’s all about you and not your children. And then they tell this lie that they just gave themselves to their husbands and they gave themselves to their children—they lost themselves. What in the hell are you talking about? Huh? What are you talking about? That’s what you’re supposed to do. And I mean that literally when I say “what in the hell.” I’m not cussing. I mean that. What in the hell are you talking about, woman? You lost yourself and your husband. In your case, like Jesus would say to you, you lost yourself and two husbands. Whose fault is that? That’s your fault. You knew better than that. You don’t want to be seen as a gold digger because you’re not working with no broke niggers here. Okay? What are you talking about? You lost yourself in your husband. You lost yourself in your children. You don’t even hear you are what? 50-something years old? And you don’t know yourself? Have you lost your righteous mind? And I’m not on Patricia. I’m on a host of women who talk this foolishness when they done messed up their lives and messed up the lives of their children—trying to be somebody that they’re not. They lost themselves to themselves. They didn’t lose themselves to their husbands. They didn’t lose themselves to their children. These men married you and gave you your life. Gave you those babies. And you’re talking out of your mind, talking about you lost yourself and “pursue you.” But what in the world? That’s not Christian doctrine. “Pursue you”—is that in the Bible? Tell me what verse that is. You need to pursue you. It’s all about you now.
You made millions off of your first husband, millions off of your second husband. They gave you children. You barely—no doubt was barely there for them like your husband wanted you to be—out trying to pursue you. You were doing that when you were married every day. That’s why you got to do divorce. See, not content with what God blessed you with. And now you feel lonely and now you want love again. And Patricia Southall is not the only one—I’m dealing with this because there are many, many women with these strange podcasts out here and little books.
Again, let me say it again to help you to understand. Because, see, as a man and a married man—I’ve been married for going on 40 years now—I told my wife before she got married, “Now if you want to pursue a career and you want to do all of that, you better go ahead and do that.” I do believe that God wants women to do what they want to do. I believe that too. Because I’m not the kind of man who wants you to be around me and you not doing what you believe God wants you to do. See, I want you to be free. But once you get married, I’m in charge. And so you’re going to have to be a helpmeet to me. Now, evidently, that’s what you chose to do. And so that’s what we’re going to do here. And you’re going to follow me. I don’t need for you to have some kind of second career where you neglect your children and neglect me. And I come home from running 2,000 yards on the gridiron and winning the Super Bowl and I’m exhausted. Or I just got through preaching seven days in a row and I can’t even get a BLT. Huh? And some loving care. You say, “Well, preacher, what is loving care?” I want you to massage my legs. I want you to massage my back. Sometimes I just want you to sit there at my feet and touch me every now and then. Then once I get some sleep, I’m ready for some “boom boom.” Okay? And whenever I’m ready, I want you to be ready. Okay?
And I think it’s foolishness for women to do this to men who gave them a great life. And then get a divorce and mess up everything and then wanted to come back and talk about “I’m looking for love. I want love again.” You had love. You had a whole lot of love. And sex. And money. And purpose. And everything. And children. What is the problem?
She expressed a desire for love again and offered a sweeping apology—a miracle—to her exes. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. Y’all are getting crazy to me. Finally taking responsibility, Brother Mark, for her role in the marriage’s failure—which most women don’t do. So, Pat, I give you credit. I give you credit because you have enough sense to come to your senses and stop lying on Emmitt Smith and lying on everybody. You’re the one being married to two men and got a divorce from both of them. So there’s some problems with you, sweetheart.
And I want to tell all of you men out there: I don’t care how beautiful a woman is. God has a lot to say about that beautiful woman that you better read about. King Solomon, who had all of the beautiful women in the world more than any other man in the history of the world, said, “I find more bitter than death the woman.” And there are women who hate for me to quote that verse because they know what the verse is talking about. How many of you know women—they look beautiful on the outside, but they are corrupt. They’re liars. They’re phonies. They’re hypocrites on the inside. And they want you to cover that garbage up. God has led me to expose it. Okay? And to try to keep women in their marriages with their husband while they’re married to their one and only husband and stay in the marriage so that you can reap the blessings 10 years from now, 20 years from now, when you’re still able to do the “boom boom” and get sexual satisfaction and sexual healing and everything else and get the money and get the fur coat and get the dress and everything else and see your children thrive and do well with your husband together and you’re able to do those normal things together. You can help your children move out together to their dorm room, and you go to the basketball game of your great superstar son together, and his heart is not ripped and broken up because y’all acting like doggone juveniles—almost cuss. God help me. Acting like juveniles. Acting like children, and you want them to be mature. And then if they do anything wrong, now all y’all, you devils, want to come down on them. And y’all acting worse than them. Breaking up a marriage and a family when God told you not to do that. Okay. It’s just foolishness.
And it doesn’t matter to me whether these people are rich or they are well-known or famous. It doesn’t matter. There’s regular people with broken hearts and broken lives. And you hate to see it. I don’t want to ever see another man as forlorn and sad as Tom Brady was at that wedding. He should have had—you know why he was about to cry? He should have had his beautiful model wife at that wedding with him and his children if they were allowed. That’s what broke his heart. His marriage is broken over nothing, over foolishness, over his own foolishness—trying to be the non-jealous husband. What? And those men who—and they didn’t even try to get her. And she’s not the kind of woman who can be easily got. And they got your wife, Tom Brady, over your foolishness. And now you’re sitting here in the car by yourself about to cry at a man’s wedding you hardly know. And they invited you because you were famous. That’s all.
What a sick aspect of that wedding, by the way. Why do you want a bunch of famous people who have got egos at your wedding who you don’t even know? You just think that you’re from the heels and you think that you are important because you can invite these Hollywood heel people who need nothing. I believe—I wish that they would have thought about this—and just filled up the whole Madison Square Garden with the fans who have come and watched them play football and watched her sing. And just filled it up with the little people and not all these doggone, phony, stinking stars. But anyway, I digress. Who cares about that? It means nothing. That was the wrong move to me, because they’re just country folks. Kelsey and Taylor Swift are just country people who made good. They’re not sophisticated, not at all. In fact, their appeal is that they’re all middle America, salt of the earth people from those kinds of families, that kind of family. Anyway.
She made this sweeping apology to her exes—Martin Lawrence and Emmitt Smith. She said—why we don’t hear too much from Emmitt Smith? Because that’s the kind of guy he is. He’s one of the good fellas. And not like the gangsters. I mean, he’s one of the good guys. OK? That’s all. Just like Craig Trice—just good-hearted people. And they’re not player-players. They don’t want all that drama. And they’re going to let you go head on and ride on out and not going to say a whole lot about it. They’re going to know you’re wrong, and they’re going to treat you as gentlemen. And if you need money, they’re going to give it to you. I wouldn’t, but they’re going to give it to you.
