Leviticus 26:21 says, “And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.”

Thomas Constable said, “Moses revealed five levels or waves of punishment. If Israel did not turn back to God after the first penalties, God would bring the second on them, and so on. The second stage of barren land might follow. The third stage would be divine extermination of their cattle and children (two curses). The fourth stage would be war, plagues, and famine (three curses). The fifth stage would be the destruction of the Israelites” families, idolatrous practices and places, land, and nation through dispersion (four curses). In her history in the land Israel experienced all of these curses because she eventually despised the Mosaic Law. The record of this failure is not consistent. There were periods of revival and consequent blessing. Nevertheless the general course of the nation proceeded downward.”

REPENT!

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Revelation 2:4-5 says, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

Leonard Ravenhill said, ‘“No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. The pulpit can be a shopwindow to display one’s talents; the prayer closet allows no showing off.”

NEWS

According to the Wall Street Journal A surge in coronavirus cases in parts of the U.S. has prompted several states and locales to pause or roll back reopening as some hospital systems began groaning under the strain. Nearly 39,000 coronavirus cases were recorded nationwide Sunday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

According to the AP Arizona health officials reported 3,858 more confirmed coronavirus cases Sunday, the most reported in a single day in the state so far and the seventh time in the past 10 days that daily cases surpassed the 3,000 mark. Since the pandemic began, 74,500 cases and 1,588 deaths stemming from the virus have been reported in Arizona. Gov. Ducey said “Our expectation is that our numbers next week will be worse.”

According to StudyFinds, asymptomatic coronavirus patients can not only infect others directly, but also contaminate the surrounding environment. 39.3% of tested surface samples were found to be positive for the coronavirus.

According to the Times of Israel, Doctors say half of ‘cured’ coronavirus patients still suffer. Recovered COVID patients are baffling doctors with complaints of freak pains, lungs that just won’t get back to normal, and a range of incapacitating psychological issues.“What we are seeing is very frightening,” Prof. Gabriel Izbicki of Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center said. “More than half the patients, weeks after testing negative, are still symptomatic.”

HOME BUSINESS

Proverbs 14:23 says, “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”

QUESTION: Rhett in Houston and his brother are involved in a family-owned business their father started. How do they keep the brilliance of the founder alive while allowing the second generation to make their own mark?

ANSWER: Your dad is going to kill the business except to the extent that he systematically, predictably hands it over to you two. The reason is your customer base knows he’s going to die, and your team members know he’s going to die—someday. I’m 51. Someday, I’m not going to be doing this radio show. So someday, you guys as my customer base—if you still want information, common-sense education and empowerment from our organization—you have to know that I’ve got a plan to cause that to happen. It gives my customer base confidence. It gives my team confidence that I have a transition plan today and that I have a transition plan if I stay here 20 years.

The second thing is 1) we admit that it’s hard emotionally, 2) we say that the thing’s going to die if he doesn’t do it. That’s true of all of our businesses. Then 3) he’s got to lay out some milestones for you guys—that says he begins to trust your competence and your integrity, which as we found in the delegation lesson is the secret to delegating. At these performance milestones—not age, but performance that indicates your maturity in business regardless of your age—he’s going to begin to turn loose this amount. He’s going to turn loose this amount. And the final release is he slips to the side and takes a position of honor. It doesn’t mean he can never come to the office, but he’s no longer in charge. And he can’t come in and spread hate and dissension anymore, which is what we founders do. We tend to walk through the place and just blow things up. He can’t do that anymore. He’s going to destroy the thing he loves if he does that. I’m not saying he does that. I’m saying all of us who are founders do that. We’ve got to systematically hand over.

One of the guys I was interviewing in family business had a great word picture for me. He said, “If you visualize an Olympic-level relay race, if you’ve ever seen them hand the baton off, they run so close and so in sync that when the baton leaves one hand and goes into the other, it’s so in sync, no one realized it happened.” It’s so smooth and so gradual and so predictable and so practiced and so communicated. And so should be a transition.

You guys are in your 30s, I assume. By the time you’re 40, this thing needs to be done because you can’t ask two sharp guys in their 30s to still be subordinates when they’re 60. That’s kind of stupid. It doesn’t work. And you’re going to want to go do something else if he won’t do it. He needs to develop this gradual process to where the team and the customer base—when the transition occurs and one of you becomes the CEO—they all say, “Oh, he’s a CEO? Gosh, I thought he already was,” because everybody’s been leaning more and more and more on you and less and less and less on him to where a gradual, gentle transition happened. If he doesn’t do that, he’ll be a typical founder and he’ll kill his own business.

___________

First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.

But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.

The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.

Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at anytime. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.

Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.

And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help you grow in your newfound faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light Society.com and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

If you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior today, please email me at [email protected] and let us know. There is some free material that we want to send you. If you have a prayer request, please e-mail that to us as well, and we will pray for you until you tell us to stop.

God loves you. We love you. And may God bless you.
