INTRODUCTION

The Letters That Were Not Heeded

In the year 2014, my son Daniel D. P. Whyte IV and I sat down and wrote a novella titled Letters to the Supreme Court. It was a labor of love, a prophetic warning, and a desperate plea all wrapped into one. We wrote those letters in an effort to keep the Supreme Court of the United States from legalizing the abomination of homosexuality. We pleaded with the justices to consider the Word of God, to consider the natural order of creation, and to consider the generations yet unborn who would suffer the consequences of such a fateful decision.

We warned them. We begged them. We quoted the Holy Scriptures to them. We laid out the case from Genesis to Revelation that homosexuality is an abomination in the sight of Almighty God, and that any nation which sanctions such sin invites the judgment of Heaven upon itself.

But the Supreme Court did not take heed.

On June 26, 2015, in Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage across all fifty states. The Court chose the wisdom of men over the wisdom of God. They chose the shifting sands of cultural opinion over the solid rock of divine revelation. They chose the approval of man over the approval of the Creator.

And now, ten years later, we are reaping what we have sown.

This book is my final letter to the Supreme Court. It is written on the occasion of America’s 250th birthday—one I fear may be among the last this nation will ever celebrate. It is a letter of lamentation, of warning, and of prophecy. It is a letter that pleads with the highest court in the land to repent, to turn back to God, and to overturn the wicked decisions that have brought this nation to the brink of destruction.

I write this as one who has been crying in the wilderness for over forty-six years. I write this as one who has warned presidents and pastors, evangelicals and progressives, black and white alike, that the path this nation has chosen leads only to death and judgment. I write this as a prophet of God, exiled on the Isle of Patmos, speaking the truth that no one wants to hear but everyone needs to hear.

May God grant the readers of this book ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches and to this nation.

CHAPTER ONE

The Consequences of a Fateful Decision

What Ten Years of Rebellion Have Wrought

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” — Galatians 6:7 (KJV)

When the Supreme Court legalized the abomination of homosexuality in 2015, they opened a Pandora’s box of wickedness that this nation has not been able to close. They thought they were simply granting “marriage equality” to a small segment of the population. They thought they were being progressive, compassionate, and forward-thinking. They thought they were on the right side of history.

But they were dead wrong.

What we have witnessed over the past decade is not progress—it is regression into the darkest depths of human depravity. What we have witnessed is not compassion—it is cruelty masquerading as kindness. What we have witnessed is not freedom—it is bondage to every imaginable form of sexual perversion.

Let us examine the fruit of the Supreme Court’s decision, for Jesus Himself said, “Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16). The fruit of this decision has been bitter, rotten, and deadly.

The Transgender Tsunami

First and foremost, we have witnessed the rise of transgenderism, which has wreaked havoc in this country like a plague upon the land. Once the foundation of biblical sexuality was undermined, it was only a matter of time before the entire structure collapsed. If a man can marry a man, then why can a man not become a woman? If the definition of marriage can be changed, then why cannot the definition of gender be changed?

The logic of the transgender movement is the logical conclusion of the homosexual movement. They are two sides of the same coin—both are rebellions against the Creator’s design. Both are attempts to remake the world in man’s image rather than God’s. Both are abominations in the sight of the Lord.

And what has this transgender madness brought us?

We now have men going into women’s bathrooms. We now have men competing in women’s sports, destroying the dreams and opportunities of female athletes. We now have people identifying as cats and dogs, as trees and rocks, as whatever their depraved minds can imagine. We now have children being mutilated with puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical procedures that they will regret for the rest of their lives.

Families have been destroyed. Children have been confused. The very concept of biological reality has been called into question. We are living in a nation where NBC News issues a “trigger warning” before using the words “biological male” and “biological female”. We are living in a nation where basic biological facts—established by the Creator Himself—are treated as potentially harmful language.

This is insanity. This is madness. And this is the direct consequence of the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize the abomination of homosexuality.

As I have warned for nearly two decades, the silence of the pulpit and the political maneuvering of the White House have led us to this precipice where we must have a national debate over whether a man can be a woman. This is a testament to our collective rebellion against the clear and unchanging Word of God.

