Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #714.
My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.
First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.
The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the global death toll attributed to the novel coronavirus hit 1,784,379 early Tuesday. In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 81,767,775 people worldwide.
Second, today, under the Sign category of EARTHQUAKES IN DIVERS PLACES — According to The Associated Press, A strong earthquake in Croatia destroyed buildings and killed at least seven people Tuesday southwest of the capital, displacing scores of area residents or making them afraid to sleep indoors as emergency teams searched for those still missing by nightfall. The European Mediterranean Seismological Center said the magnitude 6.3 quake hit 28 miles southeast of Zagreb [ZAH-GREB] just before 12:20 p.m. local time. It caused widespread damage in the hardest-hit town of Petrinja [PEH-TRIN-YAH]. The same area was struck by a magnitude 5.2 quake on Monday. At least 26 people were hospitalized, six with serious injuries, officials said, adding that many more people remained unaccounted for.
Third, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to The Sun, super gonorrhoea is on the rise as the highly infectious and drug-resistant bug may become untreatable in a perfect storm caused by the coronavirus. World Health Organisation medics warned the sexually transmitted infection may become even more resistant to antibiotics as an overuse of them during the pandemic is fuelling its mutation. The super strain of one of the world’s oldest sexually transmitted infection has been given the ideal environment to thrive as the world continues to fight against coronavirus. Untreated, super gonorrhoea can lead to a five-fold increase of HIV transmission and eye infections that may lead to blindness. There are more than 90 million cases of gonorrhoea worldwide each year, and this number is growing by 17%. Although WHO reports the majority of cases to be in the African region, the western world is seeing cases grow at an alarming rate.
Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.
Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.
Our topic for today is titled “Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 9: The Believer’s Crowns, Part 4” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”
The crown of life. James 1:12 and Revelation 2:10 indicate that there is a special crown for Christians who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake. It is sometimes called the martyr’s crown, for it goes to those who have been cruelly killed because of their testimony and service for the Master.
God in His sovereignty has chosen to allow the persecution or even martyrdom of some Christians during this church age. He expects people to call on Him by faith in the teaching of His Word rather than by miracles and signs (such as were practiced during the first century, before the Bible was completed). The unjust persecution of fellow believers seems unfair to us, but we can be sure of this: All martyrs will be adequately compensated in the life to come.
Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.
In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 14). J.C. Ryle writes:
I cannot pass away from this part of my subject without entreating all who read this address to learn a practical lesson from the scattering of Israel. I entreat you to remember the causes which led to their dispersion, and to beware of the slightest approach to their peculiar sins. I am sure the warning is needed in these latter days. I am sure that the opinions which are boldly broached and openly maintained by many religious teachers in all Churches of Christendom call loudly on all Christians to stand on their guard. It is not without good reason that our Lord said, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Sadducees and Pharisees.” Look to your own heart. Beware of tampering with false doctrines. Churches are never safe unless their members know their individual resonsibility. Let us each look to ourselves, and take heed to our own souls. The same God lives who scattered Israel because of Israel’s sins. And what says He to the Churches of Christ this day? He says, “Be not high-minded, but fear. If God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee.”
If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.
Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.
Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
