Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed Aariel Maynor is in custody after investigators traced him through security footage which captured his vehicle heading east out of Beverly Hills following the fatal burglary.
Police caught Maynor at the site of another home burglary in Hollywood Hills where he had shot himself in his foot with what is thought to be the same AR-15 he used to kill Avant.
New footage shows Maynor handcuffed to wheelchair with his bloody foot on display as he is being taken in to custody by police.

Maynor has an extensive criminal record dating back to 2013 and has served time for robbery and grand theft, TMZ reported.
Maynor was on parole at the time of the alleged homicide for a domestic violence case.
He was arrested by LAPD officers and taken to a hospital where he remains in custody.
Police say Maynor is currently their only suspect and his motive for the alleged homicide remains under investigation.
Maynor is set to be booked once he is medically cleared, police said.