The Complicity of the Church

But let us not place all the blame on the Supreme Court. The Church shares in this guilt. Pastors who remained silent when they should have spoken. Pastors who compromised when they should have stood firm. Pastors who colluded with presidents and politicians rather than standing for the truth of God’s Word.

All pastors and presidents who colluded to do this to this country that God has blessed will answer to God Almighty, and some have already. The blood of this nation’s spiritual demise is on their hands. They preached peace when there was no peace. They cried “peace, peace” when destruction was looming. They sold their birthright for a mess of pottage—for political favor, for social acceptance, for the approval of a dying world.

The silence of the pulpit has been deafening. Where were the prophets when the Supreme Court was deliberating? Where were the watchmen on the walls? Where were the voices crying in the wilderness?

There were a few. My son and I were among them. But we were not enough. The Church was asleep, and while she slept, the enemy sowed tares among the wheat.

The Hollow Victory

Now, in the year 2026, the Supreme Court has issued a decision banning biological males from biological women’s sports. This is a good decision, as far as it goes. It is a step in the right direction. It is a recognition that there is a biological reality that cannot be erased by human feelings, ideology, or foolishness.

But I must tell you plainly: this is a hollow victory. It is not a victory at all.

Why? Because we should not be in this situation in the first place. We are celebrating a return to normalcy, but this “normalcy” is merely a shadow of the righteousness that was once the foundation of this nation. We have been fighting a fire that should never have been allowed to start.

The Supreme Court’s decision to ban men from women’s sports is like putting a band-aid on a gaping wound. It addresses a symptom, but it does not address the disease. The disease is the rebellion against God that began with the legalization of homosexuality and has now metastasized into every area of our national life.

The foundations are still in place. The Supreme Court has not overturned Obergefell v. Hodges. The Supreme Court has not repented of its wicked decision. The Supreme Court has not returned to the God of our fathers.

Until that happens, there is no victory. There is only a temporary reprieve from the judgment that is coming.


CHAPTER TWO

What the Holy Scriptures Say About Homosexuality

The Clear and Unchanging Word of God

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)

The Word of God is clear, unchanging, and eternal. It is not subject to the shifting winds of cultural opinion. It is not subject to the whims of Supreme Court justices. It is not subject to the desires of sinful men and women. The Word of God stands forever, and it declares unequivocally that homosexuality is a sin.

Let us examine what the Holy Scriptures say about this abomination.

The Old Testament Witness

In the Book of Genesis, we read of the creation of man and woman. God created them male and female, and He established the institution of marriage between one man and one woman. “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). This is God’s design. This is God’s order. Anything that deviates from this design is a rebellion against the Creator.

In Genesis 19, we read the account of Sodom and Gomorrah. The men of Sodom sought to commit homosexual acts with the angels who visited Lot. For this wickedness, God destroyed those cities with fire and brimstone from Heaven. The apostle Jude tells us that Sodom and Gomorrah are set forth as an example, “suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” (Jude 1:7). The destruction of these cities is a warning to all generations that God will not tolerate the sin of homosexuality.

In the Book of Leviticus, the law of God is explicit: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination” (Leviticus 18:22). And again: “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them” (Leviticus 20:13).

The word “abomination” in the Hebrew is to’evah, which means something detestable, something loathsome, something that is an object of disgust to God. This is not a mild disapproval. This is not a suggestion. This is a strong condemnation from the mouth of God Himself.

The New Testament Witness

Some would argue that the Old Testament law is no longer binding on Christians. But the New Testament is equally clear on this matter.

The Apostle Paul, writing in the Book of Romans, declares: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet” (Romans 1:26-27).

Paul goes on to say that those who practice such things are “worthy of death” (Romans 1:32). This is strong language. This is clear language. This leaves no room for ambiguity or compromise.

In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Paul writes: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

The phrase “abusers of themselves with mankind” is a translation of the Greek word arsenokoitai, which literally means “men who lie with men.” This is a direct reference to homosexual behavior. And Paul declares that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

In 1 Timothy 1:9-10, Paul again lists homosexuals among the ungodly and sinners: “Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.”

