Actor Anthony Hopkins, 83, has shared the moment he received the COVID-19 vaccination after a year of ‘self-imposed quarantine.’
The Silence Of The Lambs actor wore a face shield and mask as he got vaccinated from inside his car at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.
Hopkins called the moment the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ as he posted video of the injection to his Twitter account on Friday.
The video begins with Hopkins sitting in the passenger seat of his car, as a healthcare worker begins the injection process.
‘Here we go,’ she says, before inserting the needle into his upper arm.

‘Thank you,’ Hopkins tells her.
‘You okay? You didn’t pass out on me, right?’ she asks jokingly.
‘No!’ Hopkins replies.
Hopkins was effusive in his gratitude for the healthcare system as he posted the video to his Twitter account.
‘THANK YOU (prayer hands emoji) PublicHealth.LA.Gov, CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, and my dear friend, Dr. Maria Teresa Ochoa,’ he wrote. ‘Light at the end of the tunnel (after one year of self imposed quarantine).’
In California, where Hopkins was vaccinated, there have been a total of over 3 million coronavirus cases and 38,961 deaths.
Since entering his self-imposed quarantine, Hopkins has been entertaining Twitter followers with silly videos of himself on the brink of losing it as he counts down the days until the end of the pandemic.

In November, he shared a video of himself manically laughing as he endured yet another day in isolation.
‘Day 253 in quarantine… I’m beginning to feel it’s side effects. What do you think?’ he asked.
The actor shared yet another video of himself cracking under quarantine as he painted away on his canvas over the summer.
‘174 days in quarantine. And on to 175 days in quarantine. And tomorrow. And tomorrow. And tomorrow,’ he repeated, before eliciting a creepy chuckle.
‘Maybe not so sane,’ he joked in the tweet.
