Former CEO of the Robin Hood Foundation, which focuses on fighting poverty in New York, Wes Moore, has announced his candidacy for governorship of the state of Maryland.
He focused his announcement on addressing the inequities in the state.
Moore said, not only can “some of the nation’s most prosperous communities,” “some of the best schools” be found in Maryland, but some of its most “impoverished” as well.
Other of his accomplishments include authoring the bestseller “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates,” and hosting “Beyond Belief” on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Maryland’s current governor, Larry Hogan, is term limited.
