Long walks, treats on tap and their beloved owners at home all day, every day… dogs have loved lockdown.

But it hasn’t necessarily loved them. With groomers closed because of the pandemic, their once perfectly coiffed coats have become a dog’s dinner.

Although hairdressers may still be closed, grooming parlours are starting to throw open their doors again to tend our four-legged friends.

Lexi had a full groom and dematting treatment to reveal her long and pretty eyelashes. She also left the groomers in a floral necktie

And just like the expected stampede when hairdressers open in July, there has been a mad rush for dog owners to get their pooches in for an overdue pampering session, too.

When Pets at Home reopened its puppy parlours last week it said it had 45,000 dogs on the waiting list. And what a difference it makes!
