Skillet‘s Victorious roars in atop Billboard‘s Top Christian Albums chart (dated Aug. 17), earning 25,000 equivalent album units, with 22,000 in traditional album sales, in the week ending Aug. 8, according to Nielsen Music.
The set is the group’s fourth Top Christian Albums No. 1 among eight top 10s, all of which have arrived at the apex. Victorious follows Unleashed, which entered at No. 1 on Aug. 27, 2016; 2013’s Rise; and 2009’s Awake.
Skillet posted its first of its 14 Top Christian Albums entries in 1998 with Hey You, I Love Your Soul, which debuted and peaked at No. 25. The group achieved its first top 10 with its fourth entry, Alien Youth (No. 4, 2001).
The first single from Victorious that is being promoted to Christian radio is “Anchor,” which jumps 45-37 on Christian Airplay, up 6% to 310,000 audience impressions in the week ending Aug. 11. On the Hot Christian Songs chart, which blends airplay, streaming and sales data, it leaps 42-27.