She’s finally taking responsibility—and I give her credit for that—for her role, her bad role in the marriages. She said, “I didn’t do the healing.” And this is, see, this is another—Lord have mercy. This is what is so disgusting. This is a non-Opera-type apology that means nothing. Emmitt Lawrence—okay, Martin—it means nothing at all. “I apologize for not doing the healings. I guess before I met you, I was not healed. And while I was with you, I was not healed. I didn’t do the healing.” What are you talking about?
And see, good, kind men like Emmitt, they’ll listen to that and they won’t get it. And they’ll listen to it. And, you know, they’ll say that under their breath that they’re stupid. You seem pretty healed to me when you were spending my money. You seem pretty healed to me when I bought that big fine house on Porkchop Hill. You seem pretty healed to me when I bought that Range Rover. I mean, where were you not healed at? Lord have mercy. I know I’m preaching real good right now.
You say, “Don’t you fear that Tom Brady is going to sue you, Deion is going to sue you, that Emmitt Smith is going to sue you, that Martin Lawrence—they ain’t going to sue nobody. They’re not going to sue me about this, but I’m saying things that they want to say and should say.” How about all of that to when you didn’t do the healing? That’s not an apology. What about when you called me a stupid ass? What about when you belittled me in front of my fellow players by whoring around and showing your ass? Huh? What? Oh, preacher, wait a minute. I thought you were a preacher. I am a preacher. I’m just talking to you like they’re talking.
Why did you mess over me and married another man? I had just as much money as he had, just as much fame all over the world. People watch Martin all over the world. Okay? Why did you do me like that? We both have been embarrassed. You left me for a football player, and then you left the football player for what? Because you’re not healed? You messed up all of our children by walking out. How do you think I felt when you called me a weak-ass man? I’m providing weak-ass millions of dollars for you to live on. A million dollars worth of jewelry. When I buy you a new car every year. When I have $100 million life insurance on me and I told you about it. Is that weak ass?
How about when you were talking to me about your first husband? And how you were talking to your girlfriend on the phone—I caught you talking with your girlfriend on the phone, talking about, “Yeah, my first son, he was really bigger and better in bed.” You didn’t think I heard about that. You didn’t think I heard that, did you? I’m telling you now, I heard it. And yet I married you. And we had a real family—20 years, three or four children. And you talked about me like a dog. How do you think I felt when you wanted to go visit your first husband and spend the night with him and your daughter? I mean, that’s disrespectful. And you wanted me to go along with it. Because you talk with your little cheerleader girlfriends and the Cowboys and they lied to you and they lost their minds already themselves telling you that “he won’t let you do that, honey child. It’s your daughter. I mean, you ought to spend some time with her and her father.” No, you don’t. No, sir. No, ma’am. No, no, no. We’re not going to have that. And I’m the one raising his daughter. I’m the one paying the big bucks and got to go through, you know, this, that, and the other and helping you to help her go through her period years—period coming on. And I’m here. I’m here the one.
And this is what I believe now: if you had a baby for another man and the baby is with me—is with Emmitt Smith—then we don’t need to hear from him. I can buy him. We don’t need for him coming by. He don’t need to come by and take her to lunch. That didn’t work out. Y’all are not married anymore. And I say this to all men who have children out of wedlock: Now, she meets somebody. You didn’t marry her. Let me say it again—you didn’t marry her. Leave her alone. Don’t go over there knocking on that man’s door and tell me, “I want to see my son.” Negro, have you lost your mind? Leave them alone. They’re married. And I just don’t understand why we can’t get together since we had a child together. Well, that’s the problem. You should have never had a child with them. See? And that’s why you’re over here now. Because that didn’t work out. And the daughter lived with me. The son lived with me. I’m taking care of them. You ought to be happy about that. No more Martin or nobody else.
But yet, you nice little men, y’all let these women do that. And before you know, she’s back there having sex with Martin—you don’t know what happened. And the child gonna defend her daddy that she doesn’t even see 364 days a year because that’s her daddy. He ain’t done nothing, but that’s her daddy. See, that was painful. That’s painful. All is a mess. That’s why God told you that He hates divorce. Jesus Christ hates divorce so much—He edited Moses, the great Moses. “No, that was not how it was in the beginning.”
And I want to tell you something else: You marry, you divorce, and get married to somebody else—you’re not only committing adultery, you’re living in adultery. See, I fear God taught me to fear Him. I don’t take any credit for that. And the reason why I have never divorced—because I would have to get married because I’ve got to have the sex. I’ve got to have it, okay? You ever heard of Spike Lee’s movie, “She’s Got to Have It”? Well, I’m the man that’s got to have it. I can’t be going no dazed like y’all people, messing around, masturbating, looking at pornography and all this foolishness, trying to swipe left. I don’t have time for that. I have to get married, okay? So I have not chosen to divorce my wife because I fear God. I don’t fear Mrs. Marica White, who’s sitting right here—almost 39 years. I don’t fear her. I’ve never feared any woman. And I don’t give a flip what they try to do. I fear God. That’s the only reason.
And I have taken that passage to mean you get—see, it’s one thing to commit adultery one time, one-night-stand kind of thing. That’s one thing. It’s bad, but it’s one thing. But if you live in adultery or you continue in adultery—and then you live in adultery—that’s another thing. And God—see, that’s a salvation question. Either you’re saved or you’re not saved. Saved people are not going to do that. See, that’s why Emmitt Smith is not married again. That’s why Pat is not married again. That’s why Deion is not married again—because they know better.
Look at me real good. If you think I’m playing, I don’t have to talk with them about nothing. I know how God works inside a person’s heart. I know how Jesus maneuvers in our heart. I don’t have to hear nothing from nobody. I know if you’re born again, anybody—you won’t think twice about doing that bad boy. I know I’m right. Oh, yes, you will. You’re going to think twice. That’s why they’ve studied this thing out. They’ve studied this in Bible classes. But most importantly, they studied this on their own. And what they’re getting is the same thing I got: you get a divorce and get married to somebody else, you’re living in adultery at that point. And you will die in adultery. And the sex is good, but the sex is not worth dying and going to hell. See, that’s the salvation point. Y’all can try to twist it up. I know some of y’all say—even I was stupid one time in telling preachers, “Well, you can go ahead and get married again.” I was stupid and ignorant. And ladies and gentlemen, I’m here to tell you, God showed me that all disobedience to God has made a huge mess in the church, in families, and in the world.
All right, ladies and gentlemen, let me wrap this up. I’m already over the time. I was here earlier this morning at 7 o’clock. By the way, our main church service is at 7 o’clock now. I do try to make it back at 11 to let people know who have not gotten the message. Thank you, Seal, and God bless you. I appreciate your gifts to God and to Jesus Christ. It helps the algorithm big time. Glory be to God in the highest.
