The head of a Southern Baptist seminary says if it wasn’t obvious before, it’s now clear from a recent tweet that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez simply doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
In one of her angriest tweets to date (pictured), the Democratic freshman representative from New York is torching pro-lifers. “AOC,” as she’s known, was reacting to the Georgia pro-life law that bans nearly all abortions in that state.
“What angers me,” she tweeted, “about the GOP’s attempts to turn the United States into a far-right Christian theocracy is how dishonest they are about it. At least be forthright about your desire to subvert and dismantle our democracy into a creepy theological order led by a mad king.”
Southern Evangelical Seminary president Dr. Richard Land finds her comments offensive, but not surprising. “She’s delusional and deluded and has been from the moment she stepped onto the stage,” he tells OneNewsNow. “She is the kind of true believer that Lenin hoped for.”
Continuing, the former president of the SBC’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission says Ocasio-Cortez is dead wrong.
“If she knew any evangelical Christians, she would know that the last thing we want is a theocracy of any kind,” says Land. “We understand that whenever government gets its hands on religion, it subverts it and perverts it and distorts it and twists it.”
