A third name is now contending for the Dallas Cowboys’ vacant defensive coordinator position.

Former Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn is scheduled to meet with the Cowboys for a formal interview Monday, a source told The Dallas Morning News. ESPN and NFL Network first reported discussions between the two sides.

Sources have told The Dallas Morning News’ Michael Gehlken that Dallas has considered Quinn a potential replacement for Mike Nolan for at least a month.

The Quinn development comes a day after Cowboys officials interviewed Joe Whitt Jr. and Jason Simmons for the position, as The News’ Calvin Watkins reported. Those interviews were conducted virtually.