The testimony of Scripture is consistent from Genesis to Revelation: homosexuality is a sin. It is an abomination. It is contrary to God’s design for human sexuality. And those who practice it, without repentance, will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The Consequences of Rebellion

When a nation embraces what God has condemned, that nation invites the judgment of Heaven. The history of Israel is a testimony to this truth. When Israel obeyed God, they were blessed. When they turned to idols and practiced abominations, they were judged. They were conquered. They were scattered among the nations.

America is following the same path. We have embraced what God has condemned. We have called evil good and good evil. We have put darkness for light and light for darkness. We have legalized the abomination of homosexuality and now we are reaping the whirlwind.

“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). America has abandoned righteousness, and now she is a reproach among the nations. The world laughs at us. The world mocks us. And God is not pleased.


CHAPTER THREE

The Opportunity That Was Squandered

The Supreme Court’s Failure to Overturn

“To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” — James 4:17 (KJV)

The Supreme Court had an opportunity. They had a chance to correct their error. They had a chance to overturn all that Obama and Biden did regarding homosexuality and transgenderism. They had a chance to repent and return to the God of our fathers.

But they chose not to do so.

When the composition of the Court changed, when conservative justices were appointed, there was hope that the Court would revisit its wicked decisions. There was hope that the Court would overturn Obergefell v. Hodges. There was hope that the Court would restore biblical morality to the land.

But that hope was dashed. The Court refused to overturn the legalization of same-sex marriage. They refused to address the transgender madness that has engulfed the nation. They refused to take a stand for the truth of God’s Word.

Oh, they made a small gesture. They banned biological males from biological women’s sports. But as I have said, this is a hollow victory. It is not a victory at all. The foundations are still in place. The abomination is still legal. The rebellion against God continues unabated.

The Supreme Court had an opportunity, and they squandered it. They had a chance to save this nation, and they threw it away. They had a chance to honor God, and they chose instead to honor the god of this world.

The Role of Presidents

Let us not forget the role of presidents in this tragedy. President Obama laid the foundation with his support for same-sex marriage and his promotion of transgender ideology. President Biden continued and expanded these policies, pushing transgenderism in schools, in the military, and in every area of public life.

Even President Trump, who appointed conservative justices and who has been celebrated for his opposition to transgenderism, has not done enough. Yes, he supported the ban on men in women’s sports. Yes, he has pushed back against the “gender insanity”. But he has not overturned the legalization of same-sex marriage. He has not called the nation to repentance. He has not returned America to the God of our fathers.

All of these presidents have colluded, in one way or another, with the destruction of this nation. They have all played a part in the rebellion against God. And they will all answer to God Almighty for their actions.

The Complicity of Pastors

But the greatest guilt lies with the pastors. The shepherds of the flock have failed to protect the sheep. The watchmen on the walls have been silent. The prophets have spoken smooth things rather than the truth.

I have warned pastors for nearly two decades not to collude with the government in sanctioning the abomination of homosexuality and transgenderism. I have warned them that their silence would lead to judgment. I have warned them that their compromise would destroy the nation.

But they did not listen. They were more concerned with being liked than with being faithful. They were more concerned with growing their churches than with preaching the truth. They were more concerned with political favor than with the favor of God.

Now, the judgment is coming. And the pastors will be held accountable. “Judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17). The shepherds will answer for the sheep that were scattered. The watchmen will answer for the city that was destroyed. The prophets will answer for the nation that was led astray.


CHAPTER FOUR

The Foundations of Destruction

How America’s Sins Have Undermined Her Future

“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” — Psalm 127:1 (KJV)

America was founded on the principles of God’s Word. The Pilgrims came to these shores seeking religious freedom. The Founders established a government based on biblical principles. The Constitution was written by men who believed in the God of the Bible.

But over the centuries, America has drifted from her foundations. We have abandoned the God of our fathers. We have rejected His Word. We have embraced the idols of this world—the idols of sexual freedom, of materialism, of self-worship.

And now, the foundations are crumbling.

The Destruction of the Family

The family is the basic unit of society. When the family is destroyed, society is destroyed. And the family has been under assault for decades.

The legalization of no-fault divorce made it easy to dissolve marriages. The sexual revolution made promiscuity acceptable. The abortion industry made murder of the unborn legal. The homosexual movement has redefined marriage itself.

Now, we have transgenderism confusing children about their very identity. We have men in women’s bathrooms, men in women’s sports, men claiming to be women and women claiming to be men. We have children being taught in schools that they can choose their gender, that they can be whatever they want to be.

