Asia Bibi, who was released earlier this year from prison in Pakistan after being held on death row for eight years on charges of blasphemy, is calling for reform of blasphemy laws.
Ruth Sax, writing for www.premier.org.uk says Bibi, in her first interview since her release from prison, told the Sunday Telegraph: “I pray to God that everyone falsely implicated in blasphemy cases should be released, that they get freedom and God helps them.”
“There should be proper investigation mechanisms while applying this law. We should not consider anyone sinful for this act [blasphemy] without any proof, she added.”