With over 6,100 still with us, let me wrap this up. So it’s good that she made the apology—finally taking responsibility for her role. And they all, see, by the way, they’re all going to do that. They’re all going to do that. See? Because they miss that loving, that regular, casual loving. And sex—they miss it. And some of you are going to get mad at me. They’d be crying from their eyes and crying from another area of their body as well. They can’t even control it. And they realize how foolish they were in their behavior. How stupid they were. And then they’ll finally, they’ll say it. And they’ll try to just say it to the husband before—the one she walked out on. But if they say that to you and they do that, you make sure you make it public. Because they want to throw rocks and hide their hands and make people think that the man was wrong. He failed. He was somehow too weak for me. And, you know, they always want to put it on the man. Here it is six years. We ain’t heard nothing.
One thing that I can give Deion Sanders credit for—he didn’t let her do that. And he didn’t let her have custody of the children, if I’m not mistaken. I mean, that was good how that worked out. He had that to work out in his favor—and not in the traditional fashion of “mama is always right.” “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” I never bought that lie from hell.
So it’s good that Pat Smith acknowledged her wrong, but it’s not good enough. And it’s too late. “I didn’t do the healing,” she admitted. Acknowledging that she slid into other people’s identities. You see what she did there? This is so common. And all of you women know it. It’s basically lying. You’re still putting down the man. “I slid into their—my two exes’ identities.” What the? Get out of here. That’s childishness. Okay? No, if you’re going to admit you’re wrong, admit you’re wrong. What about your nasty attitude? Your huffy puffiness where you didn’t even want to speak to Emmitt—the nice man who provided you everything. Well, I mean, I hope you did slide into their identities. They’re your husband. That ought to be your identity. You’re Mrs. Smith now. Or you’re Mrs. Lawrence now. Originally, you’re really Mrs. Lawrence. You never really was the wife of Mr. Smith unless Lawrence committed adultery on you and that was all in the court papers and everything like that. I wouldn’t doubt it because Lawrence is a big dog in every way. He’s so crazy that he might—I wouldn’t doubt it. But I don’t believe that’s the issue here. I believe you’re the issue, Pat Smith. I think you need to go a little bit further with this apology up in here instead of this fake mess that you’re talking about.
Fake mess that you’re talking about. “I slid into other people’s identities.” This is mambo-jumbo bullsheep, people. The world loves to hear this garbage. I don’t know what in the world you’re talking about. And ignorant women like to listen to garbage like this. Y’all been watching Oprah too long. You people have lost your righteous minds. Okay? And even Oprah is better than this on that kind of stuff. “I didn’t do the healing.” It’s always something like that. It’s always, you know, blame. You’re basically blaming your hubby. “I slid into their identity”—basically saying that they didn’t let me have my identity. Their identity is your identity—the man that you’re married to. That’s why your name changes. So you’re willing to take my name and take my money and take my big fine house on Porkchop Hill and eat my refrigerator full of food and eat my chocolate and wear a bracelet I paid $3,000 for—gold, not gold-plated, pure gold—and drive my Range Rover. Go anywhere you want, in your hot pants, disrespecting me, dressed immodestly around other men, and all of that. Listening to your girlfriend—sometimes I don’t even know where you are, like some men don’t. Many men don’t know where their wives are. I can tell you where she is. She’s down there with Bo Peep. That’s where she is. If you can’t find her, I can help you find her. She’s down there with Bo Peep. But see, Bo Peep don’t care nothing about her.
“I didn’t do the healing,” she admitted, acknowledging that she slid into other people’s identity. Acknowledging what? What are you talking about? That’s not an acknowledgement. That’s just some made-up psychobabble. Emmitt, don’t buy any of this foolishness. I know you’re a nicer man—just like Craig Trice is a nicer man than I am. It’s all right. Y’all can be nice. I got your back.
She now claims to be focused on personal—well, here we go. Here we go. No, no, no, baby. You should be focused on God, Jesus, your husband, and your children—not personal growth. I mean, that comes with it. You would grow more taking care of your husband and taking care of your children. And what am I doing? I’m trying to protect not only men—good men—I’m trying to protect women who listen to this garbage and get their minds all twisted up and cause them—thousands of women who like you, Pat—you’re messing up their minds and they’re going to mess up their marriage and they’re going to be out on the street living in a hotel talking about they want love again. And in most cases, they just want penis again. And they don’t want to feel guilty about getting it. See, many women, all they’re concerned about is penis and a hot dog. That’s it. Okay, y’all need to get real about this. You want that regular penis again. You don’t want love. You don’t care anything about love. You don’t love anybody yourself. You barely love yourself. Personal growth. It’s too late. You’ve had two husbands and multiple children by two men and you have not grown? What are you talking about, baby? You need to grow up.
And much of life, even if you’re not saved, my beloved, is simply doing what you’re supposed to be doing, okay? There’s no secret, okay? It don’t matter how—it don’t matter whether or not you feel in love—who cares? “I just don’t feel in love with him anymore.” Well, do you love the Range Rover? Do you love the Cadillac? Do you love the house—the big, fine house with the perfect view around the white folks—they’ve been out there with white folks? Do you love the money that comes into the bank account? You’ve never seen so much money—automatically appears in the bank account. A million dollars. Five hundred thousand dollars. Still getting money from your baby daddy. You guys got money coming in from all over. Did you love that? “I don’t feel like I’m loving it anymore.” Girlfriend, I tell you—I know I’m married to Emmitt Smith and I just don’t feel it anymore. I don’t feel any love. I don’t feel the love anymore. What in the world are you talking about? Do you feel the money? Do you feel the DoorDash orders that come in? In other places, Uber—all over the place—come into the house anytime you want it. Some of you people got Subway sandwiches and Jack in the Box and everything else still in your house. You didn’t even finish eating it. You just order stuff because you like for a package to come.
Yet for those who hold to the immutable Word—the Word of God—this apology rings hollow and tragically late. While it is commendable that she has ceased blaming her husband—that is commendable, but not so much—and publicly stated, “I was at fault.” I mean, that’s good. I’m always ready. I’m always glad to see a woman do that. But she’s not. She’s not. The football field is 100 yards. Is that not right? She came one yard. Unlike Emmitt Smith, who ran hundreds of yards, Mrs. Smith only came one yard. She only ran the ball one yard here—if that. And what is strange about this—many people who are listening to it and reading it and all of that—they don’t see it at all. They think she’s doing something great. She’s not. The damage is already done. The marriage covenant—a sacred reflection of Jesus Christ and the Church—has been broken. The children have borne the heavy cross of a divided household. Painful. Painful and shameful. A pain that no late-coming apology can erase.
The tragedy is compounded by the fact that these individuals claim to be Christians. Okay. Now she brought this up. I would not be sharing this if she did not bring this out into the public domain. And I’m shooting holes in it. This is the furtherance of foolishness. This is an extension of foolishness. You’re still blaming your husbands—like they forced you to slide into their DMs. Oh, wait a minute—slide into their identities. Lord have mercy, Larry. Deacon Atkins. Lord have mercy, Deacon Karamba. They didn’t force you to slide into their identities. I mean, that’s just how God arranged it. Your husband is your identity. You can try to do your little thing on the side, whatever. It doesn’t mean anything. Really, you can do what you want. But your husband—you’re supposed to be helping him. That’s right. You’re supposed to be helping Emmitt Smith run that football. What? “I can’t help train him.” You just do your thing at the house. You make sure he is sexually satisfied. Make sure he is eating that diet that his doctors and coaches told him to eat—have it ready for him. Be there for him. Want to be there for him—to massage his legs and his muscles, which you fell in love with, didn’t you?
