Trevor Lawrence, entering his third season as quarterback of the Clemson Tigers, has a busy future ahead of him.
Outside of trying to win his second national title in three years this upcoming season, he’s also in contention for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft and a Heisman Trophy candidate. This offseason, he’s put on his activist cap and helped organize and lead “Black Lives Matter” protests on his campus.
Now, he can add a wedding to the list of responsibilities. Lawrence dropped to one knee Friday on the field at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Marissa Mowry, who announced the engagement on Instagram.
“Easiest YES of my life!!!” Mowry wrote in the caption. “I love you always Trevor.”
Both Mowry and Lawrence graduated from Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. Mowry, 21, is an athlete herself. A soccer player at Anderson University in South Carolina, she started all of the Trojans’ 16 games last season.
