On Thursday, former NFL star Terrell Owens appeared on the Nation’s CUOMO to discuss the allegations and legal proceedings of the Florida “Karen” who filed a false police report against him.
When asked if he was happy that she was being prosecuted, he said, “Yeah, absolutely, because if the roles were reversed, obviously, they would be going to the full extent of the law to charge me.”
Owens, who recorded most of the interaction with the woman, stated that many people of color share the same perspective.
“When you mentioned that you’re shocked,” Owens said. “For us, it’s not shocking. This is something that goes on every day, and thankfully, now things are being exposed, obviously due to social media, obviously mobile devices that are able to capture these types of moments.”
However, he did acknowledged that his status as a member of the Hall of Fame attracted attention to his experience that perhaps wouldn’t be given to others in a similar situation.
