Welcome to the How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #126. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International.
Amos 5:14-15 says, “Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.”
The Bible Knowledge Commentary says, “The possibility still existed, however, for individuals to separate themselves from their guilty nation. If people would seek good, not evil, they might yet live. If they would go counter to the prevailing corruption—if they would hate evil instead of hating the righteous, if they would maintain justice in the courts instead of trampling it—then the Lord God Almighty, the great suzerain Warrior would be their Defender instead of their Judge. He would indeed be with them, just as they were claiming He was. “The Lord is with us” was Israel’s ancient shout of assurance that their powerful God would fight for them in battle and defend them in adversity. But in the time of Jeroboam II this shout had become an empty slogan. Their assurance, Amos insisted, was a delusion. God was no longer “with them.” The guilty nation had been abandoned. Their external prosperity was misleading; it had bred a false security. In reality, there would be only a brief respite before their Sovereign would sweep them away in judgment. If a handful, however, would turn and passionately seek the Lord, perhaps the great Suzerain would have mercy on that small repentant remnant of the Northern Kingdom, here called Joseph.”
Leonard Ravenhill said, “Oh! my ministering brethren! Much of our praying is but giving God advice! Our praying is discolored with ambition, either for ourselves or for our denomination. Perish the thought! Our goal must be God alone. It is His honor that is sullied, His blessed Son who is ignored, His laws broken, His name profaned, His Book forgotten, His house made a circus of social efforts.”

Robinson Curriculum Review from thehomeschoolmom.com
Created by Dr. Art Robinson to homeschool his children after the death of his wife, the Robinson Curriculum is known for allowing children to self-teach. Children using this curriculum are able to advance at their own rate through learning of skills and facts whether or not their parents have this knowledge – and to do so on their own without an active teacher. The curriculum is based on the development of good habits, choosing the best course of study, using high quality books, and creating the best study environment.
The Freedom of Flexible Learning, Part 4
How can I create a flexible learning environment for my student?
1. Organize your day as it makes sense: If you and your child are sharpest in the morning, concentrate on academics at that time of day. If you find they have trouble getting started in the morning, plan more relaxed learning activities for the morning and focus on academics in the afternoon. Spending more time on homeschooling at the optimal time of day is an easy way to set kids up for success.
2. Set your own pace. Skim over topics you already have experience with, and spend as much time as you need on topics that are challenging or unfamiliar. If you get excited about something, dig deep and enjoy! Take your time when that feels right. You are the captain of this ship.
3. Get up and move around! If you’ve been sitting and focusing on academics for a while and your child starts to feel antsy, put down your work, and go outside for some fresh air and exercise. Take a local outdoors field trip to break the monotony.
Now, if you are with us today and you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Him for Salvation from sin and Hell.
First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.
But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.
The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.
Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at any time. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.
Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.
And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.
The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Dear friend, if you are willing to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.
If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help you grow in your newfound faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light Society.com and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
