This year has not been easy for believers in Egypt. Churches are closed and gatherings are limited; these are normally lifelines for the Egyptian Christian minority.
Joe Willey with SAT-7 USA says, “It weighs heavily on believers. There’s also the economic instability and also the political uncertainty that many face every day.”
That’s why SAT-7 ARABIC – a satellite broadcast ministry to the Middle East and North Africa – recently hosted an event called Nehemiah’s Project. It was a three-day online conference for the Evangelical Church in Egypt to gather in worship and prayer.
“They prayed for numerous things,” Willey says. “[They prayed] for healing and safety from the COVID[-19] pandemic. They prayed for economic stability in the Middle East and North Africa. They also prayed for God’s protection for believers and their families.”
