Antonio Brown Locks Himself in His Florida Home After Cops Said They Wanted to Speak to Him About Assault on Truck Driver, as Troubled NFL Star’s Ex-Girlfriend Says He ‘Needs Mental Health Treatment’

Florida authorities say that embattled NFL free agent Antonio Brown has ‘locked himself in’ his Hollywood, Florida, home following reports he would be charged with battery – as the athlete’s ex girlfriend shares her concerns over his mental health.

Christian Lata, the public information officer for the Hollywood Police Department, explained to USA Today that police have made many unsuccessful attempts to reach Brown.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers star did take to his Twitter to offer his own thoughts on the reports that he and his trainer were wanted for battery and burglary.

‘They want my name slandered,’ Brown said in a Wednesday morning tweet.

But the mother of Brown’s children, Chelsie Kyriss, felt that the latest incident were signs of his ‘desperate’ need of ‘mental health treatment’.

‘Over the last few years I have stood at the side of my children’s father Antonio Brown and watched the rise and fall of an incredible man and athlete,’ Kyriss shared in an Instagram post.

‘Our children and I have distanced ourselves from him and our former home. Although we have parted ways I wish nothing but the best for him.

‘Unfortunately, it seems Antonio has made questionable choices and continues to ignore the advice of those who love and support him. At this point the boys and I are working on building a new life free from any impulsive, reckless and unhealthy behaviors.

‘My hope is that Anotonio will get help and seek the mental health treatment that he so desperately needs so that he can be the father all of his children need and deserve.’

Officers arrived at the former Pittsburgh Steelers star’s mansion on Tuesday afternoon, but did not immediately place him under arrest or charge him with any crime.
