The Browns are dealing with a serious COVID-19 outbreak.
Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield has tested positive for COVID-19, Adam Schefter reported Wednesday — a day after the team placed eight players on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Mayfield reportedly “feels completely normal” despite the positive result. Cleveland also announced Wednesday that head coach Kevin Stefanski tested positive for coronavirus. According to reports, the team is expecting more positive tests throughout the day.
Mayfield, per NFL health protocols, must submit two negative tests to return to the team. Backup Case Keenum is next in line to start Saturday’s game against the Raiders. Nick Mullens is the third-stringer.
