There is a Devil Loose: 26-Year-Old Father is Charged With Murder After Punching One-Month-Old Baby in the Head, Throwing Game Controller at Him, and Dropping Him Because He Lost a Video Game

Anthony Trice, 26

A father has been charged with murder for allegedly punching his one-month-old son because he was angry at losing in a video game.

Anthony Trice, 26, from Louisville, Kentucky, took out his frustration on tiny De’Anthony by throwing the controller and hitting him in the head, cops say.

He then tried to stop the child crying by picking him up, but then dropped him on the floor, the police report states.

Trice then made the child a bottle. When he came back he noticed he was in distress, and called 911.

The baby ended up at Norton Children’s Hospital in serious condition, according to the Louisville Courier Journal but later died from its injuries.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by the baby’s grandmother, Tonjia, to help pay for funeral expenses. $650 had been raised as of Monday afternoon.

The grandmother wrote online that ‘none of the family saw this coming and they need help for funeral costs.’

Trice was originally charged Saturday with first-degree criminal abuse of a child but the charges were upgraded to murder.

Trice was in court Monday morning where his bond was raised to $1,000,000 in cash.

After losing the game, Trice allegedly picked the baby up to try and quiet him down.

But no sooner had he picked him up, he dropped the baby onto the floor before taking him into a bedroom and attempting to prop him up.

After returning from the bathroom he found the infant ‘was in distress’ and called 911, police said.

Trice is being held on bail and is due in Jefferson District Court for arraignment on Monday afternoon.

It’s not clear where the little baby’s mother, Roniusha Tunstill was at the time of the incident.
