How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #73 with Daniel Whyte III

Welcome to the How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #73. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International.

Deuteronomy 29:22-24 says, “So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it; And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath: Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?”

The Evangelical Commentary on the Bible says, “Serious penalties are in store for hypocrisy and rebellion. The root that produces bitter poison is the heart which turns away from the Lord to serve idols. Sin does its work imperceptibly. A professing believer may take the oath and boast that he is safe even though he persists in going his own way. Such hypocrisy can only bring the wrath of God and the curses of the covenant on the individual and on the rest of the covenant community. The root of hypocrisy will produce a bitter poison in later generations to come. The calamities warned against in the curses will be viewed by posterity and by foreigners as acts of Yahweh’s wrath on Israel. They will recognize and proclaim that these calamities have come upon Israel because they abandoned the covenant and worshiped other gods.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Revelation 2:4-5 says, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

Leonard Ravenhill said, “Yet it is strangely true that we can get more ‘‘apparent’’ concern for people across the world than for our perishing neighbors across the street! With all our mass-evangelism, souls are won only in hundreds. Let an atom bomb come and they will fall by the thousands into hell.”

Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

QUESTION: Brad in Iowa says his dad started a plastics company 25 years ago with his brother. Brad started working there five years ago. He’d like to start learning how to transition this business to the next generation. Dave advises Brad that the number- one thing they need to make sure they have is communication.

ANSWER: The number-one key to family business successfully transitioning to the next generation is tons and tons and tons of open communication. I’ve studied family businesses that have successfully transitioned. They often do it, but it has everything to do with tons of open communication—two-way communication, by the way. You’ve got to be willing to hear that you aren’t getting the business anytime soon, and they’ve got to be willing to hear they’re going to die someday. I think you call a meeting with the two of them and say you’re trying to plan your long-term career and would like to run this business and own this business someday when they aren’t here. Ask if that’s their vision and if they want you to. If they don’t want you to, you don’t want to invest the next 20 years of your life there. You’ve got to do your job today with excellence to ever hope to be an owner, and for that matter to continue to get to work here whether you’re family or not. You’ve got to perform. Those kinds of things are laid out there. You don’t get a pass on stupidity because you’re family. You’ve still got to get your work done. As a matter of fact, you’ve got to work twice as hard if you’re family to be respected by the rest of the team, because they figure automatically you’re a slacker.

First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.

But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.

The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.

Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at anytime. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.

Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.

And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help you grow in your newfound faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
