Houston Texans star J.J. Watt has donated $10,000 to the family of a Wisconsin firefighter who tragically lost his life recently after being shot while responding to a call.
Lundgaard, a 14-year veteran of the Appleton (Wisc.) Fire Department, was killed by a gunman at a downtown transit center after responding to a medical emergency. A police officer and bystander were also wounded in the incident and the suspected gunman was ultimately killed.
Watt, a native of Waukesha, Wisc., who rose to football stardom with the Wisconsin Badgers, pledged $10,000 to Lundgaard’s family on a GoFundMe page set up in the wake of his death.
