PODCAST: Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 3 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #708 with Daniel Whyte III)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #708.

My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the global death toll attributed to the novel coronavirus hit 1,335,211 early Tuesday. In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 55,472,374 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to BBC News, President Donald Trump reportedly asked senior advisers last Thursday about potential options for attacking Iran’s main nuclear site. The advisers warned him that military action could spark a broader conflict. The White House has not commented on the accounts of the meeting. It took place a day after the global nuclear watchdog said Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile was 12 times what was permitted under a 2015 nuclear deal. US officials familiar with the meeting said the president had asked to be briefed about the options for a strike on Iran’s main nuclear site. The advisers argued that military action could lead to a broader conflict in the region in the last weeks of his presidency. Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei [RAY-BEE] warned on Tuesday “any action against the Iranian nation would certainly face a crushing response”.

Third, today, under the Sign category of ARAB HOSTILITY TOWARD ISRAEL — According to the Jerusalem Post, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said over the weekend that Pakistan faced pressure from another country to establish diplomatic ties with Israel. He said in a local television interview, “I have no second thoughts about [not] recognizing Israel unless there is a just settlement that satisfies Palestinians.” He refused to name the country or countries that have been pressuring him, saying: “There are things we cannot say. We have good relations with them.” Khan’s comments come after the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain normalized ties with Israel in recent months. Pakistan has strong economic ties with Gulf states such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which has been warming to Israel in recent years.

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 3: Significance of Good Works, Part 1” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

What exactly is a good work? A good work is anything a Christian does for Jesus Christ, such as witnessing, worshiping, being generous, and the like. Jesus made it clear that nothing is too small to be considered a good work. Matthew 10:42 reveals that even giving a cup of cold water to a child would result in divine compensation. Good works performed with impure motives, however, will not be rewarded.

When it comes to good works, as 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 indicates the foundation of Jesus Christ must first be in place. This means that no one can accumulate good works until he has accepted salvation through Christ. Once that occurs, a person can build on that foundation with works represented by “gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw.” These works will be tested by fire. The metals and precious stones represent good works performed with right motives. They will survive the test of fire and be rewarded. The wood, hay, and straw represent bad works and will not survive the test. These include good works performed with bad motives, a hidden agenda, or unconfessed sin in one’s life.

Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.

Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 8). J.C. Ryle writes:

Accept a friendly exhortation this day. Cleave to the literal sense of Bible words, and beware of departing from it, except in cases of absolute necessity. Beware of that system of allegorizing, and spiritualizing, and accommodating, which the school of Origen first brought in, and which has found such an unfortunate degree of favour in the Church. In reading the authorized version of the English Bible, do not put too much confidence in the “headings” of pages and “tables of contents” at beginnings of chapters, which I take leave to consider a most unhappy accompaniment of that admirable translation. Remember that those headings and tables of contents were drawn up by uninspired hands. In reading the Prophets, they are sometimes not helps, but real hindrances, and less likely to assist a reader than to lead him astray. Settle it in your mind, in reading the Psalms and Prophets that Israel means Israel, and Zion Zion, and Jerusalem Jerusalem. And, finally, whatever edification you derive from applying to your own soul the words which God addresses to His ancient people, never lose sight of the primary sense of the text.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
