Israeli Justice Minister Benny Gantz has called on the chiefs of big social media platforms to remove content from their sites that encourages violence or misinforms visitors to their sites ASAP.

Gantz, speaking through a spokesman, told Facebook and TikTok executives through Zoom that the current round of violence is being “intentionally stirred through social media by extremist elements” sworn to damage Israel.

The executives say they will act quickly to honor Gantz’s wishes.
