My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.
First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.
The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
First, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to The Times of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday vowed to continue to act against Iranian entrenchment in Syria, days after a high-level trilateral meeting with the US and Russia. Netanyahu also warned that an Israeli retreat from the Jordan Valley in the West Bank would lead to war. The prime minister said, “We will continue to act against Iran’s attempt to establish itself in Syria, with the air force having a central role. We always remember that we must be ready to protect ourselves with our own strength against every threat, that is the basic principle which assures our future.”
Second, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to The Jerusalem Post, former US Ambassador Nikki Haley said President Donald Trump’s peace plan doesn’t compromise Israel’s security as she urged the Palestinians to accept it. Speaking at the Israel Hayom Forum for US-Israel Relations, Haley explained that the Trump administration’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was simply stating a fact and said that “the Palestinians may not want to come to the table, but if their neighbors do, then it is a totally different ballgame.”
Third, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to The Times of Israel, F-35 fighter jets from Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom conducted training flights over the Mediterranean Sea this week in the Israeli aircraft’s first-ever international exercise. The exercise marked a significant show of military cooperation between the three countries. Israel Defense Forces received the fifth-generation stealth fighters from the United States in late 2016 and declared it operational roughly a year later. In 2018, the Israeli Air Force revealed it had used the F-35 operationally — including at least once over Lebanon — making it the first military in the world to do so.

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.
Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.
Our topic for today is titled “The Great Harlot and the Scarlet Beast (Part 2)” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future.”
Whether one view’s Babylon as the worldly enterprise of John’s day, our day, or some future day, Beasley-Murray’s observation is valid: “The contrasts [which we discussed in our last episode] will have been readily perceived by John’s original readers, and will have served to emphasize the necessity that they should ‘depart’ from Babylon, so as not to share in its fate, and that they maintain their lot in the city which will endure forever.”
The question often debated among evangelicals is whether this “Babylon” is the Babylon of ancient times revived in the Last Days or whether it is symbolic of Rome revived in the Last Days. Either way, those who view the Revelation as a prophecy of the future must look for a future Babylon or future Rome as the fulfillment of this prediction. In this regard, let us consider several key factors.
- The early church unanimously viewed “Babylon” as Rome. None of the early church fathers held that Babylon was to be taken literally. They all viewed it as symbolic of the Roman Empire in general and the city of Rome in particular.
- The reformers and puritans were also unanimous in taking “Babylon” as a symbol of Rome. The only difference was that they extended it to refer to papal Rome as the apostate church of the Last Days.
- There is no valid reason today to assume that ancient Babylon will literally be rebuilt and rise to power overnight as the dominant world city and capital of the Antichrist.
Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.
In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
This section is titled, “What Time Is It?” (Part 2). J.C. Ryle writes:
Let us consider the present condition of the world. The Apostle Paul calls it “night.” “The night,” he says, “is far spent.” I have no doubt, that word seems strange to some people. They think it surprising that our present time should be called “night.” They are living in days of learning, science, civilization, commerce, freedom, and knowledge. They see around them things which their forefathers never dreamed of — railways, manufacturing plants, gas, electricity, steam engines, education for all, and inexpensive books. I know it all, and am thankful for it.
Nevertheless I say that in the things of God, the world is still in a state of “night.” I believe that God looks down on this globe of ours as it rolls round the sun, and as He looks upon it, He pronounces it “very dark!” I believe that the angels go to and fro, and make report of all they see on our earth, and their constant report is, “very dark!” And I am sure that believers in the Lord Jesus in every land are of one mind on this subject. They cry and sigh because of the abominations they see around them. To them the world appears “very dark!”
Is it not dark in heathen lands? There are two-thirds of the whole world in open rebellion against God and His Christ. Two out of every three inhabitants of the globe have no Bible, no Gospel, no knowledge, no faith, no hope! They are cruel, deceitful, immoral, earthly sensual, devilish, idolatrous, superstitious! Surely that is night!
Is it not dark in many professedly Christian countries? There are two-thirds of all the professing Christians on earth who are unsound in the faith. Their religion simply is not Scriptural. They have added to it many things which are not to be found in the Bible. They have left out of it many things which the Bible has plainly commanded. There are millions who give honor to the Virgin Mary and dead saints — instead of Christ. There are millions of baptized people who know nothing of the Bible, and have not the slightest idea of the salvation contained in the Gospel. Surely that is night!
If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.
Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.
Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