This is not freedom. This is bondage. This is the destruction of the family. And when the family is destroyed, the nation is destroyed.

The Silence of the Pulpit

The Church was supposed to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. But the salt has lost its savor, and the light has been hidden under a bushel. The Church has become complicit in the destruction of the nation.

Pastors who should be preaching against sin are silent. Pastors who should be calling the nation to repentance are preaching “positive messages” that tickle the ears. Pastors who should be standing firm are compromising with the world.

This is not a new phenomenon. The prophets of old faced the same problem. They preached to a people who had turned away from God. They warned of judgment that was coming. And they were ignored.

I have been crying in the wilderness for over forty-six years. I have been preaching the whole counsel of God. I have been warning pastors and presidents, black and white, evangelical and progressive, that judgment is coming. Some have listened. Most have not.

Now, the judgment is at the door.

The Political Maneuvering

The collusion between the Church and the government has been a disaster. Pastors have sought political power rather than spiritual power. They have sought the favor of presidents rather than the favor of God. They have compromised the truth for political advantage.

The political maneuvering of the White House has led us to this precipice. Presidents have used the Church for their own purposes. They have promised religious freedom while undermining religious liberty. They have courted the evangelical vote while promoting policies that are contrary to the Word of God.

This is not the way of the Lord. The Church is not supposed to be a political ally. The Church is supposed to be a prophetic voice. We are supposed to speak truth to power. We are supposed to call the nation to repentance. We are not supposed to be co-opted by the political establishment.

The Abomination of Homosexuality

At the heart of America’s destruction is the abomination of homosexuality. This is not just one sin among many. This is a sin that strikes at the very heart of God’s design for humanity. This is a sin that defies the Creator’s order. This is a sin that brings the judgment of Heaven.

When a nation legalizes what God has called an abomination, that nation has crossed a line. There is no going back without repentance. There is no recovery without turning to God. There is no salvation without confession and forsaking of sin.

America has crossed that line. The Supreme Court legalized the abomination of homosexuality in 2015, and there has been no turning back. The nation has continued to sink deeper into sin. The judgment is inevitable.


CHAPTER FIVE

The 250th Birthday of America

A Celebration or a Lamentation?

“The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” — Psalm 90:10 (KJV)

In the year 2026, America celebrates her 250th birthday. It is a milestone. It is a moment of reflection. It is an opportunity to look back at what we have been and to look forward to what we will become.

But for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, this is not a time for celebration. This is a time for lamentation. This is a time for mourning. This is a time for repentance.

America at 250 is not the America of the Founders. We have strayed so far from our foundations that we are barely recognizable. We have abandoned the God who blessed us. We have embraced the sins that destroy nations. We have become a reproach among the peoples of the earth.

What Would the Founders Say?

Imagine for a moment that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin could see America today. What would they say? What would they think?

They would weep. They would mourn. They would call the nation to repentance.

These were not perfect men. They were sinners like all of us. But they believed in God. They believed in His Word. They believed that a nation must be founded on righteousness.

They would look at America today and see a nation that has forgotten its God. They would see a nation that has embraced what the Bible calls an abomination. They would see a nation that is on the brink of destruction.

And they would say, “Repent! Turn back to God! Return to the faith of your fathers!”

A Nation Without God

America has become a nation without God. We have pushed God out of the public square. We have removed prayer from schools. We have forbidden the display of the Ten Commandments in courthouses. We have mocked and ridiculed those who believe in the God of the Bible.

In our arrogance, we have said, “We don’t need God. We can do it ourselves. We are the masters of our own destiny.”

But we were wrong. We cannot do it ourselves. We are not the masters of our own destiny. God is the sovereign ruler of the universe, and He will not be mocked.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God” (Psalm 14:1). America has become a nation of fools. We have said in our hearts that there is no God, or that God does not matter, or that God is irrelevant to our national life.

But God is not irrelevant. God is not mocked. And God will not be ignored.

The Judgment That Is Coming

The judgment of God is coming upon America. It is not a matter of “if” but “when.” The only question is whether we will repent before it is too late.