So good to see you, Christy, Cynthia. Jackson, God bless you. I call Cynthia Reed, Mrs. White’s aunt, who Brother Sammy Madison called Lady Macbeth. Dr. Atkins said, “Preach on, pastor.” That’s just like saying “sick ‘em” to a dog.
By the way, have y’all heard the story about this woman who recently walked into a store—I think it was a drug store or something—and they accused her of trying to steal some cookies or something. And she went out to the car and got her husband, but she really didn’t go to get her husband. She went to get her dog, and she brought the dog in the store and tried to sick the dog on the people who caught her stealing the cookies. You know, we have lost our minds. That is crazy. Went to the car, Larry Phillips. That’s right, Larry.
Many women just want men for their money or a green card. That’s right. That’s all. And what I’m trying to tell many is: don’t buy that. Don’t be making the money an issue at all. You get the “boom boom” whether you give her money or not. Otherwise, it’s not going to be real. Later for that—get the “boom boom.” And she needs to be doing all of that “boom boom” stuff for free if you married to her. “Preacher, I just can’t believe you saying—” Believe it. Time out for this foolishness. Women are using men for money like they’re prostitutes. And they go bragging to their girl, “And girl, he gave me $1,000. He gave me his credit card, which had a million dollars on it. I spent half a million dollars on myself. Yes, sir.” You’re a prostitute. You’re not a wife.
If they truly walked in obedience to the scriptures, this divorce could have been avoided entirely in every way. You say, “Preacher, aren’t you worried about these men—these big old bad men coming to beat you about what you say?” No, not at all. And I told my wife the other day, Deacon Atkins, Deacon Karamba said, “Boom boom.” That’s right—get the “boom boom,” man. Nothing for that. And don’t go out on a date first. Get the “boom boom” first, then go out on a date. Y’all don’t hear me. I’m trying to help you. Some of y’all wait all week long for the “boom boom” because she’s got you on the schedule and you got to go spend $400. That’s going to give you a heart attack right there. That’s going to be on your mind. You can’t do the “boom boom” well if you got a $400 bill—Ruth’s Chris—on your mind, plus the steak and the potatoes and the butter—that’s going to slow your blood action down, and you can’t even do what you need to do. So get the “boom boom” first thing in the morning and then go eat.
This divorce could have been entirely avoided. See, this happens when the women lead the men, and the church that Deion Sanders was in—but Deion Sanders fought it—and the church that Emmitt Smith was in, they taught the men to be weak like this, and to buy your wife this, and “if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”—”you’re not going to get any boom boom if you don’t go ahead and give her the credit.” All you men in the church, this is the garbage they say to them in these prosperity gospel churches and even in independent Baptist churches. All right, men, we’re going to let the women get on the bus and go shopping—give your card up, give your credit card up. That’s how they win the women over. It’s a psychological game. Okay, don’t fall for that.
So God’s position on marriage is unequivocal. As it is written in Malachi 2:16: “For the Lord, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.” That goes both ways—the husband and the wife. Don’t be treacherous. You see, this is where I believe where the old folks started saying “God does not like ugly.” I believe they were talking about marriage at first and it carried over. That’s what I believe. God does not like ugly up in the household or anyplace else.
Furthermore, our Lord Jesus Christ firmly established the standard in Matthew chapter 19 verses 3 through 9, declaring that Moses permitted divorce only because of the hardness of men’s hearts. Men’s hearts and women’s hearts can become very hard when it comes down to marriage. And that’s how we get into this situation. Deacon Karamba says God does not play. He’s right. Lance McCauley, with over 6,700 with us. Moses permitted divorce only because of the hardness of men’s hearts and women’s hearts, but mostly men. But from the beginning, it was not so. During that time, it was mostly men. Nowadays, it’s mostly women. No-fault divorce—they find out how to get no-fault divorce, buddy. They’re getting it. Okay? There was a time when divorce was not that easy in America. You had to go through a lot to get a divorce. You still got to jump some hoops, but they came up with no-fault divorce. There were so many people getting a divorce—they came up with something called no-fault divorce. But from the beginning, Jesus said it was not so. Christ allows divorce only on the grounds of fornication, adultery. Anything else and the remarriage that follows constitutes living in adultery.
And see, this verse right here—this is the only reason why I never even thought about getting a divorce from Mrs. Marica White, who admits she has never been a good wife, a good mother, or a good woman. And she has apologized for that.
Prior to this union, prior to this marriage, I warned in an article on bcn1.com—I feel very confident that Emmitt Smith read that article—where I told him not to marry a divorced woman in the first place. Because it’s going to end up like—let me just tell you something about women that’s different than men. A man who has had sex with another woman, especially as his wife or otherwise, that woman is never going to forget that man. That’s right, Mr. Phillips. God bless you. Thank you so much. She’s not going to forget that man. A man can have sex with a woman and not even remember her name if he saw her. That’s not the case with all women now. I am ashamed before God to have to admit that I have had sex with a couple of women in my life that if I met them on the street or in the grocery store, I would not recognize them. I would not know their name. I’m ashamed before God Almighty, but I have to tell the truth. That’s not all women that I’ve been with, but there’s some women I would not even—and had great sex with them—but I could not. I can’t remember their names. I can’t even remember their faces. God have mercy. Okay? And that’s the case with most men. But for a woman, that’s not the case. If she has sex with you, she’s going to remember you. And she’s going to remember you for the rest of her life—unless she’s a prostitute, unless she’s a whore on the streets selling her body.
So that’s number one: no man should marry a divorced woman. Leave her be. Okay? And don’t be out here tomorrow—”I want to have pity on her and take care of her children.” You’re asking for hellaciousness. Some of you men are just too kind and too good. Okay? Because she’s going to remember that man. She’s going to remember whatever you want to call him—first love, first husband, and all of that. And she’s going to be feeling guilty that that broke up while she’s married to you. And we’ll bring him up. And when she gets a hunger and a taste for him, she’ll bring him up and talk about, “Well, I want to take my daughter to go see her daddy.” Well, I thought I was her daddy. “Well, you know, you’re not her natural father.” And before you know it, they—down in the cut—doing the “boom boom” again, trying to have another baby. Don’t do it.
Especially, I wrote in the article—do not marry a divorced woman, and particularly one who had been married to another high-profile figure like Martin Lawrence. You don’t want to do that. You’re asking for trouble. So good to see Diana with us. George, Pesani, God bless you. You’re asking for trouble.
