Welcome to the How to Stay the Coronavirus Plague Briefing Podcast #22. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International.
Psalms 106:29-30 says, “Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them. Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.”
Matthew Henry said, “Thus they provoked God to anger with their inventions, in contempt of him and his institutions, his commands, and his threatenings. The iniquity of Peor was so great that, long after, it is said, They were not cleansed from it. God testified his displeasure at this, By sending a plague among them, which in a little time swept away 24,000 of those impudent sinners. By stirring up Phinehas to use his power as a magistrate for the suppressing of the sin and checking the contagion of it. He stood up in his zeal for the Lord of hosts, and executed judgment upon Zimri and Cozbi, sinners of the first rank, genteel sinners; he put the law in execution upon them, and this was a service so pleasing to God that upon it the plague was stayed. By this, and some other similar acts of public justice on that occasion, the guilt ceased to be national, and the general controversy was let fall. When the proper officers did their duty God left it to them, and did not any longer keep the work in his own hands by the plague. Note, National justice prevents national judgments.”
Leonard Ravenhill said, “Is the world crucified to you or does it fascinate you?”
According to ABC News, worldwide, more than 2 million people have been diagnosed with coronavirus since the virus emerged in China in December. The actual numbers are believed to be much higher due to testing shortages, many unreported cases and suspicions that some governments are hiding the scope of their nations’ outbreaks.
According to Bloomberg, Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari said without an effective therapy or a vaccine for the novel coronavirus, the U.S. economy could face 18 months of rolling shutdowns as the outbreak recedes and flares up again. “We’re looking around the world. As they relax the economic controls, the virus flares back up again.”
According to multiple news, The death toll from the new coronavirus in New York state – the US epicentre of the deadly pandemic – has passed 10,000, with 671 people dying in the past 24 hours.
According to Hill All 50 states are under a major disaster declaration for the first time in U.S. history, after President Trump approved Wyoming’s declaration Saturday.
According to the AP, Thousands of people have lined up for hours at emergency food banks across the US as unemployment skyrockets amid pandemic.
Ephesians 5:28 says, “So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”
Thomas Constable said, “This verse and the following two verses apply the truth just stated in Ephesians 5:25-27. Since in marriage two people become one flesh, in a figurative sense a man”s wife becomes part of his own body. Consequently the husband should love and treat her as he does his own body. As he does not think about loving himself because it is natural, so also, should the husband”s love of his wife be something that is as natural as loving himself.”
Now, if you are with us today and you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Him for Salvation from sin and Hell.
First, please understand that you are a sinner and that you have broken God’s laws. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Please understand that because of your sins, you deserve punishment in hell. Romans 6:23 says “the wages of sin is death…” This is both physical death and spiritual death in hell.
But here is the good news. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The phrase “For God so loved the world” means that if you are in this world, God loves you no matter what you have done.
The next phrase, “that He gave His only begotten Son” refers to Jesus Christ. He is God’s son who suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins and for mine, and He was buried and rose again.
Our next phrase is “that whosoever believeth in Him”. The word “whosoever” means anybody at anytime. The phrase “believeth in Him” means to trust in Him, to depend upon Him, to rely on Him, or to have faith in Him for your salvation.
Our next phrase, “should not perish”, refers to eternal punishment in a place called hell.
And, lastly, the phrase “but have everlasting life” means to live eternally in Heaven with God.
The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.
If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!
