16-Year-Old Florida Boy is Found Dead in a Shallow Grave One Week After Neighbors Heard Gunshots and He Went Missing

The body of a missing boy Bruce Hagans Jr., 16, was found Friday afternoon in Orlando, Florida. He had been missing since May 31

The body of a missing teen who was the subject of an Amber Alert for a week has been found in a shallow grave.

Bruce Hagans Jr., 16, was last seen getting into a car with a light-skinned black male with dreadlocks on May 31.

Cops were called to the 1000th block of Lincoln Terrance with reports of shots fired.

When they arrived there was no indication a crime had taken place but the child was nowhere to be found.

‘He did willingly get into the car with the other individual. I think you are aware that the shots were fired inside the vehicle,’ Winter Garden Police Chief, Steve Graham, said Friday.

Luis Rivera Sr. was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.

Authorities later found the dark gray Infiniti G37 in Sanford.

Law enforcement received numerous tips over the past week.

On Friday before noon they began combing through a wooded area near a home on Robertson Street, in the Wedgefield community of East Orange County, Orlando.

Hagans Jr. – who went by the nickname BJ – was discovered by 1pm.

Luis Rivera Sr., 49, was arrested on the same day and he has been charged with tampering with evidence. His relationship to Hagans Jr is not clear.

‘They’re going down’: The boy’s father, Bruce Hagans Sr. said to the killer via a TV interview: ‘That was totally wrong, the way you treated Bruce

However investigators are still looking for the suspect who drove away with the teen and is believed to have killed him.

‘Every piece adds to the puzzle and paints a picture for us and puts enough together to get someone into custody. I’m very confident we will have more in custody,’ Chief Graham added.

Authorities have not shared a motive for the killing.

The teen’s family described the drummer in the church band as energetic.

‘He was big and tall, but he was just like a child. He had a big heart of a 5-year-old. He was a goofy child,’ his aunt told News 6 on Monday.

His father, Bruce Hagans Sr, said the discovery of the corpse provided some closure because not every family of a missing child gets to find out what happened.

‘What happened to him, he didn’t deserve,’ Hagans Sr. told News 6.

Directly addressing the at-large killer, the father added: ‘That was totally wrong, the way you treated Bruce. They’re going down.’

The investigation into his death is ongoing.