See, we’re not talking about sexual prowess. We’re talking about bigness of personality. Bigness of how you make a woman feel. You know, we always say, “I love the way he makes me laugh” and all this kind of thing. Martin Lawrence is a laugh machine. You don’t want to—you can’t make a woman laugh like Martin Lawrence. And Martin Lawrence is crazy. Okay, so he’s going to do all the crazy things she wants him to do. And she’s going to remember that and she’s going to miss it. Okay. I’m telling all men. And you don’t want to marry somebody who already has another man’s child. Don’t do that. I didn’t tell you to do that. God didn’t tell you to do that. Always remember before you get killed that the father’s child is somewhere. The warning was rooted in the understanding that marriage is a divine ordinance, not a revolving door of celebrity convenience. This revolving—trading out wives and making—and you think you’re important because you’ve married Martin Lawrence’s wife? That’s stupid.
And now with the divorce finalized and the ink long dry, the counsel to Emmitt is clear: Pat—I forget his last name now, but I call her Pat Smith—just as Christ has forgiven all of us, to withhold forgiveness would be sin and wrong. So forgive her whatever she’s asking for forgiveness, but only that. Not a full blanket forgiveness. She’s asking for forgiveness of something I think is very weak—talking about she slid into your identity and whatever in the world that is. I don’t know what she’s talking about. You can forgive that, but don’t forgive any more than that.
So, however, Emmitt Smith must not confuse forgiveness with romantic reconciliation. No, sir. No, sir. Don’t get all teary-eyed and get all soft in your heart and think she wants you back like that. She does not, and you should not want her back like that. He must not fall for her craving for intimate love now. And Sister Pat—I said Sister Pat Smith—she ought not be craving that either. Not at this point. Because she knows she really cannot fulfill this. She’s not married to anybody. And she’s not married to Mr. Smith anymore and she’s not married to Mr. Martin—Lawrence—anymore. You see how messy this is? And may God help the children.
And so the Lord is leading me to rebuke that spirit so that other women won’t buy into this garbage that some pastors and pastors’ wives have produced. And she was dealing with some kind of psychologist/counselor—I guess she’s seeing him—some kind of psychologist or counselor. And I’m not saying his name. I don’t even want to give him any air. I’m not even dealing with him. He’s got a bunch of letters behind his name, which means nothing today—which means nothing at all today. Most of these degrees and certificates and stuff today that people have, they don’t mean a doggone thing. Don’t pay any attention to those letters. Don’t even ask them about the letters. Many of them are probably made up. I wouldn’t give a flip about a counselor with a bunch of letters behind their name—not a flip. I wouldn’t give a flip about that. It means nothing. These people can get these little diplomas from these little diploma mills for $150. They’re not worth the paper they’re written on. And some of these fake degrees that’s running rampant in so-called churches where you can graduate with a doctorate from your pulpit and have your people to bestow it upon you—that’s nothing.
I remember a long time ago, a long time ago, man. I had not even traveled around the world to preach the gospel one time. This preacher by the name of Doctor—and I’m going to just say Dr. Reynolds, I don’t want to say, but some of you all will know him by his full name—he said, “Brother,” he introduced me to this Bible college up in Kentucky, Bowling Green, Kentucky. And, you know, took a little course or whatever, and they took into account that I had preached the gospel for a certain amount of years. And they wanted to bestow a degree upon me. And Dr. Reynolds wanted me to use it because he was using it. And since that time, I could have called myself “Dr.” if I was unethical. I could have called myself “Dr. Daniel Whyte III.” Sounds impressive, but it’s not true, see. And so I took a little piece of paper, but I never, never used it or allowed people to call me doctor. Because that’s not true. Okay, people? So I wouldn’t give you five cents for these little degrees—fake degrees and fake. They try to razzle and dazzle. That don’t mean anything. So I’m not even mentioning this guy. He sounds important to you people. He doesn’t sound important to me. Okay. And Emmitt, don’t pay any attention to that man. She may try to get you to go and see him. Don’t go and see that man. That man does not know what he’s talking about.
Emmitt Smith must not fall for her craving for intimate love now. It is simply too late. And may God help her if she tries to get that intimate love from Bo Peep down the street. There is too much muddy water under the bridge, especially if she has been physically intimate—in other words, had sex with another man since the divorce. And I’m here to tell you, I hope that she has not. I hope that he has not. But I will tell you this: have you been married and you got vagina and penis available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and you’re not getting any now for years? I don’t know how people do that. I’ll just be honest with you. I know y’all can’t stand the fact that I talk like that, but I’m telling you—I don’t know how in the world y’all make it. Because that is something in my view that ought to happen every morning upon sunrise. In fact, my order of the day is: sex first, prayer second, reading the Bible at the same time, and exercise third. In my case, I preach third, then exercise. That’s just on the regular. Okay? And I’m older than all of these people who are doing this today. All right?
So, and I say, “Preacher, you say sex first?” Yeah. “I thought you were so spiritual, preacher, you would put prayer first.” No. I put sex first, like I told you. Then prayer, because I may have to confess some sins—I may have uttered something while having sex that I should not have uttered. And so I stopped that a long time ago. And plus, prayer could kill my buzz, if you will. Okay? Going to church first can kind of take that fire out of that sex drive. So I don’t do that. If sex is on my mind, I have sex first. I do what I’m going to do. And then I pray. And then I read the Bible, and then I preach, and then I exercise. Stacey, Tony, everybody.
So, especially if she has been physically intimate with another man since the divorce—according to the biblical standard, that door is closed. That’s according to God’s Word. Maybe not your word, but God’s Word. And so Deacon Emmitt Smith must take heed to his spirit. And by the way, Emmitt Smith and Pat Smith, if you’re still going to The Potter’s House Church, I would advise you not to go there anymore. And find you another Bible-based biblical church, but that’s on you.
Yes, Emmitt Smith should forgive Patricia from a distance. Release the bitterness and go on with his life in peace. The bed has been defiled, and the covenant has been broken. Let him serve God, raise his children to the best of his ability in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and find his solace not in a second chance at romance, but in the peace that passeth all understanding through Jesus Christ. A late apology cannot rebuild the altar—the marriage altar.
Emmitt Smith’s ex-wife admits fault, but the biblical verdict: forgive her, but do not take her back. The biblical counsel that I’m giving to Emmitt Smith after Patricia Southall’s related confession: Too late, too late—too little, too late. Patricia Southall wants love again. For God’s standard, Malachi 2:16 has already been violated. Hardness of heart leads to broken homes. Emmitt Smith’s ex-wife takes the blame, but the children—well somewhat—but the children still suffer the consequences. God hates divorce because of mess like this—continual, ongoing death in their lives.
