A SIX-year-old girl has died after battling Covid as officials said she was healthy with no underlying conditions.
Week Day, who was a first-grader from Minnesota, passed away on Sunday in hospital.
She was described as a “lively girl” who loved “singing songs and dancing” in an obituary.
“She brought both immeasurable love and joy to her family, friends, and community,” the tribute read, while stressing the “big impact” that she made in her life.
The little girl immigrated to the state from a refugee camp in Thailand when she was just one year old.
She is survived by her parents, Mu Mu and He Lars, and little brother Michael.
Following the tragic news, the Minnesota Department of Health said they were “deeply saddened” by the loss.
“While COVID-related deaths in children are rare, they can occur even in otherwise healthy children,” a statement said.
