Daniel Whyte III and Gospel Light Society Worldwide Family Commence Annual 40-day Daniel Fast for Spiritual Healing, Mental Healing, Physical Healing, Family Healing, Sexual Healing, and for Christians to Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing
For Sexual Healing, All Single Christians Are Encouraged to Cease Fornicating and All Married Christians Are Encouraged to Have Sex With Their Spouse Every Day During the 40-Day Fast
Starting January 10th, 2019, we are encouraging all Christians to join the Gospel Light Society family in a forty day fast for spiritual healing, mental healing, physical healing, family healing, sexual healing, and for Christians to keep the main thing the main thing, and that is preaching the Gospel, loving everybody, and praying for everybody.
Spiritual healing comes about through prayer, fasting, confession of sin and opening the heart to God for Him to work in us. James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
Mental healing comes about through reading the Bible and renewing our minds so that we think according to God’s ways. Romans 12:2 says, “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Philippians 4:8 tells us how we should think once our minds have been renewed: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” We can maintain our mental health by regular reading of the Bible and the reading Bible-based books. We highly recommend reading The Purpose Driven Life, by Rick Warren during the 40-day fast; there are 40 chapters that are designed to be read in 40 days.
Physical healing is an ongoing process that begins with changing our attitude toward food. We must begin eating right and exercising regularly if we are to maintain our physical health. Two books that can help with this process during and beyond the fast are: The RAVE Diet and Lifestyle, by Mike Anderson, and The Daniel Plan, by Rick Warren.
Family healing comes about when every member of the family is committed to God’s structure for the family as described in Ephesians 5:22 – Ephesians 6:20. It is a good idea to read this passage of Scripture with your spouse and children every day during the 40-day fast. To help your family get on the right track, get the book, Whyte House Family Devotions (VOLUME 1: January 1st-31st): How Your Family Can Start (or Restart) Having a Daily Devotional Time Together.
Sexual healing comes about when those who are not supposed to be having sex (the unmarried) stop having sex, and those who are supposed to be having sex (the married, and what we mean by married is between a man and a woman only) have more sex with the person they are married to (and no one else) — yes, even during the fast, and without the use of pills such as Cialis and Viagra. Because your health improves so much on the fast, married couples can have, at almost any age, the best sex they have ever had during the 40-day fast. And to really get sexual healing in the marriage, we challenge you to have sex each and every day during the 40-day fast. We don’t have to tell you; you know what to do. Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Also, homosexuals should repent of their lifestyle and pray and fast for deliverance from that abominable temptation and sin.
As Christians, we ought to commit to praying for the church to keep the main thing the main thing, and that is the preaching of the Gospel as Jesus Christ commissioned us to in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
We each ought to do our part by witnessing, passing out tracts, and encouraging new believers in the faith. We ought to love everybody we come in contact with and regard each person as worthy of the Gospel message simply because “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Finally, the most we can do is pray for all people — saints and sinners, friends and foreigners, presidents and paupers. We don’t have to like or agree with anyone in order to pray for them sincerely. In fact, that is what the Bible commands us to do. First Timothy 2:1-3 says, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.”
Have a great time of prayer and fasting throughout the next 40 days! We will be adding additional content to this article to help you along the way.
If there ever was a time to pray, that time is now!
Join Daniel Whyte III and the worldwide Gospel Light Society family on a 40-day Daniel Fast starting at 12:00 am on Thursday, January 10th, 2019.
1. The Get Back to Prayer Meeting Campaign Continues
We thank God for all of those who participated in the “Get Back to Prayer Meeting” Campaign by attending their church’s midweek prayer services. With what is happening in the world today, we are continuing and expanding the campaign in 2019 by encouraging everyone to continue going to the midweek prayer meeting and to attend any prayer meetings their church has.
2. “Pray Without Ceasing”
If you are not one of those blessed souls who has grown in the Lord in such a way that you pray spontaneously, prompted by the Holy Spirit, throughout the day, here is a way that you can learn to pray without ceasing throughout 2019: “The Lord’s Prayer” takes less than 60 seconds to pray. With that in mind, determine to pray every 15 minutes, every half hour, or every hour, and whenever the interval you choose rolls around, pray a short general prayer, pray for someone else (such as a missionary, pastor, co-worker, or family member), and read or quote a Bible verse.
3. Join Us on the Daniel Fast
If you are not going on a fast with your church, join us on the Daniel Fast for 40 days starting Thursday, January 10th at 12:00 am. The origin of the Daniel Fast is found in Daniel 1:8-14 and Daniel 10:2-3. Daniel 1:8-14 reads:
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king. Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse (vegetables) to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.
Many years later, Daniel wrote: “In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” The Daniel Fast includes abstaining from meat, dairy products, sweeteners, leavened bread, refined and processed food products, wine, and other beverages besides water.