The judgment of God has already begun. We have seen the Coronavirus Plague, which God led me to predict over ten years before it hit. We have seen the breakdown of the family. We have seen the rise of violence and lawlessness. We have seen the moral decay of the nation.

These are the birth pangs of judgment. These are the warning signs. These are the calls to repentance.

But America has not repented. We have hardened our hearts. We have continued in our sins. We have mocked the warnings of the prophets.

And so, the judgment will continue. It will intensify. It will become more severe. Until finally, the nation will be destroyed.


CHAPTER SIX

The Prophecy: America Will Not See Another 250 Years

The Word of the Lord Through His Servant

“Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.” — Jeremiah 6:16 (KJV)

I have been preaching the Gospel for over forty-six years. I have been crying in the wilderness, warning the nation of the judgment to come. I have been exiled on the Isle of Patmos, speaking the truth that no one wants to hear.

And now, I must speak a word that is even more difficult. I must speak a word of prophecy that will be unpopular, that will be rejected, that will be mocked. But I must speak it, because God has put it in my heart.

Here is the prophecy: America will not see another 250 years.

I say this not as a man who wants to see America destroyed. I love this country. I have prayed for this country. I have preached the Gospel in this country for over four decades. I have warned this country of the judgment to come.

But I must speak the truth. America has sinned against God. America has embraced the abomination of homosexuality. America has legalized what God has condemned. America has rejected the God of our fathers. And now, America will face the judgment of God.

The Pattern of History

This is not a new pattern. This is the pattern of history. Nations that turn away from God are destroyed. Nations that embrace sin are judged. Nations that reject the truth are brought to ruin.

Consider the nations of the past. Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Greece, Rome—all of these nations were mighty. All of them ruled the world. All of them turned away from God. And all of them were destroyed.

America is no different. We have turned away from God. We have embraced sin. We have rejected the truth. And we will be destroyed.

The only question is when. The only question is how. The only question is whether there will be any survivors.

The Sin That Will Not Be Forgiven

There is a sin that will not be forgiven. There is a sin that brings the judgment of God upon a nation. That sin is the rejection of the truth and the embrace of abomination.

America has rejected the truth. We have been given the Word of God. We have been given the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have been given the light of truth. But we have rejected it. We have chosen darkness over light. We have chosen lies over truth.

And now, the judgment is coming.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

This is the promise of God. If we repent, He will heal our land. If we turn from our wicked ways, He will forgive our sins. If we humble ourselves and pray, He will hear from heaven.

But we have not repented. We have not turned from our wicked ways. We have not humbled ourselves and prayed. And so, the promise does not apply to us. The judgment will come.

CHAPTER SEVEN

A Call to Repentance

Even as I speak this prophecy of judgment, I must also speak a call to repentance. It is not too late for individuals. It is not too late for families. It is not too late for churches.

But it may be too late for the nation.

I call upon every person who reads this book to repent of their sins. Turn away from the abomination of homosexuality. Turn away from transgenderism. Turn away from all sexual immorality. Turn back to the God of the Bible.

I call upon every pastor to preach the truth. Do not be silent. Do not compromise. Do not water down the Word of God. Preach the whole counsel of God. Warn the people of the judgment to come. Call the nation to repentance.

I call upon the Supreme Court to overturn the legalization of homosexuality. Return to the God of your fathers. Uphold the Word of God. Protect the nation from the judgment that is coming.

I call upon the presidents and the political leaders to lead the nation in repentance. Use your influence for good. Use your power to honor God. Do not collude with the enemies of righteousness. Do not promote the abominations that destroy nations.

The Final Words

America at 250 is a nation on the brink of destruction. We have sinned against God. We have embraced abomination. We have rejected the truth. And now, the judgment is coming.

I have written this final letter to the Supreme Court as a plea for repentance. I have written it as a warning of the judgment to come. I have written it as a prophecy of the destruction that awaits this nation.

America will not see another 250 years. Unless we repent. Unless we turn back to God. Unless we return to the faith of our fathers.

But I fear that we will not repent. I fear that we will continue in our sins. I fear that the judgment will come, and the nation will be destroyed.

May God have mercy on America. May God have mercy on the souls of those who are perishing. May God grant repentance to those who have been deceived.

And may the readers of this book take heed to the warning and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone can save.