Do you know sometimes the children act like they’re wiser and smarter than the parents when it comes to this? I guarantee you there was a daughter—I wouldn’t put it past even Martin’s daughter—saying to Pat, “Mom, don’t mess this up.” I have never talked with Martin’s daughter or her daughter or with Emmitt or anybody, but I guarantee one of those—listen to me, listen to me real good. I don’t know their children, don’t want to know their children, but I guarantee you—and it’s oftentimes the daughter who will say to mommy, “Now mommy, don’t mess this up. Emmitt Smith is—maybe he’s not my natural dad—but he is a good man. Don’t mess this up. And I know how you are. You’re hot to trot. Mom, don’t mess this up. You can’t stay seated for long. Do not mess this man’s life up. Because you’re hot to trot. Mom. Okay? This is a good man.” I have no doubt that one of the children said this. It’s mostly going to be one of the daughters. The sons will think the same thing, but they will not say it. They will not say it. I’m just saying that in passing. Y’all call me and let me know if I’m right. Did your child tell you not to do this foolishness?
And now it’s six years—going on seven years later—and you’re still not satisfied. Now you’re talking about you want love again. Who? Where is he? Why? They don’t want you back. Neither one of them—you left them embarrassed already as men. They both have used you up and ran through you, and so they don’t want you back. They don’t. I know they don’t. They don’t know where you’ve been. Let me quit.
Muddy waters and broken vows: why Emmitt Smith must forgive his ex-wife but refuse—well, forgive her what she’s confessing, which is not much. Emmitt Smith ran for hundreds of yards; Pat Smith only ran for a half a yard with her apology, which means nothing—does not mean anything to me. That’s going to mean something to the nice guy Emmitt Smith. It’s not going to mean anything to Martin Lawrence at all. He won’t hear it—he’ll just, ain’t nothing. Okay. Her plea—forgive his ex-wife, but refuse her plea for rekindled intimacy. And you know, there are people who will send a message out to people in public, and hopefully they’ll bite on it. Hopefully they’ll get a phone call.
Shall we pray?
Holy Father God, I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, as you know, this is not a typical message, but something that I believe needs to be dealt with because there’s a lot of pain in the church over foolishness—the foolishness of women who have messed up good marriages and are now getting tired of trying to be the man they wanted to be. And they want to be nourished again, cherished again rather—have that intimacy again, that love again, and all of that which they lost because they wanted to be misindependent. So many men are falling for it. So many women are listening to these women who don’t know what they’re talking about.
And Lord, I pray that men would rise up and lead their wives and stop listening to them—their wives and their girlfriends and the pastor’s wife and the weak-backed, hen-pecked, controlled and dominated pastor man who acts like a sissy. God help us. Cast the devil and the demons of hell and the satanic, demonic spirit of Judas, Jezebel, Sanballat, and Tobias—not only out of Mrs. Marica White, my wife of over 39 years who is sitting right here, but out of other people who have been infected with the same demons in their lives, and children’s lives are messed up. Men who were once boys—boys to men—were in the NFL still brokenhearted over the fact that their father and their mother didn’t make it. And they saw others make it.
And so, Lord, I pray that You would comfort the children, strengthen the children, save the souls of the lost involved, and Lord, help the people who are causing these problems to get saved and to mature and to stop acting like juveniles. Save that soul that’s near as hell, reclaim the backslidden, and revive the saved. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray and for His sake. Amen.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s been a joy being with you today with over around about 6,000 people who have stayed with us throughout this almost three-hour message. Mr. Ruiz is with us as he normally is—right now is at 4,900. And so we thank God for all of you being here. Some of you came in, some of you had to go, some of you came back. But we averaged about 6,000 people according to their stats today.
And if you are here and you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, please come to know Him as your Savior by believing in Jesus Christ—believing that He suffered, He bled, and He died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of Almighty God. Pray and ask Him to save you, and He will save you. Because the Bible says, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Pray the sinner’s prayer right now. If you want to be saved from the burning hell, and saved from your sins, and saved from the great white throne judgment and the lake of fire, repeat after me phrase by phrase and mean it from your heart:
Holy Father God, have mercy and grace upon me a sinner. Please forgive me of my sins. Cast all demons out of my life. As I now believe in You, Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You suffered, You bled, and You died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose on the third day. Lord Jesus Christ, please come into my heart and into my spirit and save my soul from the burning hell. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. And Lord, help me to change—to permanently change. And help me to repent of my sins permanently. And help me to follow You in the newness of life. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray and for His sake. Amen.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is always tough for me to say bye or goodbye to you, particularly as we have been in a service as long as this one. But may God bless you tonight throughout this Sunday afternoon, throughout this evening. Think about the things that you heard today. The full sermon with the raw transcript will be available here shortly. Share it with family members and friends. Take heed to it. Don’t buy into the okie doke. Don’t buy into the lies. Don’t buy into the foolishness. Stop listening to the devil. Pray to God and read God’s Word and do right by God. Obey God.
I know your marriage feels like nothing and it seems like you hate one another and you’re bitter towards one another and you’re acting more and more mean towards one another. But don’t throw away the baby with the bathwater. Determine to keep your marriage together—particularly if you come from a family of broken marriages, divorces. Nobody should want to live that way. Slip, sliding away into sin—committing fornication, committing adultery, masturbating, watching pornography and all of that foolishness—and you feel guilty as a Christian. Let’s go ahead on and stay married and pray for your spouse. Pray for yourself. Keep God in the midst of it, you husbands. Turn your wife over to God if she’s full of hell and the devil. Pray for her. And God will deal with them. If you are not strong enough to deal with them, God will deal with them for you. Because God does not like ugly.
God bless you, dear friends. Until next time, to our Marine friend who came in the services today—Semper Fidelis, be always faithful to the Lord in this case. And being faithful to the Lord in this case is being faithful to your marriage vows. Don’t bow your head yet—it’s not time to pray. And remember the motto of the Space Force and the Air Force: “Semper Supra”—Always Above. Keep your heart and mind staying on the Lord above, and He will keep you in perfect peace.
God loves you. Jesus Christ loves you. And I love you in the Lord.
Those of you who got saved, those of you who believe in Jesus Christ, here are your next easy steps:
Number one: Get baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. If I die tonight, still go get baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Number two: Start praying. Pray without ceasing. Pray every day, three times a day, like King David and the prophet Daniel. And pray the Lord’s Prayer found in Matthew 16. If you don’t know it, pray it every day for 100 days.
Number three: Read the Bible every day along with prayer. Read the Gospel of John all the way through. If you never read any more of the Bible—books of the Bible—read John, the Gospel of John, all the way through. But you need to read on—read all of the New Testament and then read the Old Testament as well. We’ll help you with that on a daily basis. We read the Bible every day in order. Okay?
Number four: Obey the Bible because Jesus Christ said that if you love Me, keep My commandments.
Number five: Be a witness for the Lord. If you can’t do anything else, please get some gospel tracts and pamphlets from Fellowship Tract League and pass them out. Go to your favorite bathroom—you know that favorite bathroom that you like in public. You really don’t like going to a public bathroom, but you found one in a restaurant where the door locks—not just the stall, but the door locks. And in your favorite bathroom, leave a gospel pamphlet every time you go there. It may be Del Taco. It may be Chipotle. Wherever you stop into that bathroom—there’s only one toilet—you leave that gospel pamphlet on the back of that toilet. Leave one in the little divot of the mirror. And you can order free gospel pamphlets from Fellowship Tract League: FellowshipTractLeague.org.
