Sports Reporter Carley McCord is Laid to Rest a Week after Tragic Plane Crash in Louisiana

Carley McCord

Loved ones gathered to say goodbye to Louisiana sports reporter Carley McCord in a private funeral service — one week after she died in a fiery plane crash in Lafayette.

The 30-year-old was remembered for her “goofy laugh” and loving “fiercely” Saturday at St. Jean Vianney Church in Baton Rouge, the Lafayette Daily Advertiser reported.

“I’m gonna miss her silly laugh,” her sister Kaleigh Pederson said. “I’m going to miss her showing up randomly at my house. I’m going to miss her sporadic stuff and that goofy laugh and her loving my kids.”

She said the broadcaster loved to make others laugh and had a “great love” with husband Steven Ensminger Jr.
