The heartbroken father of the 7-year-old girl found slain in her mother’s Bronx apartment on Thursday blasted the city for keeping his daughter from him.
Julius Batties, 37, wept as he told The Post the city’s Administration for Children’s Services had let him down by placing little Julissia with her mom — and ignoring his warnings that the child was in danger.
“They failed me,” the distraught dad said. “The ACS failed my child.”
The girl’s lifeless body, with evidence of trauma and old bruises, was discovered Tuesday morning inside mom Navasia Jones’ 10th-floor apartment at NYCHA’s Mitchel Houses.
Her 17-year-old half-brother later admitted during questioning that he had punched Julissia eight times in the face when their mother went to the store around 5 a.m. — though the blows were not what ultimately killed her, police sources have said.
Hours later, the girl started throwing up and passed out, prompting her mom to call 911. Julissia was rushed to Lincoln Hospital but could not be saved.
Neighbors, who reported seeing the girl with bruises, including a black eye, set up a memorial for her inside the building’s lobby — with a stuffed Minnie Mouse doll, flowers and three prayer candles.
