President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador says he will donate coronavirus vaccines to seven towns in Honduras. He sees a need, and even though his own country’s vaccination effort is still struggling, has chosen to do the humanitarian thing and help out.
Bukele, apparently touched by appeals for help from these seven towns in neighboring Honduras reached out to them. These towns claim their government has turned a deaf ear on them during this time.
El Salvador has administered about 1.25 million shots, not nearly enough for the country’s 6.5 million people.
