An old school friend of Patrick Mahomes amazingly predicted in 2014 that the quarterback would win the Super Bowl, and he was proved right after the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory last night in Miami.

Spencer Shaw, who is now a Preaching Minister at a church in Oklahoma, posted a tweet of his prediction from Mahomes’ high school year book, and it’s gone viral with over 2,000 retweets.

It was in Mahomes’ senior year at Whitehouse High School in Texas. When answering the question ‘What are you looking forward to most about your class reunion?’, Shaw said: ‘Seeing Patrick Mahomes’ super bowl ring.’

Quarterback Mahomes inspired the Chiefs to a fourth-quarter comeback against the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LIV on Sunday.

Trailing 20-10 with under eight minutes remaining, Mahomes led the offence to three unanswered touchdowns to turn the game completely on its head.

The 24-year-old was named MVP after the game and it caps a meteoric rise for the former Whitehouse student, winning a Super Bowl ring in his third season in the NFL.

He burst onto the scene last season when he passed for 50 touchdowns in a year where he was named NFL MVP.

Before that, he was drafted in the first round by the Chiefs in 2017 after an impressive three years at Texas Tech college.

While at Whitehouse, he played baseball and basketball too before he opted to go down the route of football.

Mahomes also met his long-term girlfriend, Brittany Matthews, at high school.
