With the Increased Popularity of Chick-fil-a, Oxford University Scientists Now Claim Eating Chicken Is Linked to Higher Cancer Risk

According to new research, eating chicken brings consumers a greater risk of certain types of cancer.

According to researchers at Oxford University, eating chicken brings a higher risk of a rare form of blood cancer, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and prostate cancer in men, according to Oxford consumers.

The survey included following 475,000 middle-aged Britons over an eight-year period between 2006 and 2014.

Their diet was analyzed in addition to the diseases and conditions they had to deal with.

About 23,000 of them developed cancer.

Poultry intake was positively associated with the risk of malignant melanoma, prostate cancer and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, according to the article published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.

Chicken was previously considered a healthy alternative to red meat such as beef and lamb.

The study that was conducted was an association study.

This means that it only shows the correlation between eating chicken and certain cancers, instead of investigating the reasons for that.