CONCLUSION

The Final Appeal

“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” — Revelation 22:17 (KJV)

I have written this book as a final letter to the Supreme Court. I have written it as a warning to the nation. I have written it as a prophecy of the judgment to come.

But I have also written it as an appeal to every soul who reads these words. If you have not repented of your sins, I urge you to do so now. If you have not trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, I urge you to do so now. If you have been living in sin, I urge you to turn away from it now.

The judgment is coming. The destruction is at the door. But there is still time for individuals to be saved. There is still time for families to be rescued. There is still time for churches to be revived.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31). This is the promise of God. This is the hope of the Gospel. This is the only way of salvation.

If you are reading this book and you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ, I plead with you: turn to Him now. He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins. He was buried and rose again from the dead. He is the only way to Heaven. He is the only hope for salvation.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

This is the Gospel. This is the good news. This is the message that I have been preaching for over forty-six years. This is the message that I will continue to preach until my dying breath.

May God bless you and keep you. May God grant you repentance and faith. May God save your soul and change your life.

And may America repent before it is too late.

THE GOSPEL IN A NUTSHELL

The Most Important Question in the World: Have You Been Twice Born?

This is the “Chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #447, titled, “The Big Question.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says: that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

“Have You Been Born Again?”

The question is not, “Have you joined a church?” or “Are you trying to do your best?” or “Do you have religion?” but, “Are you twice-born?” Jesus Christ said in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

We enter the physical world by birth. Spiritual life, likewise, is entered with a birth. We become members of a human family by birth; we become members of the family of God by birth, by being “born again.” There is no other way to get into the human family except by birth, and there is no other way to get into God’s family except by the new birth. Neither education, nor cultivation, nor reformation, nor “turning over a new leaf,” will accomplish this. What is needed is not a new “leaf” but a new “life”! “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).

A New Nature Needed

By physical birth, we become partakers of human nature; by being born again, we become “partakers of the divine nature.” A Christian is the product of a divine “begetting.” The second birth is not an improvement of the old nature; it is the imparting of an entirely new nature. The old nature is hopelessly corrupt and incapable of ever being made fit for His presence. The new birth requires a creative act of the Holy Spirit. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”

Not “Trying” But “Trusting”

“Trying to follow Christ” is not Christianity. Christianity is not imitation of Christ; it is the indwelling of Christ. Christianity is not trying to do anything. It is trusting Christ, who has done it all! He has “finished the work,” and there is nothing left to do but simply to receive and trust Him. He shed His precious blood on the cross, and the work is all done once and forever! Cease trying and begin trusting! Believers will progressively become more and more like Christ, but by His power, not their own.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Simply “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible says in 1 John 5:1, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.” The Bible states in John 1:12-13, “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

You are born again, you become a Christian by trusting a Person—receiving a Person. The very moment you do this, the Lord Jesus Christ comes in and life begins!

What Is Meant By “Believe”?

To “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” means more than simply believing the historic facts concerning Him. Intellectual belief about Christ is not sufficient. The belief that brings salvation must be “with the heart,” that is, with the whole being. This belief also includes repentance: “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible states in Acts 17:30, “God… now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.”

The faith which saves, then, includes the necessity to repent and to receive Christ as Savior and Lord, to rest upon Him alone for salvation. It means to trust Him so utterly and completely that, if He should fail, there would be no hope at all!

May I Know That I Am Born Again?

This is an important question. We know that we are born again by the testimony of God’s Word. God says in John 5:24, “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Have you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as explained by God’s Word? If so, then you are saved, you are “born again,” you have “passed from death unto life.” God says so! Take God at His Word, and go on your way rejoicing!

One Final Word

You may “belong to a church,” you may be “trying to do the best you can,” you may be “striving to live right.” Your outward life may be the model of moral correctness, and you may be looked up to, honored, revered, and respected. Yet, if you have not been “born again,” you are just as lost as if you had never heard of Christ. Yes, you may teach in the Sunday school, read the Bible, sing, shout, “feel happy,” and all the rest—but if you have never been “born again,” you are still in your sins and a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you want to be saved from the wrath to come and from an eternity in Hell, and if you believe that Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead. You are willing to trust Jesus Christ with all of your heart so you can go to Heaven. Please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer:

Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
