How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #86 with Daniel Whyte III

THERE IS MORE SAID IN THE PODCAST AUDIO THAN IN THE NOTES BELOW

Welcome to the How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #86. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International.

Deuteronomy 28:59-61 said, “Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.”

Thomas Constable said, “The fifth view shows Israel deprived of all the benefits she had formerly enjoyed. This section deals with disease and disasters in the land and deportation from the land. Both parts picture a reversal of Exodus blessings. In the later history of Israel the punishments God predicted here took place very literally when the people disobeyed His law. It happened in the Assyrian and Babylonian captivities as well as in the Roman destruction of Jerusalem and Israel in A.D70. They have taken place in the Middle Ages, the Russian pogroms, Nazi Germany, and the present day. God designed these blessings and curses to persuade His people to obey His covenant with them. Stronger proof of the blessing of obedience and the blasting of disobedience is hardly imaginable. God’s will was very clear and simple: obey His Word. ”

REPENT!

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Revelation 2:4-5 says, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

Leonard Ravenhill said, “A man may study because his brain is hungry for knowledge, even Bible knowledge. But he prays because his soul is hungry for God.”

NEWS

According to CNN, the span of a week and a half, the number of coronavirus cases in the United States has doubled, yet officials are saying this is still the first wave of the pandemic. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said, “We are still knee-deep in the first wave of this. This was a surge, or a resurgence of infections superimposed upon a baseline that really never got down to where we wanted to go.”

According to the San Antonio Express News, Calvary Chapel in Universal City, Texas, has closed down again after more than 50 staff and parishioners, including the pastor and his wife, have tested positive for COVID-19, an eruption the pastor blames on his loosening of a rule against hugging last month.

According to the West Virginia Metro News, Two of the most recent deaths in West Virginia from the coronavirus pandemic stem from an outbreak at Graystone Baptist Church in Lewisburg. Gov. Jim Justice said the deaths of an 89-year-old female and an 84-year-old woman bring the statewide death total from the coronavirus to 95.

According to MSN, The pandemic map of the United States burned bright red Monday, with the number of new coronavirus infections during the first six days of July nearing 300,000 as more states and cities moved to reimpose shutdown orders.

According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Several large Church of God congregations in Cleveland, Tennessee, are re-closing their doors because of an outbreak of COVID-19 infections that hit members after in-person services and a large revival event. In a series of posts in the past week on the Westmore Church of God Facebook page, lead pastor of the church Kelvin Page reported one, then five and then at least 12 cases of COVID-19 in his congregation. In the days since, people connected to the church said the outbreak is two or three times that number.

Tony Evans said, “If we could do with God what we have done with the virus — center on him — our lives and our families and our churches and our culture would be a much better place.”

HOME SCHOOL

Ecclesiastes 7:12 says, “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”

Rebbecca Devitt gave these five reasons for homeschooling.

1. A home learning environment will generally have far less peer pressure compared to schools.

2. Parents can spend more time guiding their children in moral issues. Not surprisingly, parents usually give their children better examples than their peers.

3. Homeschoolers become adept at interacting with a wide variety of age groups as they generally spend more time in the community with people of different ages. They also might have large families that allow children to interact with older or younger siblings.

4. When children homeschool, they find more opportunities to interact with the community. This allows them to have more input into the community practically. For example, they have time to help their elderly neighbors with their lawn or look out for others on their street who may be experiencing difficulties. As a Christian, there’s also plenty of good opportunities to share the hope you have in Jesus.

5. Sometimes a good reason to homeschool is to get away from all the deleterious influences in school, like the exposure to exposure to drugs. In 2014, 7% of American youths aged 12-13 took an illicit substance – homeschooling, while not being able to completely avoid these influences can assuage them significantly.

___________

First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.

But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.

The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.

Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at anytime. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.

Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.

And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help you grow in your newfound faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light Society.com and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
