A 16-year-old boy shot behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz in Brooklyn has died, police said Wednesday.

Jaquan Gause was the most seriously wounded of three teens hit by gunfire inside a luxury black SUV stopped at a red light at Schenck and Atlantic Aves. in East New York about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 16.

“My kid was a fantastic child,” said Gause’s devastated mother, Kizzy Johnson, 35. “He was outgoing. He liked to dance. He danced all the time.”

After clinging to life for nearly a week, Gause died Sunday at Brookdale University Hospital after he was taken off life support, cops said. He lived in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The other victims, an 18-year-old man grazed in the left arm and a 19-year-old woman struck in the left thigh, were treated at the same hospital and are expected to recover.
