LET US PRAY! SEVEN PRAYERS YOU CAN PRAY AT NIGHT OR AT ANY TIME with DANIEL WHYTE III, PRESIDENT OF GOSPEL LIGHT SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL. PODCAST — LISTEN
1. THE LORD’S PRAYER
After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
2. THE COMMON PRAYER
Almighty and most merciful Father;
We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep.
We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
We have offended against thy holy laws.
We have left undone those things which we ought to have done;
And we have done those things which we ought not to have done;
And there is no health in us.
But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders.
Spare thou them, O God, which confess their faults.
Restore thou them that are penitent;
According to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake;
That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and sober life.
To the Glory of thy holy Name. Amen.
3. THE SERENITY PRAYER
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can, and
the wisdom to know the difference, living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
taking this world as it is and not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen.
4. THE LIFE PRAYER
God, prepare us for good days and bad days;
Prepare us for celebrations and tragedies;
Prepare us for weddings and funerals;
Prepare us for life and death;
In Jesus’ name, Amen
5. NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.
6. BEFORE YOU GO TO BED
Father, thank you for holding me together today.
I needed you, and you were there for me.
Thank you for every bit of love, mercy, and grace
that was shown to me though I did not deserve it.
Thank you for your faithfulness even in my suffering.
To you alone be the glory. Amen.
7. GENERAL PRAYER, OR YOUR PRAYER, OR YEA, THE PRAYER GOD GAVE YOU TO PRAY
