An Airbnb host has been removed from the home-sharing platform after threatening a Black doctor for leaving a four-star review.
Dr. Alex More, who was staying at a home listed in Vancouver, British Columbia, posted the frightening messages from the Airbnb host on Twitter.
“I have your picture, your name, and your number,” the host texted her in a threatening message. “You have 48 hours to remove your review, or I’m hiring a private investigator to obtain your address, and then the fun begins.”
In the interest of my own personal safety as well as public safety, @Airbnb @AirbnbHelp: Can you explain to me and everyone else why the host who sent me this message is still active on your platform? This person is clearly a threat and should not be allowed to host guests. pic.twitter.com/JJHA1mRwLQ

I left a 4/5 review with a positive message, and the host has contacted me at my personal number with increasingly threatening text because my review brought their average rating down from a 5 to a 4.95. pic.twitter.com/yx3xFFAT9h

According to Moore, the host was upset because she had left a review of 4/5, bringing their average rating down from a 5 to a 4.95.
Airbnb eventually removed the 1-bedroom and 1-bathroom listing by Brad, but Moore had to get law enforcement involved first.
