How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #89 with Daniel Whyte III

Welcome to the How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #89. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International.

Exodus 32:35 said, “And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.”

Matthew Henry said, “The Lord plagued the people, probably by the pestilence, or some other infectious disease, which was a messenger of God’s wrath, and an earnest of worse. Aaron made the calf, and yet it is said the people made it, because they worshipped it. Aaron was not plagued, but the people; for his was a sin of infirmity, theirs a presumptuous sin, between which there is a great difference, not always discernible to us, but evident to God, whose judgment therefore, we are sure, is according to truth. Thus Moses prevailed for a reprieve and a mitigation of the punishment, but could not wholly turn away the wrath of God. This (some think) bespeaks the inability of the law of Moses to reconcile men to God and to perfect our peace with him, which was reserved for Christ to do, in whom alone it is that God so pardons sin as to remember it no more.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Revelation 2:4-5 says, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

Leonard Ravenhill said, “There are two kinds of people in the world—only two kinds. Not black or white, rich or poor, but those either dead in sin or dead to sin.”

Galatians 6:4 says, “But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.”

QUESTION: Charles in Nebraska works for his parents, and they’ve been in business 30 years. Charles has been in business with them for 16 years. Now, they’re in their 60s, and Charles feels he needs to have a conversation with them about beginning to transition the business. How does he start that conversation?

The transition ought to be so gradual and steady that your team—the day you are named president and owner—doesn’t have an emotional ripple. You have to talk to him about that. Talk about it as a way of making sure that his hard work survives him. Then you’ve got to be very careful so long as he lives to honor him through the business.

The son or daughter taking over has to learn to survive the brilliance of the business founder. Most of us founders have a brilliance. It’s not systematized, and it’s not a process. We fly by the seat of our pants. We make great decisions. That can only take a business so far, and it will not transition it. The business will die if you don’t begin the transition prior to death. If he can’t do that, then threaten him with you not sticking around to watch it die. You can be diplomatic about it.

I’m 50, my kids are in their 20s, and I’ve already started. I’ve already started training them, talking about it, thinking about it, and I figure it’s 20 years before one of them is completely in the saddle—maybe 15. I’ll be here until I die, spreading hate and dissension, but one of them will be running it.

First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.

But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.

The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.

Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at anytime. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.

Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.

And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!
