“Fuller House” won the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Funny TV Show this weekend, and as Candace Cameron Bure accepted the award, she shared how prayer has played an important role for the cast of the show.
“Family sticks together no matter what,” she stated in her speech, which she later put on Instagram. “They stick together through the hard times. They support each other. They encourage one another. They pray for each other, and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets. And a loving family that sticks together also celebrates the really good times together.”
Bure has not been shy when it comes to her faith, even when she’s been facing opposition. During her time as a co-host of ABC’s The View from 2015-2016, Bure maintained and shared about her faith and conservative views while sitting at the table with progressive co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.
While on the nationally syndicated television program “The Wendy Williams Show” last year, Bure discussed the experience.
“My whole goal for that show was to be kind and respectful and to truly represent Christ in my speech. When I talk to people, I want to listen, and have compassion, or empathy, or see where you are at in your life so that I can understand your point of view,” stated Bure. “I don’t know anyone that has ever changed because someone yelled and screamed at them.”
“I don’t win every battle but I’m fighting (for my values). I know it’s honoring to God,” she added. “Every little difference, every little fight, makes a difference for God.”
