Dallas Baptist University Campus Evacuated, Classes Canceled After Bomb Threat

Dallas Baptist University was evacuated Tuesday after a bomb threat was called in to campus police.

Blake Killingsworth, the university’s vice president for communications, said Dallas police’s SWAT team and the FBI were notified about the threat to the campus, located in the Mountain Creek area of southwest Dallas.

Live helicopter video from KXAS-TV (NBC5) showed the heavy police presence at the campus.

Law enforcement is still evaluating whether the threat is credible, Killingsworth said.

The university tweeted about 1 p.m. that anyone on campus needed to evacuate after the school received “a threat against our campus.”

Anyone who could not leave campus was told to move to the Burg Center, an athletics building.

Classes were canceled for the day.