God bless you, dear friends. Until next time, pray for us. Follow us. Like us. If the Lord leads you to support us, you can do so quickly at Cash App: $DanielWhyteIII (W-H-Y-T-E, capital I, capital I, capital L).
God bless you, dear friends. Until next time, pray for me as I pray for thee. Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. We’ll see you soon. Glory be to God, everybody.

He has preached the Gospel and the Word of God in person across America and in over 24 countries to thousands of people. He has preached the Gospel and the Word of God to millions of people around the world with the help of the internet, preaching live and on-demand multiple times a day for over eight years, to this very day. His mottoes are “Crying in the Wilderness,” “Exiled on the Isle of Patmos,” and “Preaching the Gospel by any means necessary,” all for the glory of God and Jesus Christ.
Daniel Whyte III is the president of the over-40-year-old Gospel Light Evangelistic Society International and the over-37-year-old Gospel Light House of Prayer International. He is known worldwide as the prophet who predicted the Coronavirus Plague over 10 years before it hit in recorded preaching and writing. God also led him to guide thousands through the Coronavirus Plague that killed over 20 million people because of the sins in the Judas-Laodicean church.
Daniel Whyte III’s greatest blessing in this life is his “quiver full” of 10 children—Daniella (Danni), Daniel IV, Danita Evangeline, Danae Mary-Louise, Daniqua Grace, Danyel Ezekiel, Danyelle Elizabeth Breedlove, Danielle Tekeela, Duran-Daniel, and the first Daniel IV (deceased and in heaven with the Lord)—along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Daniel Whyte III has been unblissfully but sexually satisfyingly married to his first and only wife, Meriqua Whyte of Christiana, Jamaica, for over 37 years since December 19, 1987. Jesus Christ said: “And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.” Even though many evangelicals, charismatics, and Protestants try to act as if these words of Jesus Christ are not a reality in our modern Christianity—primarily because of the Satanic-driven prosperity gospel and an over-positive philosophy, which is a lie not based in reality or biblical truth—the words of Jesus Christ are true for every person who preaches the Gospel. The outcomes of the Gospel are a changed life and opposition from family, lukewarm Christians, Laodicean-Judas pastors and churches, the world, and the devil. This is a reality in our present evil world.
While Daniel Whyte III thoroughly enjoys his married life because he did not allow his wife to have her way at any point and was and is solidly and biblically the head of his household throughout the marriage—often quoting Joshua, “As for me and my house, we’re going to serve the Lord” “up in here!”—and because his wife never failed in the very important area of sex, which he got married for in the first place to avoid sinning against God, he has especially enjoyed the privilege and joy of raising his children in the Lord virtually by himself. He served the Lord with them every day of their lives, from the time they were born until they graduated from college, became adults, and moved on.
However, his wife, Meriqua Whyte—motivated by Satan, with a Pharaoh-style pride mixed with the well-known female Jamaican-style pride, stubbornness, rebelliousness, and witchcraft—has been his greatest Judas enemy in the world and has been what Paul spoke of: a “messenger of Satan” and a “thorn in the flesh.” Amazingly, and by the grace of God, that Satanic evil opposition has spurred Daniel Whyte III on to preach the Gospel probably more times than any man on record. God has honored him because he did not “hearken to the voice of his wife.” Whyte tells other Christian men to only hearken to the voice of God and Jesus Christ—not to their wives, as so many thousands of church men have been taught by pastors and other older men throughout the years. Remember, we are in this worldwide, multi-generational mess because Adam hearkened to the voice of his wife and not to the voice of God.
Before they were married, Daniel Whyte III told his wife Meriqua Whyte that they would not do family life as her parents did, because their married life was hellacious and ended in divorce, as did some of her other family members, including the aunt she was living with. He also told his wife they would not do family life as his parents did, because it was also hellacious and out of order since his mother was the head of the household, not his father. But thanks be to God, they never got a divorce. Whyte told his wife before they got married that they were going to do it God’s way according to Ephesians chapters 5 and 6, or no way at all. And then he asked his wife, “Are you willing to do marriage God’s way according to Ephesians chapters 5 and 6?” And she said yes. Whyte told her before they got married that if she did not live up to her end of the deal, all bets were off.
Because Daniel Whyte III’s wife, Meriqua Whyte, was so proud, unsubmissive, stubborn, and rebellious after they got married, God led him to read Ephesians chapters 5 and 6 every day in their family devotions throughout their marriage. In the first year of their marriage, Daniel Whyte III also gave his wife a list of verses for women from the Word of God for her to read, which she still reads to this day. He also bought her many books to read to help her be the wife God wanted her to be.
Whyte realized early in the marriage that his wife was not a born-again, saved person even though she lied and said she was before they got married. After over 37 years of marriage, she is still not saved, never bearing any fruit of a saved person, to the point of not even wanting to tell her children, “I love you” and not wanting to hug them when they were little children, even after her husband told her to do so. She also hated the daily family devotions that her husband led and tried to hinder them. She also demonically hated and tried to hinder every Gospel preaching service to this very day.
However, only by the grace of God, they are still married, and despite the devil constantly working through his wife to try to hinder him from preaching the Word of God, he is still preaching the Gospel and the Word of God live and on-demand. His ministry reaches over 148,800 people per month with over 21,000 unique views per month, reaching 149 countries, preaching the Gospel and the Word of God in 2 to 3 services a day, 7 days a week. Glory be to God!
Mrs. Meriqua Whyte’s Apology to her Husband and Their 7 Children for not Being a Biblical Wife or Mother
Mrs. Meriqua Whyte, the Wife of Daniel Whyte III, Gave him the Best Father’s Day Gift Ever About 10 Years Ago When She Unexpectedly and Voluntarily Apologized for the First Time to Him and Their 7 Children for Not Being the Wife, Mother, and Christian Example of the Woman She Should Have Been Over the Past 37 Years of Marriage
Here is what Mrs. Meriqua Whyte wrote ten years ago after verbally apologizing to the entire family on Father’s Day, right before church service:
Over thirty years of marriage. Over thirty years of ups and downs. Over thirty years of trying to make our problems a personal thing between my husband and me. Thankfully, he did not allow me to do that and kept telling me it was between God and me—over thirty years of acting on my feelings and not on what the Bible says. Over thirty years of refusing to obey God’s simple command to a wife—to be obedient to your husband in all things. Over thirty years of disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, and dishonesty, all rooted in pride. Over thirty years of simply not choosing to mature as a Christian.
God has been dealing with me for over thirty years now about changing my attitude and behavior as a wife, which has manifested itself in disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, dishonesty, having an ungodly attitude and spirit, and simply not being the wife, mother, or example of a Christian woman that I should have been throughout the years. (By the way, for those of you who may be thinking that my disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, lying, and dishonesty have resulted in adultery, I will say here that I have never committed any adultery or had sex with another man besides my husband, Daniel Whyte III, since I was born.)
