
The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall was canceled moments before it was set to begin on Friday and the crowd was ordered to leave. The rest of the day’s shows were also canceled.
The show had breakthrough COVID-19 cases among members of the production. At least some of the cases appeared to be among members of the orchestra.
The show features the Rockettes and is a holiday tradition in the city. Children and adults were seen crying outside the theater after realizing they were not going to get to see the show.
Many in the crowd were tourists who had traveled to New York City to see the show.
MSG Entertainment says plans for future shows are being assessed.
