Mother’s Day is just around the corner, with Americans forecast to spend approximately $28 billion on gifts for mom. Today’s report from Keys for Kids Ministries contains three ways kids can honor mom without breaking the bank.
“We wanted to help kids follow Ephesians 6:2, the one that says ‘Honor your father and mother: the first commandment with a promise,’” Dylan Kraayenbrink says.
Kraayenbrink, the Program Director at Keys for Kids Radio, a division of Keys for Kids Ministries, adds, “Being the new parent of a newborn as of six weeks ago, I’m finding out how hard it is to be a parent!”
First, kids between the ages of six and 12 can record a message for mom and play it online for millions to hear. “Starting this Thursday, we’re featuring songs from our Keys for Kids Radio artists that celebrate moms,” Kraayenbrink says.
“We’re also inviting kids to send us voice messages sharing why they love their moms and why they’re grateful for moms.”
Kids have between now and Sunday to upload their message here, he adds. “Kids can go to our website, tap on ‘Contact’ in the menu, [and] follow the directions there to send us their ‘mom appreciation’ messages,” Kraayenbrink explains.
“[Moms can] hear those messages from the kids on the air [during] our live stream.”
Moms don’t have to worry about their child’s safety or exposure with Keys for Kids Radio.
“Everything that we do is biblically-based. We strive to make it a place where parents trust what their kids are going to listen to, and not have to hover over them as you might with videos online,” Kraayenbrink says.
