THERE IS MORE SAID IN THE PODCAST AUDIO THAN IN THE NOTES BELOW
Welcome to the How to Stay and Survive the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #52. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International.
Numbers 25:8-9 says “And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel. And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.”
David Guzik said, “Phinehas was one among those in Israel who would not accept this wholesale rebellion against God. He brought God’s judgment by thrusting through an Israelite man and a Midianite woman with a spear – seemingly, as they were in the midst of immorality. Some scholars believe this man was having sex with the Midianite woman right in front of the tabernacle, and the text deliberately obscures this, because it is so offensive. Phinehas was probably not the only one to make such a stand for righteousness. But his was the singular act that stopped the plague. We may think our particular stand for righteousness makes no difference in the awesome tide of sin around us; but God can honor just one righteous act and cause it to make the difference. Twenty-four thousand died in the plague. This must have delighted Balak, king of Moab. He knew that Balaam succeeded in cursing Israel – or, rather, in getting them to curse themselves.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Revelation 2:4-5 says, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”
Leonard Ravenhill said, “When the hammer of logic and the fire of human zeal fail to open the stony heart, unction will succeed.”

Here is what economic analyst Jesse Colombo, who has been engaged in prepping and stockpiling supplies since the 2008 financial crisis, says about getting through the coronavirus pandemic.
He bought 50 gallons of water. “The recommended amount of water is to put aside one gallon per person for three days. I decided to go ahead and get enough water for three weeks. Water doesn’t really go bad. If we don’t use it, we will finish it throughout the year.”
Colombo recommends the Berkey water filter, which will cost at least $250. “They can filter thousands of gallons worth of water and last you years,” he said.
Ambyr Davis Greer gave the following benefits of living in an RV during the coronavirus:
RV travel is by far and away the safest mode of transportation available to us during this dangerous time.
You can pay at the pump of a gas station without ever coming in contact with another human being.
You can be off the grid, away from overpopulated areas, in no time flat.
You have your own sterile bathroom.
You can store and cook your own food safely.
You don’t have to worry about whether a hotel room is disinfected properly.
You don’t have to worry about cancelled flights, recirculated cabin area or other pesky logistics of commercial air travel.
In short, owning an RV has become something of a life saver for me. I can travel without risking the health and safety of my family.
You can buy off-grid housing from Rural Vacant Land.com. RVL features thousands of listings of houses that can be provided with off-grid water and septic systems as well as off-grid energy through solar panels.
You can buy a mini house from Wind River Tiny Homes.com. You can buy one of their prefabricated models or have them build your own design. Wind River pioneers tiny homes that are custom, sustainable, and of the utmost quality.
Scott LaPierre said, “With our children growing up in Christian homes and churches they learn so much Scripture, but how does this benefit them if it isn’t affecting their day-to-day lives? If it isn’t affecting their relationships and decision-making? Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Is this addressing the public school system, the government, or even churches? It’s clearly speaking to parents. Ephesians 6:4 says, “Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” This verse is interesting because understandably with fathers working, mothers perform most of the teaching; therefore, how do we obey this verse? While mothers might deal with much of the day-to-day academics, it seems much of the spiritual training and admonition rests on the father’s shoulders. Fathers can never sit back and say:
Well, my wife has it under control.
Their mother will handle the teaching.
Whatever my kids need to learn, they can learn it from Mommy.
I’m too busy working to worry about teaching my children.
Whether fathers have to get up earlier or clear the table as soon as dinner is over we need to make sure we gather our families around the Word of God. Consider what God said about Abraham in Genesis 18:19, “I have chosen him, that he may direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.” This is exactly what God could say to every father: He has chosen us as fathers. He wants us to direct our children and our households that we may keep them in the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice.
Now, if you are with us today and you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Him for Salvation from sin and Hell.
First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.
But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.
The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.
Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at anytime. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.
Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.
And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.
The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.
If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!