God kept telling me I needed to stop my rebellious and stubborn behavior, apologize to my husband and children, and get my heart right with him, my husband, and my children. He sent others my way to tell me how to behave:
- My husband, but I didn’t want to hear it from him
- Other Christian women speakers
- Other preachers
- Books and other materials, but I would not take heed
I knew what to do, but I chose not to do it. The devil had me thinking and believing—as he is having a lot of wives and mothers think and believe—that your relationship with your husband and how you respond to him, whether positive or negative, will not affect your relationship with your children or your relationship with God. I say without hesitation that this is one of the devil’s lies, and sad to say, many wives and mothers are falling for this lie.
Another lie of the devil that Christian wives are falling for is that you can still have a strong relationship with God without being submissive to your husband. Lie! Lie! Lie! There is no truth to this. I know because I have experienced this and am still experiencing this as I am going through this breaking process, which is not happening overnight.
Even throughout my years of rebelliousness, stubbornness, and pride, I still kept praying the prayer I used to pray daily before I got married: “Lord, make me be exactly what You want me to be. Lord, break, make, and mold me into what you want me to be.” Well, God took that prayer seriously, and once you accept Him, He will begin the breaking process. It’s up to us how long that breaking process will take. For me, sad to say, it has taken over 30 years, and the breaking is not complete. In what way is God breaking me down right now? Well, our children have grown up. The three oldest have gone through and are still going through college, have gotten their degrees, and some are working on their second, third, and fourth degrees, launching their careers and moving out. God slapped me into reality and truly intensified the breaking process. My husband told me before our first child was born and repeatedly while the children were young that my job was to love our children and make positive memories with them and that if I did that, I would have a wonderful relationship with them as adults in the time to come. Well, I disobeyed God and my husband, who did not let up on his duties. And he has a wonderful relationship with our children, even the girls, and I don’t. However, God led me to finally break the day before Father’s Day, and while I was helping my husband get dressed to preach, I asked him if I could apologize to him and the entire family. That’s the first time I ever did that on my own. Throughout the years, he has always told me that I needed to get my heart right with God, him, and my children; otherwise, I would never have the joy and peace of the Lord in my life. However, I kept on lying and denying that I was the problem.
Here is what I said to my husband and children on Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2017, the day before Father’s Day. My husband told the entire family that this was the best Father’s Day gift I have ever given to him:
“Daddy, children, I apologize for not being the wife, mother, and example of a Christian woman I should have been throughout the years. I have shown nothing but pride, disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, and a bad attitude and spirit toward God and my husband in front of you. My disobedience and rebelliousness have caused much unnecessary unrest and upheaval in the family. As my husband told me, things could have gone much better if I had obeyed God’s word from the beginning. Please accept my apology, and I am asking you to forgive me.”
The diminishing of peace and joy in my life throughout the years I brought on myself. Not having a proper relationship with God, my husband, and my children, I brought on myself—all because I chose the disobedient route. My number one desire is to live a life of peace—peace with God, my husband, and my children. I have learned that peace will not come as long as I live in disobedience, rebelliousness, stubbornness, and pride.
I will end this with two notes: (1) Happy Father’s Day to my husband: you have been a great husband and father. (2) Happy Children’s Day to my children: You all have been great children. I have no complaints whatsoever against my husband and, of course, children; you have never been at fault. My bad behavior is all on me, and I’m sorry I put you through this. May God bless your lives, and I love you.
Ephesians 5:22 – 6:20 (KJV)
Below is the passage in the Bible that Daniel Whyte III read in their family devotions every day for decades. It covers the biblical duties of the husband, the wife, and the children, and includes how to fight against the devil who is seeking to destroy the family.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
The Gospel in a Nutshell
If you were to die today, where would you go: Heaven or Hell? If you’re not sure, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
Jesus Christ said the most important words ever spoken in the history of the world when He said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

The Most Important Question in the World: Have You Been Twice Born?
This is the “Chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #447, titled, “The Big Question.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says: that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.
“Have You Been Born Again?”
The question is not, “Have you joined a church?” or “Are you trying to do your best?” or “Do you have religion?” but, “Are you twice-born?” Jesus Christ said in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
We enter the physical world by birth. Spiritual life, likewise, is entered with a birth. We become members of a human family by birth; we become members of the family of God by birth, by being “born again.” There is no other way to get into the human family except by birth, and there is no other way to get into God’s family except by the new birth. Neither education, nor cultivation, nor reformation, nor “turning over a new leaf,” will accomplish this. What is needed is not a new “leaf” but a new “life”! “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).
A New Nature Needed
By physical birth, we become partakers of human nature; by being born again, we become “partakers of the divine nature.” A Christian is the product of a divine “begetting.” The second birth is not an improvement of the old nature; it is the imparting of an entirely new nature. The old nature is hopelessly corrupt and incapable of ever being made fit for His presence. The new birth requires a creative act of the Holy Spirit. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”
Not “Trying” But “Trusting”
“Trying to follow Christ” is not Christianity. Christianity is not imitation of Christ; it is the indwelling of Christ. Christianity is not trying to do anything. It is trusting Christ, who has done it all! He has “finished the work,” and there is nothing left to do but simply to receive and trust Him. He shed His precious blood on the cross, and the work is all done once and forever! Cease trying and begin trusting! Believers will progressively become more and more like Christ, but by His power, not their own.
What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Simply “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible says in 1 John 5:1, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.” The Bible states in John 1:12-13, “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
You are born again, you become a Christian by trusting a Person—receiving a Person. The very moment you do this, the Lord Jesus Christ comes in and life begins!
What Is Meant By “Believe”?
To “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” means more than simply believing the historic facts concerning Him. Intellectual belief about Christ is not sufficient. The belief that brings salvation must be “with the heart,” that is, with the whole being. This belief also includes repentance: “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible states in Acts 17:30, “God… now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.”
The faith which saves, then, includes the necessity to repent and to receive Christ as Savior and Lord, to rest upon Him alone for salvation. It means to trust Him so utterly and completely that, if He should fail, there would be no hope at all!
May I Know That I Am Born Again?
This is an important question. We know that we are born again by the testimony of God’s Word. God says in John 5:24, “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Have you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as explained by God’s Word? If so, then you are saved, you are “born again,” you have “passed from death unto life.” God says so! Take God at His Word, and go on your way rejoicing!
One Final Word
You may “belong to a church,” you may be “trying to do the best you can,” you may be “striving to live right.” Your outward life may be the model of moral correctness, and you may be looked up to, honored, revered, and respected. Yet, if you have not been “born again,” you are just as lost as if you had never heard of Christ. Yes, you may teach in the Sunday school, read the Bible, sing, shout, “feel happy,” and all the rest—but if you have never been “born again,” you are still in your sins and a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you want to be saved from the wrath to come and from an eternity in Hell, and if you believe that Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead, and you are willing to trust Jesus Christ with all of your heart so you can go to Heaven, please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer:
Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
